I haven't watched in weeks and just came here to catch up.

I see Devon and elena slept together already. This relationship is nothing. Seems created to push another story. I have ideas but I'll keep them to myself 

Also watched a clip of Adam. He's really good just like folks have said. The show will wear fans out on him in 6 months.

I read about the Devon paying off Elena's student loan and her getting upset about that too. I don't think that is a good storyline for them and I don't like that the show is still going with this idea, that a woman should be offended by having a man who cares for her trying to help/provide for her financially. It's not interesting, romantic or very realistic. 

 

And Kyle and Lola continue to be a disaster of a couple together. Kyle has become so weak around Lola. He's pretty much unrecognizable from the strong, confident man that he was when MM's version was introduced. I hate seeing what has happened to him since he's gotten with Lola. And they are so boring, and are on way too much. The show just be finding ways to cram them into multiple episodes. They should give that airtime to other characters, instead of constantly showing boring scenes where Kyle tries to appease Lola and they play "This Old House."

When you put it like that, it's even more ridiculous. In what world would Mariah get a job that Neil had upon his death. You're right. Her working at power in an entry level job doing PR for musicians would be one thing. The show could even hire someone to be their day to day boss. But to have her running an ENTIRE PR firm is absurd. I'm sure she said she wasn't qualified and he had to beg and convince her to take the job. Sickening.

Also, Lola will be stunned by Kyle's proposal and quickly leave after he asks her to marry him. She will talk with Rey about that and Kyle will end up hanging a banner saying "I'm sorry" at their apartment. Lola will end up coming home and accepting his proposal.

 

Kyle is always apologizing for something when it comes to Lola. It's very unfortunate.

What qualifications does Mariah have to run a PR firm? So ridiculous. I fear a repeating of the Hilary/Mariah dynamic being written for Ana. So unfortunate. I know some folks like it but I just can't support Mariah in these folks orbit. They always get the short end while she's written be be better, smarter, more deserving.. They could at least keep Devon out of whatever they do with Ana and Mariah. I have zero desire to see him treating his own sister like crap to prop up Saint Mariah the way he did with Hilary. 

Devon and Kyle are written the same way. He was always apologizing to Hilary even when she was the one who was wrong.  I read Devon pays off Elens's school loans and she storms out. Lola is storming out over a proposal. Too bad Devon doesn't get the same airtime as Kyle. 

Dark horse had debt out if the blue??!!  They could have at least shown nick borrowing money for something prior. Such poorly executed stories.

I don't see how Mariah and Tessa are better for her than the Summer/Kyle/Theo/Lola Group. IMO, they are worse. Much worse. I think that Mariah will get the upper hand against her and I could see Devon scolding Ana as she goes against Mariah. It's not going to be fun to watch and it's a storyline I dread seeing play out.

 

If they won't put Ana in her the age group with her actual peers (Summer, Kyle, Lola, Theo,) then I Could be okay with her befriending Abby and her, Abby, Nate, Devon and Elena being there own group. As suggested by Forever8, they could keep the detective Eddie around and flesh him out. I could be okay with Ana being apart of that group and dating someone like Eddie.

She'd a 5th wheel because we have two guys and two girls in a quad...then her. It's not like she will get in on the romance aspect. If they brought back Fen for her and put them both in with the quad, that'd be better. I just think in this case, it's a be careful what you wish for thing.

I don't think any of this is good for Ana. Definitely not anything Mariah related. I'm still smarting from Hilary's interactions with her. I definitely don't want Ana around her. I have zero desire to see Devon support Mariah and chastise Ana over dealings with her nor take her position and give it to Mariah the way he did with Hilary. But alas, it's on the horizon.

Of course, from Bryton's POV I can understand why he's wanted his character's biological parents back on the canvas.

 

Personally, and I love Stephen Nichols and Debbi Morgan, but I was not here for Tucker or Harmony ... 

 

Yeah. It does make sense.

I think Bryton wants a return of any of Devon's family. Especially the older generation. That opens up loads of story. He was actively campaigning for VRs return on Twitter a few weeks ago.

I would rather see Ana go join the Summer/Theo/Kyle/Lola group (or even get involved with an older man) than watch this storyline with Mariah and Tessa.

To do what in that group? Be Summer's cheerleader the way Abby is Lola's? Or take Abby's place as Lola's biggest fan? I don't see it for Ana over there either. 

They should just bring Fen back for her. I wasn't a fan of her paired with him. But desperate times...I still want Noah.

It seemed like Ana was even insulting her and her look a little. But who knows what may happen with this show. I did see someone posted on Twitter a few days back, something that indicated that Ana/Tessa/Mariah would be sharing upcoming scenes in a future episode. I believe Chelsea may been on that episode as well. So Ana is not done with those two.

It wouldn't bad a bad thing if it was evenly written....

Also think Devon and Nate will have a rivalry. They are malcolm and Neil's sons. The circle of life. And it's too easy to write for the show to pass up. 

Great interview. 

The one thing about Bryton that I adore is he gets the significance of what the Winters family has meant to the show and understands that he's carrying a big torch. He doesn't take it lightly. 

Good to know the show sees HWG as an integral part of the show's future. May that manifest itself to real story and airtime.

Think your spec is true. Mariah will work at LP with Ana furthering their rivalry.

Elena does need her own life outside Devon and the potential romance storyline too. She should decide without her uncle around she should go to complete her residency at the hospital. Have Nate and she have conflict over the treatment of patients and procedures too. As well as eventually Nate becoming a mentor to her down the road too. 

 

Can we talk about Ana? You have someone as beautiful, charismatic and talented as Loren Lott. And you have her just be Devon's assistant for the past seven months. Her love interest is no where in sight, and I don't need her and Nate to be together. I would either bring back Fen from tour who discovers he doesn't want to be a singer anymore, but goes onto working with his mother at Fenmore's. Or develop Eddie the detective that Mark Taylor plays for her, it seems like they would have a fun rapport with each other. 

 

Let's not forget Lola Rosales gets a bunch of airtime .... 

 

I bet Theo in his first week will interact with Kyle, Lola, Summer , Jack, Billy etc... He'll have more ties than Ana Hamilton has I guarantee you. 

When the show decided to bring back Ana, I'm convinced all they wanted is someone for Devon to interact with and to provide him story.  Supporting character. They went out and hired a star. Fans recognized her as such and expect more for her than they wanted to give. I'm interested to see what they do.

I agree that all the black cast need a wider circle. Elena does  need more development. I feel like I don't know who she is.  She also needs something to do.  A story. A purpose.  But, She could have that with Ana and Devon as her main screen partners if the show cared.  Cane mostly interacts with Tracy and their relationship is even more developed than Devon and Elena. Isn't that something. Lol 

So no arguments there. But what I take issue with is folks seemingly acting like Devon being Elena's main screen partner is something terrible and limiting. It doesn't have to be. 

Theo could only be interacting with Kyle and Summer without meeting anyone else and he'd still be a better developed character. He will have a story. A love interest. A rivalry with Kyle. A business story. He will be designed with something to do. Because the show will care.

I don't get why Elena needs to be shown with other people to be developed. I don't get this idea that sharing scenes with Devon is such a bad thing and limits her.  He can develop her with her main screen partners (Devon and Ana) like he does EVERYBODY else. He's just not doing that cause he doesn't care about her character. I bet you Theo won't suffer in development by spending most his time with summer and Kyle. And I bet you nobody will complain and say he needs to be shown with someone other than summer either.

I think Devon got the company because, in essence, it's his company anyway since all the money to start it came from him. But I do agree that there is no story in giving Devon the other 50%. I'd rather have seen Neil challenge Lily to live up to her legacy in the business world. Ain't no conflict in Devon owning the company outright unless Moses will be soras'd soon to come reclaim it.

I don't want to see it happen, but I could see him hiring her and her clashing more with Ana, which could be to the detriment of Ana's character. 

 

Maybe down the line more will be done regarding the things that the twins/Moses inherited. Maybe one day Moses will be sorased some more and will see his inheritance come more into play.

I think that both Devon and nate's only option at story is a rivalry with each other. So that'll happen. 

Also agree that it sounds like Mariah will work for LP and Ana being co head of that means she's being set up as Mariah's rival and boss like Hilary. Also agree that it'll be bad for Ana just like it was bad for Hilary.  We've seen a preview of how that'll be written and Ana will be railroaded to make Mariah the antagonist. Notice that only the two young black females have been written as undeserving losers up against Mariah. Abby and Summer never were written this way. But, let me not say that. Some don't want to hear it.

It won't feature. They'll remain D level  time and focus but at least it'll give them something to do. Right now they don't have any story at all. They have nothing to do.

She also gets some fairytales Neil used to read to her. The twins get trust funds set up for them. Neil also leaves letters for Moses and the twins. It is mentioned in the will that Neil Hope's they run Hamilton-Winters one day. Devon gets the share of the business, providing he goes along with a couple of conditions.

 

Neil wants him to give Nate a seat on the Board of Directors and to pay generosity forward. Neil also leaves Nate his penthouse. Also, on tomorrow's show Devon ends up making Ana co head of LP.

So is this the beginning of a rivalry with Devon and Nate. Neil saying Devon's gets the company providing he goes along with Nate getting a seat on the board indicates something. Devon is very generous. He'd have given Nate a seat regardless of Neil. 

Glad Cane got nothing. The show is clearly moving him out of their family orbit. I'm not mad. Let's see if the show centers Abbots around Cane like they did Winters for nigh on a decade. I doubt it. 

Poor Loren Lott. They will destroy Ana in pursuit of making Tessa/Mariah more palatable to the audience. I guessed they learned nothing from Hilary's involvement with the two. 

Anything to get Adam naked. The show is definitely committed to the character. 

So, Devon still doesn't get a story, eh? He and Elena won't get a chance to actually take off as a couple? 

It seems to me that Devon and Lily should be fighting an outside force who threatens their fathers legacy, HWG. Someone decides since Neil passed, the company is ripe for pickings. But no, give that story to Jack and Ashley for the 20th time. It won't be stale *sarcasm*.

Just shameful the first post-tribute episode back was all-white and the black characters were shoved back in the closet. Even more shameful is that the highest ranking black actor is Bryton at #17 with 27 episodes! A proven successful leading man with 27 episodes for the year! Just shame on these people! So much talent is going to waste. The numbers make it clear they aren’t even allowed to compete.

I've realized that even if they give them the airtime, they'll still never allow them to compete because the story will be written in such a way to turn fans off.
