  1. Amazing to see part of the Brooks storyline! It was almost a role reversal from everything I've read about Leslie and Lorie with Lorie being in the emotional state and Leslie calmer.

Does anyone know what year those scenes aired?

The reveal scenes aired in 1979.

  2. WOW!!!!! what great uploads. The Leslie reveal was full of high impact drama. I kept waiting for Lorie to slap Leslie or Lucas the way she was falling apart. I gather that Lance was Vanessa's favorite and Lucas didn't matter all that much.

The Jack and Jill pool scene was priceless. Terry Lester was so good as Jack. I hated it when he left the show. Peter never clicked with me the way Terry did. Brenda seemed to be getting all hot and bothered when he came out in that speedo.

  3. John McCook's Lance always came off as a little stodgy to me , so it was good to see him break loose.

First disco dancing, now belly dancing. . . I wonder if JLB embraced these scenes or dreaded them?

Wouldn't it be cool to re-unite those two and have them talk about their memories of those scenes and their stories on Y&R?

I never understood why Y&R never did a 2 hour special that brought back former stars to talk about their memories of the show. They could reunite William Gray Espy & Trish Stewart, Janice Lynde & Tom Hallick, JLB & John McCook, JLB & Tom Ligon, Meg Bennett & Eric Braeden, Melody Thomas Scott & Wings Hauser and Melody Thomas Scott with Chris Holder etc....

  4. Thanks for another great upload. I wish the person who recorded these back in the day had kept the entire episodes. I saw a glimpse of Leslie and Casey & Snapper at the end.

I gather the information that Vanessa has to destroy Lorie & Lance's marriage is Leslie's pregnancy.

  5. Val was as addicted to redecorating as JVA is addicted to plastic surgery!

LOL....that's true. I watched another random scene from season 10 and now Val's livingroom is a cream color. I didn't realize how many times she redecorated that house over the years.

  6. I didn't think the McClearys had that much in common with the Ryans, but after seeing that bar I think NBA has a point. That place looks so much like the Ryan bar, it's uncanny.

How long had that Cord been on the show? He seems like an overnight psycho.

Who is playing his sister Victoria?

    Nice location work.

I had to laugh at how quickly they were getting over Alec and accepting his death. Oh, we found a bloody shirt. I guess the cynical soap fan in me doesn't buy that line.

The photo of Alec and Kevin Conroy looked like a couple, not brothers.

I thought that photo looked like they were a couple too......LOL

Robert Curtis Brown appeared in 1988 on the game show Sale Of The Century and he states to Jim Perry he is an actor and that his actor friend Victor Bevine (from various soaps) suggested he come on. Victor had appeared and won on a previous episode.

  7. Thanks for posting more SFT. The Liza character seemed adrift after Travis was gone. Was it Rod Arrants choice to leave the show ? He wound up on Days then Y&R after SFT.

In an interview with Rod, he said he was heartbroken when Sherry died and they had a special working relationship. Rod also remains good friends with Eileen Davidson from when he played her husband on Y&R.

I know Kevin Conroy was a theater actor and did a stint on AW before taking this role on SFT, which appears to only lasted a year. He only lasted a year on Dynasty as well.I wonder if he just did soaps to supplement his income or he hated the way the characters were written and left ? He appears to no longer to do on camera acting, but has been best known as the voice of Batman in animated features for about 25 years.

  8. No doubt she used a lot of her book money on decorating. LOL

LOL....if you watch random clips, you will notice the livingroom will change colors and then wallpaper then no wallpaper in the foyer etc...

The livingroom looked better yellow as it was in the early seasons than that weird mauve/pink color that was popular in the late 80's she redid it in. I think it was blue at one point too.

  9. And Kevin was the first Jerry Grove on AW (he did a very good job...quite a hot, hot man too at that point).

I like the little I've seen of Julie on Search. Who was she on Y&R?

Frenchfan has some summaries of soaps around this time period.

Your right abbout Kevin Conroy as Jerry on AW. I have seen some of his episodes on youtube.

I didn't watch Search when it was on and it was cancelled when I was in grade school. I have fallen in love with this show and Sherry Mathis as Liza. I eat up every episode and wish some network would rerun it, even if it's just late 70's and 80's episodes.

Thanks for posting this and hope to see more.

  10. Good lord. laugh.png I normally don't care for quads involving siblings as they aren't written with balance and they are typically one sided, but this is quad I'd love to see from start to finish. I'd really love to see the scenes of Lorie learning that Leslie is carrying Lance's child. I know it had to be hard for Lorie to lose once again Leslie.

See this is why I want the Brooks/Prentiss/Foster clans to reemerge on Y&R. It's still so much that could be told between Chris, Snapper, Greg, Lorie, Lucas, Lance, and Leslie and add on a newer generation of this extended family (i.e. Jennifer, Brooks, Chucky, and any other possible children) and it'd be way more interesting [with a capable writer] than what's going on right now.

I hope to see the scene too where Lorie finds out Leslie is pregnant by Lance. I read she steps out of the shower and Lorie says " Just how pregnant are you Leslie".

I agree that some of these characters and their offspring need to return.

  11. Was this around the time that Lorie was trying to woo Lucas back to GC for Vanessa [from what I've read]? Also was Lorie on the 'outs' with Lance at this point? And Lucas had feelings for Lorie too? From what I've read on the history of the show, it always came off like Lucas was in love with Leslie. I didn't know that he had feeling for Lorie too. Talk about one incestuous quad filled with mixed feelings oozing from everyone. laugh.png

The four "L's" were a complex bunch. Lucas was in love with Lorie, but since she was his brothers wife, he kept his feelings to himself. When Leslie got pregnant with Lance's child, Lucas stepped in to marry her to give the baby a father and the Prentiss name. They also kept the truth from Lance. Vanessa made sure Lorie knew and rubbed it in Lorie's face. Later during Lucas & Leslie's marriage, I think he develops feelings for her and becomes jealous of Lance. Lance didn't know he was Brooks father till about 1981/82.

In one of the Y&R books there is a pic of Lucas (with the beard) shirtless holding Lorie who is wearing noting but a fur coat. I think there is also another shirtless pic of Lucas (with just a mustache) holding Leslie who appears to be semi nude as you just see her bare shoulders.

  12. I spent some time today re-watching Jill trying to kill Val. That was such an awesome storyline with top notch acting. Terri Austin was freak creepy how she was tormenting Val and telling her how if she had to blow her brains out, it would be such a mess to redecorate.

Speaking of redecorating, it seemed like Val redid that entire house every season.

  13. I'll say it one more time......whoever has either Brooks Family edits 1973-1982, Kay and Jill 1974-1979 edits and Nikki (W/ Erica Hope and MTS) edits 1978-1981 better come forward, or just post the whole full episodes....haha.

I hope your plea reaches the people who have these treasures. I saw some 1979 clips of MTS on her Lifetime interview and want to see more from her pre-Victor days. I would flip if someone has her and Greg's complete wedding in the Brooks house. It's pretty funny that Chris Brooks Foster loaned her white wedding gown to Nikki, since Nikki was considered the town floozy at that point. I wonder if the wedding guest in attendance kept a straight face when she came down the stairs in that ?

In the short clips I saw of that wedding, I noticed Stuart standing in the background, I wonder if he was the one who walked her down the aisle ?

  14. Thanks for more great scenes of 70's Y&R. I laughed how Vanessa lied that she would leave Lorie & Lance alone if she would take the blame.

What was the Disco scene ? or does that get edited out ? I wonder why the person who recorded these only wanted JLB scenes and not the entire episodes ? When the scenes fade to the next one, I keep hoping we will see the other characters and storylines on the show at the time.

I hope to see more of these classics. I hold out hope one day we will get to see some stuff surface of Nikki pre-Victor, especially her marriage to Greg Foster.
