That's already the rumor. He's on the way back once his contract is up.

Lola's writing is just dreadful. And the actress feels so blah. I think she'd do better as a vixen or bitch, but they have this bizarre need to have her never be wrong. I'm so confused by the Kyle/Lola relationship because they write it like we're supposed to be rooting for them but at the same time, you can't really root for them because both are kind of unlikeable together. It's just weird writing all around. Kyle and Summer are clearly the better match, and I never ever thought I'd say that! lol. Lola's likely filling a plot purpose right now. I don't feel she's going to last as long as some think. JMO. But I have no idea, and especially now that they're adding a mother. (lol at how they know fans were annoyed at the quick presence of four Rosales, but they dump two and then add one ... um ... are they not getting it?). I'm almost kind of glad they don't have Fen or Noah wasting their time pining for Lola while she's with Kyle because you know that's all they'd do. (Honestly it's kind of blatant that she'd be a better match for Noah ... just sayin' ... Morrow can't play the fratboy forever no matter how much he or the show thinks he can, but he's also not believable as Victor Jr. so ... he only works well with Sharon Case, MTS and the actors who play his kids, he's very natural and believable as a father, but he leaves me cold with his portrayal, honestly; I swear I remember at one point way back in the day, actually liking Nick ... but in hindsight, Morrow's really always kind of been the same ...)

Lola isn't going anywhere. And I wouldn't be surprised if when Daddy Rosales comes and plays out a reunion, Mia and Rey return for drama with the newborn baby.  After the crap storm twitter gave Angelica yesterday over hiring another Rosales, this was her response. Lol

It's interesting that Mama Rosales shows up now, instead of when Lola was in the coma. She could/should have been there for her daughter then and could also have been tested as a possible donor match. I do wonder what will bring her to town. I do believe that Mia's baby will end up being Arturo and I think they may leave town together. According to spoilers for this week, Paul will drop the charges against Mia and Arturo/Mia will apologize to the family. I could see them learning Arturo is the father of her baby, them realizing the love each other and leaving town. (Or at least making plans to leave town together).

Rumor was he dies by Mia's hands some way

  4. A love interest for Jack. Will give Phyllis a rival since their daughters are fighting over the same man. It's excellent casting....and here all I can think is how disgusted I am that the show can do all this but won't bring back Mishael Morgan. How disenchanted I am with this show that I can enjoy anything.

I agree with you (so true about Sharon written into the ground to redeem Adam). I don't think they're the loves of each other lives. I think Griffith is probably going to play around with all of them. He doesn't seem very committal towards anything so far (I think why most of us are considering him a 'stopgap').

Agreed on CBS/Sony. I imagine it's dictated by them ... it's still fairly early into his run (however long it lasts) so we'll see. I could care less about most of these couples, to be quite honest  there's very little getting me to watch :(

Agree. Griffith doesn't seem committed to anything. Most the time, I don't even get what story he's trying to tell or the story isn't rational.

Speaking of Traci, I believe that Lauren will be trying to play matchmaker for Cane and Traci. Here is a picture of her from SOD talking to an animated Traci at Society.

I believe that Traci will be telling Lauren about her novel and her interactions with Cane. I think that Lauren will think that Traci has a crush on Cane and will try and play matchmaker for them. I think that would be interesting.

Lauren may feature in the novel trying to matchmake Iris and Flynn

You play out a different show in your head.

Wasn't Chelsea brought on specifically for Adam. I recall reading in the mags or somewhere that the show had approached EH about Chloe being paired with him but ultimately created the exact same character of Chelsea for MCE to have the honors.

Regardless of how Sharon was written into the ground to redeem Adam, I don't think the show was ever making him the love of her life.  I agree that couples that are featured change from writer to writer.  But there are certain couples that CBS and Sony back.

  7. 10 hours ago, rlj said:

I bet you did.  Regimes have their own versions of couples.  MAB had Sharon and Adam as true loves, she left her and Nicks home to Adam when she "died" and then a new regime came and that changed re the couples who were centric  One can expect Shey/Phick/Chadam (depending on how long she is on canvas) /Villy to be mixing it up this summer. 😎

Agree on that mix up. But notice you didn't use Shadam in that mix up. You used Chadam. Lol

LOL, MG didn't have to screentest with SC, he could've just screentested with Braeden, like Mealor did with Bergman, but they did, more often than not that means they will be romantically involved

I knew you'd say that. Lol

And I'd probably think it was way more valid than I do if the show wasn't so couple centric. But, time will tell. We shall see what the show plans for Adam. But I'm sure Josh will quit before the long term story plays.

  9. 1 hour ago, rlj said:

Mark Grossman states he screentested with Sharon Case, months b4 announcement of Chelsea returning, sounds like Shadam ain't a bump in the road, but that could change if MCE and MG have chem and how long MCE will be on the show!

That screen test happened cause MCE wasn't on the show and they decided to use Sharon to introduce the character.

Because of MCE's Chelsea. She's a non-starter. I'm not trying to say they won't try or go there. I just think Sharon and Adam bring them more buzz (and magazine covers). People only want Chelsea back because of her ties to Adam, but she's a useless character (she doesn't have to be). MCE has never set Y&R on fire like she did AMC. And I like her. She's there for plot purposes. I doubt they care about her character.

Nah. He looks in between both groups, as he should be.

I see what you mean. Alone, no, I don't think they care. But she's the living mother of Adams eldest son and was played as his one true love, something Sharon isn't and won't ever be unless Nick dies. So I think it's obvious that Chelsea will be his love interest again. Chelsea is still his wife. So, with Adam, yeah they care about her. She is good angst for his screw ups. She gives him something to lose.

I don't see Chelsea/Adam again (at least not at first but I have no idea where anything is going). If it were Hartley coming back, sure. But who knows? They could have chemistry. I just think they know SC can help better establish the new Adam (but doesn't mean they'll be paired long-term and I keep forgetting about Rey's existence). I'm not really sure where they plan to go with all of these people. You have Stafford's Phyllis coming back and you know she's probably hot to work with Morrow again. MCE and Morrow had no chemistry. I'm actually sort of open to Sharon/nuAdam after seeing them in pictures together (and Morrow seems to fight his best pairing in Shick, but that shipped sailed as far as I'm concerned, until of course the show is cancelled and they magically reunite for the finale). My main problem with Adam has always been the trash he became under Muhney and MAB.

Chelsea is a non-character who exists to serve Adam. MCE deserves better but hey at least she's getting a check again (I was just recently re-watching some of her stint as Crazy Annie on AMC; while greener there, she just does better with a character who's not a stepford wife). I still love the idea of her banging Noah but they'd have to bring Adamson back and since they want Nick to be the 20 year old frat boy, Noah doesn't stand a chance.

I think it will be fine. I think most cling to the age difference because they don't want Sharon/Adam again. Neither do I, but I guess I'm more open after seeing them next to each other, but I'll have to see it on-screen. Hell, nuAdam could only end up having chemistry with like Josh Morrow! LMAO ...

You don't see Chelsea and Adam again? Really? Why not?

Here are some upcoming spoilers from SOD:

Nikki will share shocking news, Adam will interact with Sharon but will not remember who she is, Michael will find himself in a compromising position and Nate will pursue Abby. Rey will demand the truth from Mia, Sharon will experience Deja vu, Victoria makes a decision about her relationship with Billy. Billy will not trust Adam and will make it his mission to protect Victoria and the kids from him. Kyle  and Lola will take a big step in their relationship. He will ask Lola to move in with him.  Lauren will play matchmaker, Victor will fight to keep his family together, Jack will reconnect with Adam.

I wonder who Lauren will play matchmaker for?

Lauren plays matchmaker for Phyllis and jack, maybe?

Are Kyle and Summer even divorced?

I can already see Adam will be on 5 days a week for 75% of the show. All major story will spin off the character.

I had thought about them possibly pairing Jett with Traci too, I thought a pairing with them could work. But I don't mind what I'm seeing from her and Cane. If they paired them together, maybe they would take their time and it would be built off of mutual respect and a growing unexpected attraction. I actually think that could be interesting.

I do wonder if they will go there romantically with them or just leave them as friends, who get closer.

I don't think there is any way to do it without Cane looking like a gigolo and Tracy his sugar momma. Canes just too slimy. Even if it's just a friendship, cane looks like a user if Tracy becomes his champion around town. Especially after Jill.

Jett and Tracy is an excellent idea. Yet the show probably never thought of that.

I hate to say it as a gay fan, but I will: If they put Ana with a woman it's a ploy. It's at least partially a choice to desexualize a young black female lead in the heterosexual romance sphere, and get her off in the corner and out of play.

I am all for LGBT storylines on soaps. I want many more and better. The way Y&R handles them is not good, and IMO has also been partly crafted to marginalize Mariah/Camryn Grimes vs. other stars. After that and killing off Hillary, I don't consider making the show's next promising young black female LGBT with only two potential love interests (and only one the audience even likes) in a C-storyline to be progress or fair play for either LGBT interests or characters of color.

    +1.

Do you think the decision for go forward with Tessa and Mariah was fueled by fan opinion? By that I mean, fans were talking about their chemistry from day 1. Maybe the show picked up on it and went there. I know Sally said that it was always the plan. But I don't buy that. She also says she didn't get any interference whatsoever from Sony or CBS and we all know that's a lie.

We do not agree on what Mal may have been planning regarding Ana and Fen and that's fine.

As far as what they are doing with Ana going forward, her chances of getting good writing aren't high, regardless of whether she is played as rival or Mariah's or not.   (Though this storyline with Mariah/Tessa is one of the worst if not the worst situation Josh could have put her in.) I think that Josh doesn't value the character and it's unfortunate. I don't think he's going to do right by her. Either she was going to get a potential bad storyline or no storyline.

But It's not like Mariah has been getting a lot of favorable writing either as of late. Since Mariah has gotten with Tessa, she hasn't gotten very good writing and has all but disappeared off the show at times. To the point to where people were asking when's the last time her or Tessa have been seen. Not to mention her and Tessa don't get a lot of romantic scenes or do much and Tessa has done some awful things to her and her family. And as of late, Mariah has been mainly focused on Tessa and her needs as opposed to doing stuff for herself like run her own Tv Show. Mariah isn't getting incredibly great writing. She may come out on top in a potential Ana/Tessa/Mariah triangle, but I think that is more about Josh not having much of a use for Ana, than him having a strong preference for Mariah.

Agree. Mariah hadn't had much to do. But there is a story brewing now. Who do you think will lead? Who do you think will be protagonist? Who is antagonist?  Though I do think it's possible that Tessa is doing this to Mariah for some flimsy, inexcusable reason. I won't rule that out. So the end result is Ana and Mariah starting as enemies but bonding over a shared loss. Classic story.

Ana was giving some looks on today's shows that definitely had me thinking she will end up being interested in her. I do think she may end up falling for her and it might be unrequited. Also, I saw tomorrow's show and Ana and Mariah was really clashing regarding her. Ana was giving Mariah quite a bit of attitude. Mariah insinuated that Ana has bad intentions towards Tessa and is trying to change Tessa.

I am concerned about this for a lot of reasons. And the more I see and read of regarding this storyline the more I think it will be damaging towards Ana's character. After looking at tomorrow's show, I really do wonder if she will end up being Mariah's stalker or at least being painted as a "bad guy", in a potential Mariah/Tessa/Ana triangle. I even wonder if Josh is writing this storyline so he can write Ana out. There was that report that one more young person would be let go, it may be Ana. And that's why they are writing her character like this. I could see Josh using her as temporary angst for Tessa and then getting rid of her to make room for the characters he wants to write about.

IMO, unfortunately what a lot of this boils down to is that Josh just doesn't care about the character of Ana. He doesn't value her enough to give her a decent storyline and that is why she will be stuck in whatever mess he writes for her regarding Tessa and Mariah. It's a shame. Mal had his faults, but at least he wrote for her and tried to give her a storyline and hinted towards giving her a much better potential love interest in Fen. Once Fen was sent away, the writing was on the wall for Ana. I don't think that Josh was ever going to give her a decent storyline or love interest. Almost anything is better than the stuff I think he may end up writing for her in this storyline with Tessa/Mariah. Even putting her with one of the 40 something year old men like Nick or somebody is a better storyline than this.

You're so full of Hope. It's sweet. Mal young was NEVER going to pair Fen and Ana. He was Kyle's foil and destined for a quad with Kyle/Lola/Summer. He gave Ana a confidante so that we knew she was lying to Devon. Fen helped push her story with the only pairing they planned for her to have ----> Her brother.

You should be concerned. Mariah is the shows bellwether. If she says something about a character and their motives,  it's usually true. It's possible that Ana's a red herring though. But before that's figured out, they'll write her like crap to make viewers think it's her. And she has zero hope of getting decent writing as Mariah's rival. Even if in the right, she will be cast as the villain.  ZERO!

  16. 2 hours ago, xtr said:

I really hope they don't go there. That would be awful and adding injury to insult (If they also have Ana falling for Tessa).

I read comments from Mariah/Tessa's fans yesterday saying they thought that was the case, but I thought that was reaching. Though after reading the recap, it seems like Ana is being a bit unnecessarily harsh with Mariah.

I really hope that Josh doesn't write that Ana is her stalker because she wants Tessa for herself and trying to get Mariah out of the way. It's bad enough, he may have Ana fall for Tessa and fight Mariah over her. Making her a stalker on top of all of that... a big fat No to that.

Another charismatic, beautiful, promising character sacrificed for Mariah.....I can't.

And yes, I think Ana and Tessa are starting up something. That desperate looking embrace they had studio was exactly how they played teriah...A bunch of unnecessary tight hugging. Gag me!
