I actually didn't mind Dex having no ties to the canvas. It feels like everyone on GH has become someone's long lost child these past few years. Sticking him with Joss and her friends all the time was weird. Dex seemed too old for them. In typical GH fashion, the show had no idea what to do with Dex and just kept him around to give Joss something to do. The Sonny stuff was silly because it never really went anywhere. Sonny found out, beat Dex up, and.........the end lol.

I know Ron's left the building now, but I could actually see EH as a Tripp or Joey recast on Days.😂

I can't believe his exit made news anywhere but SOD. Glad to get MB's thoughts on Evan Hofer's acting.😂

Yeah, Joss as a character mostly annoys me, but I do think Eden's a decent actress. The problem with GH for me is there are a lot of characters I just don't feel passionate about. I don't love them or actively hate them. They are just there. I don't have any personal investment in them. I think that's why I still like Sonny and Jason. I obviously know they both have been ruined and are awful, but they at least made me feel something once.

As everyone knows I am not the biggest Ava or MW fan, but it seems a bit silly to me. I will say Ava had lost her way as a character and PM was pivoting her back into villain territory which is where Ava should stay. Then again, I am an active Sam hater and I probably wouldn't have gotten rid of KeMo either. I never thought Sam was useful, but she had history and a decent sized fanbase. I am not sad about losing Sam-just a little shocked. I would have fired at least 10 people before her. I liked Dex fine. You could have done something with the character. I won't miss him, but at least he and Joss got some actual sexy love scenes. Like someone said above, Joss is veering into Maxie territory with the dead boyfriends. I thought she did a pretty good job yesterday with the material.

I definitely thought Ava was on her way out in the brief PM regime. I say kill both Valentin and Charlotte off and make it clear it was not Lulu's daughter to begin with. Hear me out though. I actually felt bad for Eden McCoy to have to play out scenes of a second boyfriend dying, especially since she lost her mother. I know her mom didn't pass away that recently, but I still sort of felt sad for her

I don't think PW's Chanel was ever meant to be long term, but the character caught on. IIRC, PW was attached to an entirely different project so Days knew she was short term. I liked her. RB just gave the character more layers and worked with bad material well. I just don't think PW's Chanel was supposed to be anything more than a way to give Paulina some depth at the time. I like CB's Gabi lol. She's a mess, but I enjoyed her. John Black level legendary. It's like they move each one on their own so expressively lol.

Hard to say with PW as Chanel. She was only on the show for such a short period of time. I just instantly liked Chanel. I doubt PW could play the material RB has been given and I do think it was a good recast. I just always liked Chanel. JJ/Lani were better. I also sort of like Gabi/Eli (don't yell at me). They were interesting. Eli/Lani tend to be dull.

I liked the first Chanel lol. Precious Way had a very sing-songey way of delivering her lines, but she had great screen presence IMO. Talia just had an intense eyebrow acting situation going on. Lani has had better pairings than Eli, but I do like them together. They are such an attractive couple lol.

I feel like Jada might be weirded out Shawn slept with her sister although I always thought Shawn/Jada had interesting possibilities. It would probably go nowhere like Shawn's brief fling with Lani.

Were there any light hearted stories during this period? I took a brief glance at the yearly synopsis available and it appears to be Doug/Julie's wedding and maybe Dougie's birth lol. I am wondering if the show felt depressing day to day. It's so hard to tell from recaps only because sometimes they only hit the important beats and not the overall feeling of the show, but it sounds awful lol.

This was maybe 15 years ago and I still wondered if the kid was only watching 80's movies or something because that wasn't a thing. I just did see it happen with my own eyes lol. Also, how does Ava not know she doesn't have any money? You would get a bank alert or something, right? All American is where I think they are going with all of this because, of course.

So unrelated to GH, but I worked in retail management and I once had a teenage employee cut up a customers declined credit card because that's "what he saw on tv" and thought that's what you did with the card. It didn't go over well with the customer.😂

I feel like Erica and Viki had their day. Sure, it was cut shorter than most would like, but I don't think you build an audience with 70 year old plus characters from other soaps these days. Find some good younger hires, build up the 20-30 scene, and grab a few returns people want. Anyhow on to today's show, I liked that other characters had to comment how hot BLQ/Chase were because you literally can't see it. Fantastic that everyone is now a college football fan. How convenient. Poor Trina. This is the most basic, teen rom com storyline ever. Is Charlie's closed? And Kristina is re-opening it? I thought it was running, but without a manager, leader? Whatever, she's still unlikeable. Must be nice to be gifted a free business when you actively act like a crazy person with no accountability.

The actor that plays Aaron is not good at acting, but he's endearing and charming so I don't mind him. The awkwardness sort of works for the character at this point. He seems like a real teen while Holly/Tate are too composed for their troubles. Sofia is the star here though. I love her.

I don't think I would mind that, but it still feels pointless. A cute shout out to past shows, but a little gimmicky. It also gives me a headache to think about because you have to figure out who exists in the same world as GH and who doesn't. Lol! At least Carly/Sonny are GH characters though. They may have contributed to the downfall but at least they have a history and some good moments in Port Charles not in Pine Valley.

I guess I don't get the point of bringing actors from canceled soaps over to a new soap that is struggling. I don't want to offend anyone because I know Viki and Erica are iconic, but they couldn't save their own soaps. Obviously the fault doesn't lie on them, but I am still failing to see the logic behind a move like that. The show is having a hard time making Lucky's return work with years of history and the original actor. What would the show do with Erica Kane? Plop her in the middle of the canvas and have her start a rivalry with Eva La Rue just for old times sake? No thanks. I do think the pop in appearances with Nora or Jackson work better. It still seems unnecessary to me though.

No offense to the lovely Susan Lucci or Erica Kane, but if FV shells out the money for Susan Lucci and her AMC character I would be done with the show (or just storm the GH studio and be put in jail lol). There are several GH characters that could be brought back and add to the canvas and we all know who.

I hate her less than Leo, but she is so stupid sometimes. Sonny has already completely forgotten about his ex wife Nina. With all the Kristina and Ava stuff going on plus him trying to woo Bigot mom, does Joss really think he cares at all about Dex? Like Sonny was waiting all these months to carry out the lamest stabbing ever? 😂

Marlena said "John gives his love as well" so that ruled him out immediately. Other than that I have no idea. I thought Liz for a hot minute because I momentarily forgot Kellam was dead and also raped Marlena lol. I really am assuming Deidre had a friend that's dad was turning 90 and just snuck that line in.

I was trying to figure out who Marlena could possibly talking to today on the phone. I wonder if it was a real life shout out to a friend or something.

I know it's a minor point, but Joss is so self centered to think Sonny still cares about Dex lol. He's killed an entirely different man since then and hasn't mentioned Dex in months.

It's like Ron literally pulled a name out of a hat for any 80's character and was like "SEE I RESPECT HISTORY!!!" and not a single person on staff did more than read the character's (brief) wiki page lol. Since Genie appears to have no love for Diana or Days I have a hard time imagining she'd do anything lol. I'd be interested to see Genie play a woman scorned with an agenda though..But to be fair, Roman/John didn't actually do anything wrong to her lol. She left him.
