  1. Matt's Big Ole Chrysler looked a little out of date for a Chief Of Staff. Most people of his social stature would have a new 1968 or least a 1967 model at this point.

Is it just me, but doesn't it look like there is a little too much furniture in the Powers livingroom ? If they uncluttered it a bit it would be more spacious

  2. They weren't a good hair decade for anyone!! We kiddos at that time were stuck with those stupid bowl cuts, the teenage girls and women went through at least two or three cans of mousse a day, the guys had the awful mullets, etc. ROFL!!!

LOL...I know. Everyone was dueling big hair to see who could get the ultimate height. Women looked like Texas Beauty Queen Contestants. As a boy I had the Ricky Shroeder and Adam Rich bowl cut.

  3. I wonder what went down with MTS and BD ? Was this during her first or second run ? I wonder how Brenda got along with Marla Adams ?

The whole cast seemed to adore Marla. In Jeanne's book she said Terry rented a bus and took the whole Y&R cast to go see Marla in a play.

  4. Question - when Leslie became pregnant by Lance, were they still being played by Janice Lynde and John McCook, or had Victoria Mallory and Dennis Cole taken over by then? Did Victoria's Leslie ever cross paths with Brad before he was written off the canvas?

Janice Lynde left Y&R in early 1977. Victoria Mallory took over shortly after and interacted with Tom Hallick's Brad till 1978 when Hallick left the show.

Leslie got preggers by John McCooks Lance in late 78 and had Brooks in 1979. McCook left Y&R in 1980 when the show expanded to an hour. Dennis Cole was hired and played Lance till 1982.

  5. I got my second volume of season 3 the other day (who ever decided to split seasons up needs to be shot). Jack Coleman is so drippy as Steven. I crack up how they made Sammi Jo obsessed with eating. In a breakfast scene she was telling the maid she wanted both sausage and bacon. She then grabs a hand full of sausages, crams them in a roll and scarfs them down.

Jeff poisoned from the toxic paint is just so hilariously cheesy, even by 80's standards. Gordon Thompson can be campy as heck. It's funny to hear him hurl insults and slurs at Steven, but I think Adam is the one light in his loafers.

  6. All I kept thinking was:

    - why did they need to write "gel" on the table? Did they think we didn't know what they meant when they said the word "gel," so we needed a visual demonstration? Or was someone leaving a clue for a murder?

    - why was she cheating on Yanni?

LOL at Yanni. The gel demonstration is bizarre.

80's commercials could be off the wall. Like the douche commercial where the daughter and mom are having breakfast and as she's pouring coffee she whips out a bottle of douche from under the table and sits on display and continues the conversation. Then there were those uncomfortable Stayfree maxi pad ones with Cathy Rigby. In one she was talking about overnight trips in a hotel room and pulls out a huge box that only someone who was bleeding like a stuck hog would need.

  7. Yes, Antenna TV still airs Bachelor Father, a show I've grown to love. That Sammee Tong is hilarious. Weird I guess, but JF looks very average to me on BF, he looks a lot more "dashing" with the grey hair as Blake.

Geesh, can you imagine what George Peppard would have thought of Joan Collins!? He would have [!@#$%^&*] a purple turd watching her meteoric rise and dealing with her diva ways.

LOL....George Peppard was a horrible person and didn't get along with anybody. He got Melinda Culea kicked off A-Team and told her it was a mans show. I also read he didn't like that Christine Belford was cast on his old series Banacek and thought it was strictly a mans show. He ended that series because he didn't want his ex-wife Elizabeth Ashley to get any profits from it because of their divorce. He was kicked off Password Plus in 1979 after he started fighting with the judges over the game and went on a rant.

John James said when he introduced himself to Peppard, he blew cigar smoke in his face and walked off.

  8. The Farmer's Daughter was supposed to be on Antenna when the channel first started, but there were issues with digitizing the master tapes or something like that idk

I remember someone posting on another board that Sony didn't want to spend the money digitizing the 35mm master tapes of Farmers Daughter and the went looking for the 30 year old 16mm tape transfers that CBN used and couldn't find them and told Antenna TV tough luck.

FD is now going to be on of those shows that will probably never see the light of day again. Older shows are neglected and the companies don't want to spend money releasing them.

  9. As iconic as John Forsythe was as Blake Carrington, he will always be first and foremost Charlie Townsend to me!!!!

We get used to certain actors in certain roles. I use to watch John on reruns of his 60's tv series Bachelor Father. A lot of people think of Linda as Audra Barkley of Big Valley.

Back in the 80's there was a network called CBN (before it was renamed Family Channel) and they would show both of those shows. They also use to show a lot of other retro shows like Hazel and The Farmers Daughter (when was the last time you saw that show in reruns ?)

  10. I still think Dynasty was the campiest of his shows and The Love Boat was the cheesiest - and I mean that as a compliment!

I like Love Boat too. I have been watching that on TVGuide network. I saw one a few weeks ago with Tori Spelling as a kid, and she was not cute then either......LOL
