GH: November 2024 Discussion Thread
Yeah, it's clear both are uncomfortable so just tell us it happened or have them joke or allude to it. It feels like that would be more natural for them and I don't know if BLQ and Chase have the fanbase that demands seeing them in love scenes. @Veeposted Stone's death in the Classic thread and even Robin/Stone talking about them making love in the park while he was dying was more romantic, sexy, and believable than anything Chase/Brook have physically done on screen. I don't really think Chase/Brook's interactions or love scenes are Frank's fault entirely. It just seems like he doesn't care and their beliefs are giving him an easy way out to shoot the very bare minimum. JS and AS are making it uncomfortable with the way they interact. Even if it was rehearsed, wardrobed, lit better, etc I don't know how much it would make a difference.

I wonder if BLQ and Chase just talking or alluding to sex would be better than actually having to see whatever is happening in those love scenes. Even flirty banter or them coming down disheveled and late for dinner or something would seem sexier. The first example that comes to my mind is Marlena/John on Days. Yes, I know they were/are old and did plenty of hot sex scenes in their day, but they stopped doing full on loves scenes years ago. They still seemed in love and like they were still getting it on in their scenes with Marlena's blazer buttoned up to her neck, but we didn't actual follow them to the bedroom anymore. The correlation isn't exactly fair. I just think there is a way to show love and desire with some touching, looks, or words that Josh and Amanda don't seem to know how to do.

GH: Classic Thread
I am always so happy when you post in this thread. Your replies are always awesome and thoughtful! I know they address Mary Mae's death on screen very shortly after Stone's so it's possible this episode was filmed after her death. At the very least you would assume the cast knew she was quite ill. I know Labine gets criticized a lot for making GH depressing, but this was a particularly depressing time. Robin finds out she has HIV, Stone dies, Mary Mae dies, and Jason has his accident all in very short span of time. Outside of Kevin/Lucy and possibly Lois/Ned no one is really happy during this period although I do think Luke/Laura had recently got back together before Stone's death. I thought that Lucy/Kevin were out of place in the first part of this episode. I would have honestly just had them hear the news and react. Save the duck stuff for another day and I do enjoy Kevin/Lucy a lot. That's really just nitpicking and an otherwise fantastic episode though. I think I was discussing with you months ago that Nikki fascinated me too. Mostly because everyone was so openly hostile to her in the clips I watched. I know she wasn't terribly popular and they may have had to recast, but it does seem like the show ditched her too soon. I have no idea if Nikki truly had long term viability. The whole story seemed to sort of end in a whimper though. I always thought the Jenny/Jack Kensington story felt dated even though I know Levinson was playing into current real life scandals. The side plot about Jenny lying about being a virgin felt like something out of the 50's lol. It never made much sense to lie about that aspect of her life even if she wanted to keep the affair secret. I really never liked Jenny so I often had a hard time understanding why both Ned and Paul were so into her anyhow. I also wonder if Riche was thinking about bringing Paul/Jenny back when she popped back up in labor and Ned had to help deliver the baby back in 1995. That felt so random. They mention The Eckerts bakery a lot on GH currently so I wonder if Jenny is in town still. Does she know her ex-husband is a serial killer?

Thank you! I think variety shows like the Nurse's Ball are cute and fun, but it's hard to keep getting top tier talent and actual variety. At this point we are stuck with hot guys taking their clothes off as "talent", which is fine, but not the same as Ricky Martin or Janis Ian singing. It's just not a sustainable concept year after year. The first Nurse's Ball was more amatuer and maybe Days could have gone that direction. Just regular people doing fun skits.

So, I know that's a weird continuity error, but I can almost let it slide. When I, myself, get stressed I will clean or move things around to busy myself. I could see a character just moving a few pictures around for when Julie came back downstairs. They do have a lot of them in that living room lol.

Umm..it's Chad's wife's body. Would you want your deceased loved one to just be buried anywhere or want Clyde to have her? He wants Abby properly buried so she can rest in peace and her family and children can visit her grave properly. I am not religious at all, but it's obviously not some corpse to him and Abby's loved ones.

Oh, you did not just bring up Tom/Felicia's porno romance!!!! The bane of my 90's GH experience lol. They were explicit AF for no good reason. The scenes with them "fixing" the AC at the Brownstone weren't even trying to be coy. It would never air today. It also takes two professionals like Kristina and Matt (who both have kids and were married at the time) to be willing to act it out.

GH: November 2024 Discussion Thread
I think GH is taking the stand that they are proud of following the actor's wishes. Which, of course, is nice. There are a million jobs they both could take that would not require such restrictions. As someone who's worked normal jobs like everyone else here it would be like me taking a job that requires me working Sunday. Then deciding I had to go to church every Sunday and couldn't work that day at all. It's not hating beliefs, it's just literally not being able to fulfill the job requirement anymore. They aren't willing or able to fulfill the job duties currently. Same.

Idk, this may sound harsh but if AS and JS's beliefs changed after they took the job then the job should be able to say move along and change their contract status. They are basically holding the show hostage with their demands with one of the few GH love stories the show is willing to invest in.

Does anyone know the year/date of the clip of Maggie/Doug dancing to Carmen? It's probably a question for @JAS0N47, but I have never seen it before. I don't think flashbacks will ever take the place of full episodes. Jarring or not, flashbacks don't give a whole story and sometimes the less flashy moments for a character are still memorable to me.

Again, I will say they will be lucky if there are Brook Lynn and Chase scenes still on the internet when their kids are even old enough to find them lol. I don't know you could also just explain to your child this is your acting job and it's not real like most every other actor with a child does. I have no doubt Amanda and possibly Josh feel some kind of way about modesty, nudity, and sex scenes, but using your toddlers as the excuse is pretty lame. Interesting. Not about the boundary stuff, but I didn't know the lady at the mental facility was his wife.

I liked the way Tony played it too. He didn't want to crush Lucky's dreams about Heaven and the afterlife, but you could tell he was skeptical. A very nuanced scene to pull by both. Also, it's really gross Luke was smoking a cigar in his kitchen first thing in the morning. I have watched this episode a million times and didn't notice it until I re-watched it yesterday lol.

I think he has talent too. A lot of his stories did sound good on paper even at Days, but they either drug out or came to weird conclusions. Sometimes it was the execution not the idea. I just think he can be a very imperfect, sometimes petty man. I am not sad he left Days. His time was up there, but that doesn't mean I don't think he can still write good things if he wants to.

You have to assume Ron cared because he cared about Bill. I don't think Ron is a soulless monster-just a hack. I think he took this seriously because it was a real life death of an important character and a revered man. Props to Susan for being able to act this out on screen. I can only imagine how difficult it was for her.

Lani was plead guilty to murder and served her time. Gabi's charges were dropped, so she's not currently a convicted felon. She might be for past crimes, but not Li's murder. Cady vs. Missy-you just have to choose. At this point I would just keep Missy since it seems she is willing to appear sporadically. If you want to use Jen full time hire Cady. With the way Days tapes it seems like you could spread out Matt and Missy's appearances if you were strategic. I also don't know why anyone watching a Thanksgiving Parade would want to watch a sad episode of Days after. That would actually turn off viewers casually checking in with the family.

Lol! Like hey, fam, let's all watch Days today! Holiday episode! Whoops sorry everyone-that was depressing. Football? I am going to assume the show wanted more eyeballs to view Doug's death, but tomorrow would have been totally appropriate. I never even cared for Missy/Jen much. She just always seamlessly steps back into the role even after a long absence. It makes Cady's appearance's more noticeable. Everything Jen did today just felt right for the Jen I grew up with. Since they use Jen so infrequently I would just ditch Cady all together. It's not her fault. She tries, but it jarring to switch back and forth.

Thank you for this! Such a beautiful episode. Tom/Felicia's stupid romance didn't even ruin it. I used to love Lucy and her duck, but it seemed slightly out of place in this episode. KMc was so talented as a young actress. She's just absolutely fabulous. Everyone here is, but Mo really stands out as well. I really like the Luke/Lucky conversation. It's something I have remembered for 20 years now it stood out that much. The whole show feels like a community where everyone is affected by Stone's death. The way the episode is structured is fascinating as well. Characters pop in and out. Mac, Luke, Lucky, Brenda just show up late in the episode. It's so much more organic than the show having the set characters featured in the episode in every set of scenes and that's it lol. And of course Brenda is the hysterical mess while everyone else is acting quietly with their grief. The look on Lily's face when Sonny grabs Brenda away from Stone's body is 100% worth it though even all these years later lol.
