  1. If you continue watching you will see Katherine's trajectory is just a mess lol. You make a very good point about seeing something for the first time while I am looking back in hindsight. I think it's okay they fired CC/Julia when they did, but there were so many opportunities to bring Julia back. While I do understand wanting to make a big hire like MBE work there were a lot of ways to go if you inserted Julia back into the fold with the Q's, with AJ/Ned, with Brenda, etc. Julia just fit more organically than Katherine ever could into that Ned/Lois drama. With Jagger and Karen there were definitely beats to play. I just think the end result of what we got in 1996 was better than what it would have been with them. I fear Jagger would have taken the place of Jax in the Sonny/Brenda triangle and Karen might have taken the place of Robin in the Jason Morgan story. Obviously there were other ways to move Jagger/Karen into different orbits, but I think both of those scenarios were likely. I do wonder if GH were somehow able to keep ASJ/CS until 1997 if they would have been able to help stabilize PC. I think having a younger popular established couple would have helped keep the initial idea of PC alive instead of the craziness it devolved into.
  2. Yeah, I edited my post. For some reason I thought it was GH. I really didn't follow OLTL, but knew BB was a bit of a mess lol.
  3. I swear I remember he taped one day and then had to be recast for "personal reasons". Maybe I made that up? I'll see what I can find on google. ETA-It looks like that was for his OLTL return. I must have gotten that confused with GH. It appears Cole was always temporary to usher Starr in.
  4. I am not defending the Cole/Starr/Hope crossover, but I think it was so brief because there were major issues with the actor playing Cole? Didn't BB start taping and had to be immediately recast? That could have forced or made RC scrap some plans for the story.
  5. Oh, believe me, I have expressed my hatred of the OLTL characters coming over to GH. It was just odd to end Cole/Starr/baby's vaguely happy ending just to shoe horn Starr onto the canvas. And for nothing. She was Kiki a few months later lol.
  6. It was fine to kill off Cole, but killing off the kid was pretty harsh lol.
  7. I think the name was just explained by the fact she was from Quebec or French Canadian lol
  8. But I don't even think Charlotte was the original plan. She was Nathan's unknown ex-wife and all that jazz before the kid popped up right?
  9. I think Claudette married Nathan to get her American visa because she was French Canadian and wanted to live in New York? That's.........not even interesting. I don't know how anyone think JPS is a catch lol. The only time I thought he was mildly popular is when he was paired with Nina. Yeah, I still don't know if the Pikeman story is over and I definitely couldn't summarize the details coherently at this point.
  10. It was baffling because if she was Frank's buddy, why was there no plan for the character? Or why was it such a bad character? I swear every single day a new secret came out about Claudette and her past and I sometimes wonder if FV was intentionally sabotaging her lol. Same. I tend to forget Jessica Tuck played Chad's mom on Days too! Bree Williamson is definitely an acquired taste. Someone will have to explain her appeal.
  11. I don't believe Bree or Claudette ever belonged on the show, but that had to be one of the strangest character introductions I have ever seen. The paternity saga was not only confusing, but involved Nathan, Griffin, and Valentin. None of these males were captivating or long running enough to make me care. Then all of a sudden the show forgets everything they told us for the last months about Claudette and just makes Charlotte Lulu/Valentin's baby. Claudette wasn't a defined character to begin with and they just kept throwing more backstory on top of her. I have doubts any actress could make that character work and certainly not Bree with her moderate level of talent and popularity. I am not sure I have ever heard someone say they liked Claudette and if they did it was because they like Bree Williamson-not the character. It's insanity to me that Valentin is still on the show all these years later. I know JPS rarely appears and he usually crying about something, but none of his stories have been good. I still don't know what/who/why Pikeman exists and that went on for over a year.
  12. I think Charlotte was an Altman/Passanante special. Claudette (Bree Williamson) carried the baby and Nathan and Griffin?/Chase? (they are the same person to me) were teased as the father. Claudette also slept with Valentin too, but that's not even the point of anything because she was just the surrogate to Lulu/Valentin's embryo situation. Frank really tried to make Bree Williamson happen on GH lol.
  13. I feel like there could have been a way where both Julia and Ned were unwittingly involved in the marriage where no one would be the bad guy exactly, but Ned would have easily been able to tell Lois if that were the case. I have to agree with you here. It would have been hard to not make Julia AND Ned the bad guys. Katherine and Ned always just felt random to me. Marrying Ned felt like a strange move for Katherine because she just wanted money and power. I never got the sense she really wanted Ned. As I said upthread, I do believe Jagger/Karen had more legs as a couple than Jenny/Paul. I just struggle to see what their conflict would be after Stone's death. I can't really see them fitting in without entering into the Sonny/Brenda drama and Lily/Jax were just better interlopers than Karen/Jagger would have been. Now bringing them back post-Sonny's departure would have been interesting on the main show when Karen came back to PC. They should have recast Jagger then because all the story happened off screen and would have been interesting on PC to play out or on GH when you add Jason/Brenda to the mix.
  14. There's modesty and there is ridiculousness. Does anyone where a sweatshirt to bed? Unless it's like freezing cold and you have no heat? That just seems uncomfortable and hot. At least put a t-shirt, a tank top or a sleep shirt on to make it believable. I am mildly intrigued by what Emma is hiding, but I have the belief it will be a minor scandal for a few months and Emma will just turn into a regular heroine like every other legacy child on the show. I am cynical I suppose. I don't disagree with your Lulu point. Just saying all Lulu's kids have wacky backstories that have nothing to do with her ever giving birth to them
  15. I know. I forgot Shawn D was in yesterday's Days episode, but I somehow remember this dreck lol. Yeah. Britt had the kid for a minute. I think she said Brad was the donor for a bit too lol. The kids name was Ben, I believe, before Rocco.
  16. Trapping Patrick was the initial goal then Britt hooks up with Nik and says it was an anonymous sperm donor I think. So both were involved, but Nik never thought he was the child's father.
  17. Unfortunately, Lulu did not give birth to Rocco either. Britt did when she used Dante/Lulu's embryos to fake a pregnancy with Patrick. I know....
  18. I remember now. I just totally forgot he was there. He didn't do a whole lot.
  19. Lol! I totally forgot he was there. He even met Doug. Sorry, BB, you are just forgettable as Shawn😂 I would say I hit the eggnog too hard yesterday or something to explain my memory lapse, but I watched at like 8 am 🤦‍♀️ Well Marlena doesn't have a kitchen, but they do send those edible arrangements through the mail so I think it's possible
  20. It's weird because I don't think Maggie/Shawn are close or that close? It was a bit odd for him to give her that present. Xander or Sarah would have been more appropriate. Shawn should have been at the Horton's yesterday instead. Brady's gift to Marlena at least felt more organic because Brady did say it was Isabella's locket. Although considering all John's gifts over the years, Marlena has enough tacky jewelry to last a lifetime. Like father like son lol.
  21. Did Kayla just call Roman "Roman Shawn Brady"? Everyone knows his name is Roman Augustus Brady!!! Seriously, the show can find a picture of John/Marlena/Belle/Brady from the mid 90's to put in a locket, but can't get a veteran character's name correct? The Brady/Marlena scenes were nice. Where was Belle? I loved Marlena talking to Carrie and Sami. Deidre looked lovely. I like when she wears her hair up. John's gift.😭 Oh, Rachel. We always knew it was you but she's such a horrible devil spawn. I love it! Overall I liked today's episode a lot.
  22. I mean their schooling is messy. Sophia's age isn't really weird. I don't think Sophia is younger than Holly by much because they keep referring to her and Holly being friends since pre-school so they've always been the same grade. Sophia also said the other day Tate and her had sex ed class together when it was clear Tate was in boarding school in Cali until last year lol. I don't believe Holly or Tate were held back. It's been said many times Holly is really intelligent so could have made up the school work. Same born in Feb.
  23. Yeah, Holly wasn't aged up from last year lol. It just her next birthday. It's also not weird for her to be 18 while still in highschool. Lots of people including myself graduated at 18 without flunking a year lol. Sophia could be 17 and the same year in school. It just depends on your birthday.
  24. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to all my Days (and GH) friends on this board!!! Hope you are enjoying the day! I thought today's episode was nice. Yeah, you can call Doug/Holly a mile away, but I thought Tate/Holly's private celebration for her birthday was nice. I am sad both Chad and Lucas were missing from the Horton Ornament tree trimming. And the idea of Xander buying Sarah red shoes was lovely, but the actual shoes looked very cheap and not Sarah's style at all lol!
  25. Surprisingly, Violet isn't even the worst part of it all. It just a sad episode where Gregory dies and Dex is all beat up with everyone begging him not to turn Sonny in. At least show Brook Lynn and Chase's wedding if it has to be from that time period. That was a happy event that is fitting for a holiday. No idea. Probably. Babies do die on the show, but a lot of them don't hence the reason we have 15 kids on the canvas right now of varying ages.
