I can't see Chance contesting the will. They are going to have to explain a major personality change to me if it's him. Just last year he seemed to be happy climbing mountains with his father.

 

Brock, Mac, Phillip 3,Chance & Nina did split a 1/4 of Katherine's estate evenly, so he did get something. And Jill owns the mansion, and Chancellor Industries. I'm sure she would pass those down to Chance if he wanted them. She would never deny Phillip III, or Chance their father/grandfather's home, or company. I imagine they are already in her will to receive them, cutting out some portion for Billy.

 

I really wanted Kay to pass Chancellor Industries down to Chance & Phillip 3. I saw it as a way of cleansing her soul , or making amends, for murdering their father/grandfather. Not that she had to say that out loud, but we would all know. And for me it would have made her story come full circle, finally admitting.. at least to herself, that yes she did kill that man. She never faced up to it her whole life. Leaving CI to Victor was was the worst part of that will.

 

Even if Devon does lose the money, I'm sure he still wouldn't need money from Tucker to be rich. He's made alot of money from investments which he should be allowed to keep. That's probably billions itself. Plus he's got HWG, which is written as a large conglomerate. It's all in how it's written though. But again, the only point in doing this at all would be to provide long term drama for him and chance. Otherwise, it's pointless.

I think the will is Chance's entrance. I wouldn't mind Devon losing a portion of his original inheritance to chance if it meant that Devon got a story and long term rival in Chance. Plus, even if he lost 50%, Devon would still be a billionaire!

Yeah. I can see all that. I can also see Abby being the one to notice Elena and Nate first. Maybe catch them in the act. Then they play the will she won't she tell Devon for a little while.  But I think dramatisdreamer is correct, it'll be told from Abby's POV despite folks seemingly being more invested in Devon's pairing with Elena than Abby and Nate

I also wonder if this is just some type of "scare" that will be used to usher Chance back onto the canvas. It was reported by Rey not too long ago that Chance had gotten involved in some shady stuff including money laundering. This surprised Nick who mentioned that Chance had his own trust. Maybe something is going on with the will that might play into Chance doing shady/stuff. And this stuff with Devon will help usher him back on canvas.

 

And regarding Mariah, a lot of her fans don;'t want her to like men as well. They've never flat out said she was gay, and when Summer first came back last year, it was hinted that Mariah still liked men as well. Her fans get up in arms every time it's mentioned she might could be with a man. Even though her and Tessa IMO, have gotten a decent amount of storyline as a couple. They are going to be so upset if the show ever puts her with a man again. Though I do think she is stuck with Tessa for the time being,.

 

Maybe a long time, much like Kyle will probably be stuck with Lola for a long time. I could see both Tessa/Mariah and  Kyle/Lola (especially Kyle/Lola) being like Lane. Where they are together for a really long time. But they won't have things like infidelity plague them the way it did Lane. Nor will they have family members who aren't crazy about the pairings. Everyone in Kyle's family supports Kyle/Lola. And people in Mariah's family are fine with Mariah/Tessa. (In spite of the blackmailing stuff) I think these two pairings will be like Lane with less problems and less interesting stories. 

 

 

It could just be a scare with the will. Also could be a fake planted will story. It really could be anything. I can see the show deciding that Devon can't have back up money and taking it to give more stakes to HWG. Though, I think it being Neil's legacy is more than enough. It's been enough for Jack with jabot. 

I am not so sure about Mariah fans. Most of FB loves Mariah and they hated she was gay. Recall most her fans wanted her to have Hilary's entire life with Devon cause "Hilary didn't deserve it".  Mariah fans aren't necessarily Teriah fans.

From the sounds of some of the spoilers, though, I do wonder if the writers will have Elena cheat on Devon with Nate and don't assume that this cannot happen...if they had Olivia cheat with her then ill best friend's husband, they could do this to any character.  As we all are by now aware, this show has a history of using AA characters to facilitate other people's stories.   I could see this benefiting MO way more than BJ as it will give Abby the opportunity to be the put upon lover left in the lurch with Devon playing the role of 'shoulder to cry on' foregoing his own emotional needs. 

 

In terms of Loren Lott, people are acting brand new if they didn't recognize the history of this show's use of black women characters as disposable as well as the actresses who portray them.  Hilary (MiM) being used to resuscitate any lackluster storyline or relationship (Lane) they could put her within spitting distance of has been well discussed on this board. Putting aside VR's situation, I mentioned Olivia earlier but even before them,  even during the great Bill Bell Sr. era, when the show went from strength to strength, consider the unceremonious way that the character of Amy Lewis (Stephanie E. Williams) exited the GC canvas.  The only major non AA actress who ever faced such slights would probably be Sharon Case, and at least Sharon has never been ignored as a character.

 

If Elena cheats on Devon with Nate, you'd be right that Abby will get the story while Devon is an afterthought. I can just see him now going to Nate and defending Abby's honor without ever mentioning Nate's betrayal of him.

I had read recaps for Monday's episode that said that Nate offers to take Elena out for dinner and it sounded like she would take him up on that offer at some point. On Monday's show they don't have the dinner because he has to go back to work. But maybe a little later they have that dinner and she doesn't tell Devon about it. Maybe that is what she "hides" from Devon.  Maybe she will get closer to Nate at the dinner & she will continue to get closer to him. And try and downplay their growing closeness. Maybe this possible dinner is the start of that.

 

I really am disgusted with the way that Josh/Tony did Ana/LL. They had a story right there for her with Theo (& Summer) but they got rid of her. And now Mariah is getting that story. I do wonder what ends up happening between Mariah/Theo. Some people were saying that they saw chemistry between Mariah/Theo & some Tessa/Mariah fans got upset about that. They get upset every time someone so much as mentions that a man looks at Mariah. 

When Elena was first cast as being in medicine, I figured she was for Nate. Seems like the show just used Devon to introduce her. That was smart IMO. Like you said though, Devon is really a great catch. How do they tell that story to make it make sense for her to fall for Nate? I can see them having a high pressure situation where they lose a young patient that can draw them together. Emotions running high. It could be good but writers will not show the details well enough for us to understand or feel it. 

That dinner offer is innocent now. She has no reason not to tell Devon 

I understand why Teriah fans hate when folks mention Mariah being with a man. They never thought the show was committed to Mariah being gay. Nobody thought it.

I'm not sure what exactly will happen with Devon and the Katharine's will. I believe whatever it is may help usher Chance back on the canvas. I'm not sure how much wealth he may lose regarding the will. Or if it's just a situation where there is a threat wealth will be taken away, but things end up working out for him in regards to the situation with the will.

 

I think that Nate/Elena have chemistry but I do think if they are going to eventually put Nate/Elena together, they need to write that in a solid way. Nate is a very sexy, and appealing man, but Elena does have a good man in Devon, who treats her very well. I wonder if they will end up having one of the reasons Elena is drawn to Nate because she may end up feeling like he has more in common with her. Plus, if they bring MM back that could help cause tension between Elena/Devon and push Elena closer to Nate. 

TPTB told Loren they wanted to spend their time and money on characters that they care about. It doesn't surprise me that one of those characters is Mariah and she'd get Ana's story. 

Elena has no reason to hide her friendship with Nate from Devon. None. Writers, as usual, showing their hand. I'm not sure how they plan to have Elena fall for Nate. That it's happening now prior to Mishael's return lets me know it'll have nothing to do with her character. I'm hoping that it has nothing to do with Devon possibly losing money cause Elena was never played as a golddigger. I'm at least interested in how that's going to play out.

Pushing out Winters for Rosales was the beginning of this latest decline.  Attempts to course correct have failed. But make no mistake, it began there. Today, every last member of what family was on. Meanwhile winters are still at an all time low.

I think the show jumped the gun. [!@#$%^&*] was better recieved when they were in a triangle with summer. It seems fans were just choosing summer losing. Which isn't the same as choosing [!@#$%^&*] 

I swung by Y&R twitter. Are kyle and lola popular enough for all this hoopla?

There are couples that I've hated with a passion (Sharon and Nick, Victoria and Billy, Lily and Cane) but I just KNEW that they were uber popular with viewers. I could feel it from interacting with other viewers on boards. I just do not see or feel this popularity around the fandom for Kyle and Lola. The buzz just isn't there.

I dont think itll be chance. I'm leaning towards Adam. The character needs a boost. Despite the actor being good, fans dont seem to be taking to him.

A recently deleted tweet...As I said...she got that from another board from a person who posted it to poke fun at another tweep, Dave, whom the board suspected got his "spoilers" from their board. 

If hilary is paired with Rey, I definitely wouldn't return to watch it. I love hilary and even I wouldn't care about a pairing of her and Rey.

More like having Adam LEAD MiM 'a return story. I'm assuming they will make it an A story so they need what they consider an A lister in it. 

There has to be some reason Devon is now interacting with Adam besides common sense of both needing a friend and confidante. I saw a partial clip of there scenes and they look like they should be interacting. I dont hate the idea of them as friends or rivals. 

I dont recall EVER being blown away by MTS or EBs acting. Come to think of it, it could be because I never related to their characters.

You may roll your eyes all you want. Lol. I am aware of her. I also know that when she gets the magazines, she posts all the content/spoilers from it. This post wasn't from her own eyes. She saw it on another board. Probably why she ALSO deleted it. It might be in SOD when it comes out but I doubt it. And Tara doesnt have the SOD yet.

Someone on Soapcentral posted a thread that said that SOD confirmed that Mishael Morgan is coming back to the show on contract. I haven't seen anything on their site confirming this but maybe this person has already gotten a copy of this week's SOD and saw the news in it. Also the SoapOperaNews site is saying a source close to them said that Mishael signed a three year contract:

I haven't seen anything from SOD either. But, I sure it's TRUE. Loren's departure tells us that mishael on contract was the  show's plan.
