  1. Speaking of characters of Asian descent, whatever happened to the OB/GYN that was a sex addict? Kelly? I think was her name. The sex addiction story was vaguely interesting and then got resolved and dropped I believe. She just hung around for years telling main characters about their miracle pregnancies and disappeared I suppose. She was part of that Grey's Anatomy GH hospital revival and I guess she got dropped like Kent Masters King's character did too.
  2. Lol. I thought you were saying you disliked Genzel as Skye in your first post. Sorry. I actually think Genzel was my first Skye too and I did like her as the (brief) first Nurse Ali on Days. Skye got some well deserved zingers in at Brenda at the time. I just never really bought Jax/Skye to begin with. It was so rushed. If Skye ever had any usefulness on the GH canvas RC's Skye just outlasted it by years. So many love interests, exes, parents, stories, and none of it ever hit on GH's canvas.
  3. I loved Reggie, but I don't remember him and Michael's nanny at all. It does slightly ring a bell when you mention it, but she was killed, right? Reginald just left one day and was replaced by Alexis/Dobson and i don't want to get into that lol. Again, I don't like Skye or RC, but I didn't think Genzel was bad? But I also don't think Skye is that legendary or a very difficult character to play.
  4. Frank's obviously an idiot for never even extending an offer and not seriously looking at the big picture on this. And after the 50th it's now suddenly being leaked Vanessa is "difficult". Sarah Brown has had a similar issue (while it has nothing to do with Frank). Say what you want about Brenda or Vanessa, but she's had a long history of working without problem on numerous shows and projects. She left GH on her own accord every time and continues to be positive about a potential return. She has never disparaged anyone at GH in interviews and gone as far to spin some stuff she clearly hated (JFP overworking her, the Dante story, horrible scheduling, scenes being cut etc) into an issue she had and didn't place blame. It's clear Frank has some sort of axe to grind with her or the character of Brenda. That's fine, but why would anyone put themselves in a position where they aren't wanted? We see how it worked out for PM when he dared to try to do something different. I sincerely do appreciate the "team players" that take pay cuts and roll with the punches. The actors/actresses that come in every day and show up and give their all with horrible conditions and crap writing. I also know that's someone's choice to make and not an obligation.
  5. I honestly thought you were going to say the two divas on the show were Steve and Mo, but agreed. JFP sounds like a nightmare and Frank's ego has been harming the show for years. @Contessa Donatella I don't think Vanessa demanding more money or a schedule she wants is problematic. I don't think Frank has ever extended her an offer, but she has every right to decline it if it's not ideal for her. I do find it ridiculous that JPS/Valentin gets the sweet schedule he wants while he has brought pretty much nothing to the table as far as the show goes.
  6. Lol. I remember when BAG sued her over a what he considered a "loan". I always thought that was a scummy thing to do to the mother of your child especially when it was clear VM was working and not just mooching off his 90210 money. Oh, she's much better here! Her voice is still monotone, but she seems to have actual real life emotions when speaking. I am pretty sure that's a reputation Frank put out. While I don't doubt she can be strong willed and particular, it doesn't seem like her being a diva was ever a notion before her anniversary return. She sits there smiling and laughing when MB practically takes all the credit for the pairing and her acting when he should be legitimately thanking her. Vanessa still has tons of friends from her GH and soap days. I don't think she's perfect or anything, but there isn't any evidence that's she's doing anything more than asking for her worth.
  7. I always thought Keesha would be so easy to bring back even though I liked Justus more. Keesha was on the show long enough to be established, but she basically had her whole life ahead of her. She's almost a blank slate. I honestly think Portia/Brook Kerr could have easily been a recast Keesha. I would have gone as far as giving Keesha a child by AJ. Honestly, it's better than Trina's paternity saga.
  8. Lol. I wonder if the Selina Wu actress speaks that monotone in real life or if it's an actual acting choice she's going for with Selina. Perhaps I have been too focused on JK's speech patterns for years, but do we even know what Cyrus's motivation has ever been? I think I remember some whining about his mother, but what on earth does that have to do with Sam or Dex? As for Sidwell, I have been bored since the second Lucky poker game. Tying him to Natalia isn't helping. It's still such an odd choice to completely dump Blaze but build an entire crime family around her after she leaves. It also makes zero sense from everything we were told about Blaze initially.
  9. I am going to assume being wise with investments and her Las Vegas and 90210 money keep her comfortable today. I also believe she came from a wealthy family, but the narrative varies on this. She claims to be from Indio, so IDK. So while Las Vegas wasn't a huge stretch for in the acting sense (and let's remember James Caan whored out for this), I don't hate her for knowing her value. I obviously don't think Frank has offered her anything, but I don't think she's waiting for his phone call either. All the other soaps would have picked her up at this point just for buzz if she cared.
  10. I think it was just the Faith New Year's Eve Cellar show that she had a day off. I think Vanessa was willing, but her return became so much bigger than expected and she took the buzz and ran. I do think the accommodations made by GH were awful, but she would have been a fool not to accept the offers thrown at her. Las Vegas may be a trash show, but I am sure it paid better than Gh. In 2011, I just felt like she was personally disappointed. It just clearly wasn't what she was expecting and then later Frank just decided she was too much trouble because she might actually question how her character is being written.
  11. Totally agree. It was a case of EVERYTHING leading back to Brenda and it's too much. I don't know what about Vanessa Marcil's returns have ever screamed "I am a lifer here", but whatever. I clearly think everything should lead back to her, no doubt, but when frickin Maxie/Spinelli are arguing about Brenda as if she's an actual obstacle in their relationship I just had to give a hard no to that. It's a shame they didn't expand on Sonny taking a harder look at his life though.
  12. I don't know what bq Michael means, but can I have a link to these Sidwell cooking shows? Now I am interested. I love a good cooking challenge.
  13. The wedding and the break up do make up for a multitude of sins. I will give credit to MB and VM there because they truly do seem to care about the pairing and the nuances of the reasons it always go wrong. The show seemed to have a very difficult time telling Sonny/Brenda's story in an organic way with all the pieces in front of them. There were only a few times I thought Sonny/Brenda actually liked one another even though I knew they were in love if that makes sense? It was always just a weird pacing problem. A million years in Rome and 5 minutes for Sonny/Brenda's marriage. The thing people waited years for. He should stick to that then.
  14. I remember just practically dying of laughter after Brenda heard Sonny shot his own son in the chest and said (I think verbatim) "that must have been so painful for you, Sonny. 100% more painful for Dante I am sure. I did like Brenda's celebrity Angelina Jolie sort of life, but, duh, I always knew PC was just holding back her greatness. I actually like Jason/Brenda's ridiculousness with Suzanne included more than the Sonny stuff even though I did feel like Guza tried with the rain an everything. Sonny immediately dumping Claire after just seeing Brenda was also a highlight.
  15. No it was horrible!!! Brad Rowe as her potential husband? Literally 10 times duller than Jax. Possibly duller than Miguel Morez. Brenda listening to everything Sonny had done after a decade and a half of poor decisions and immediately absolving him? Sonny knowing she was in terrible danger and peacing out and sending Jason? I die!! Although that's actually in character for Sonny. Anyhow, that's old news and it was the last of MB's stint at trying. I do think he gave some effort during the Kate/Konnie stuff right after.
  16. Lol. I might have an undiagnosed sensory issue or something, but I always feel like I am waiting for a big reveal in Cyrus's next line. And it's like "I just wanted a bite to eat here at Bobbie's". It's not a MB "I have no idea what my next line is" delivery, but it's off-putting for me at least. I haven't seen much of China Beach and it's not easy to find. I could see it working better in that scenario instead of just roaming around a middle class town in Upstate New York for no reason. I can see why some big names attached themselves to GH for bigger returns like Benzali. It sounds like a pretty decent gig. I do think the more experienced villains/actors were just better at spinning a tale and menace. No one's going to tell me sobbing poor man's Billy Joel Valentin is scary or even a threat to soon to be PACEMAKER Sonny.
  17. I'd actually give him a rundown of facts on Port Charles, which is more than most actors can say 😂 But, you know, he works in a restaurant where most chefs do lol. Yes, Anthony and the Balkan made bold moves but I would argue they were old, crazy, and slightly feeble. Nothing menacing enough to truly be a threat that Sonny and Jason couldn't work their way out of. Faith was a much better base character as a villain. Even if she was used as basically a weird revenge sex toy. I think the show was trying to get there with Selina Wu, but she's so monotone I don't really listen to what she is saying. But did Kober always speak in such an odd way? The cadence of his speech bothers me so much and I don't know if that's a Cyrus thing or I just need to listen to Kober talk very slowly and pronounce words strangely.
  18. Lol. Same thoughts at the same time
  19. So is my husband. Can he get a job as Sonny's enemy on GH?😂
  20. It's just so tedious. Insert random Sonny villain every few years. It started off better with people like Hernando Rivera, Joe Scully the first, and Frank Smith and it devolved ever since 2nd Alcazar. No one ever wins or causes real damage and we just start over again. The origin villain stories are always thin and never memorable.
  21. I like the idea of Carly/Nina teaming up. I have always thought Carly and some of her adversaries could run Port Charles if they would stop being so petty over men.
  22. Tracy found the Skye secret out and blackmailed Skye and I think Skye ran and cried for Jax to fix it. Considering the multiple babies and baby daddies (all of different ages, genders, and backstories!!!) in the whole Rae story I agree with Tracy's logic. I think they de-Q'ed Skye to pair with Ned of all the things and then walked back on that by having Alan adopt her just because.
  23. She's not by blood. Alan isn't her father. I actually don't know if we know who her father is. Alan legally adopted this 40 plus woman though, so she is a Quartermaine.
  24. Oh, I get your point. I just feel Skye's ties to the Q's are flimsy at best at this point. I wouldn't be opposed to bringing Skye back exactly-it's just not at the top of my wish list. Then again, JJ as Lucky and bringing Lulu back were and I have been underwhelmed so far.
  25. It wasn't a compliment towards Skye. If the show feels the need to bring in a rival for Carly or Nina that has a kid that would fit into that age group there is a much better, obvious choice.
