Oh, I probably worded my post wrong lol. I was trying to convey there were much more 'desirable' targets for Sonny's enemies than Gio. As in Gio would be low on the list of targets with all the other relatives in town. I wasn't trying to point out his family was fine.

So do you think Gio is more at risk than Sonny's known relatives, exes, etc at this point? I don't. I mean, he's probably at the same risk anyone who's in the same room as Sonny is. That's not great odds lol, but I don't think any enemy would specifically target Gio over more viable options at this current moment. I don't think Sonny knows either. Even if Lois confided in Sonny about this at one point he certainly didn't know Dante was his son when Gio was conceived and I don't believe Lois knew Sonny was Dante's father. Olivia was perceived as promiscuous and said she didn't know who the father was.

Ned was arguing with Lois about her constant defense of Sonny and said she was the one that convinced Brenda to wear a wire when she thought Sonny was being shady about his business. Lois backtracked a bit and said she looked through all the money he's given to Deception and it's clean. It was truly just a mention with no real context on the Brenda/Sonny situation. The wire convincing was a group effort, but it does make Lois look even more hypocritical. Ned was also being a little dense about the danger Gio would be in for taking Sonny's money. Like there are at least 10 known children, grandchildren, ex-wives, and relatives of Sonny's in a 5 mile radius. I am sure Gio is okay at this point.

The OTT reaction to Sonny when the show made it clear Sonny was just helping Gio didn't help at all. I would certainly consider Tracy to be rootable in many ways, but the writing is slanted against her. And her standing up for Stone and Karen? GTFO. You don't even know them lol and they are both long deceased. Not to mention she only sometimes cares about Jason. I also feel like there were times when Tracy has been downright friendly with Sonny during the Luke years.

I tend to agree. I think Tracy has every single right to hate Sonny. I just think her points were off today. If Tracy said you actually murder AJ never come near my property again I would support that. Sonny is a murderer. That's enough to hate him. Bringing up Sonny grooming people when her former husband did the exact thing with Laura just feels like the whole point is missed.

Stone just mostly ran errands for Sonny and then was a barback or busboy at Luke's. He never carried a gun. In fact, Sonny was pretty minor in the business when he took in Stone so Sonny may have had ambition to be a mob boss but wasn't really anything more than a mid tier mob associate/strip club owner at the time. Jason repeatedly asked Sonny for the job and Sonny was hesitant. I don't think he had ill intent for Jason at the start. No one else was listening to Jason Morgan and Sonny did fire Jason back in the day to protect Robin and Jason hated it. Jason actually cried IIRC. Jason has shown over the last 30 YEARS he chose this job over and over. I agree about Karen 100%. I am back and forth on Brenda. Sonny didn't necessarily groom her but was too old for her. I would guess he was around 30 to her 18. The show did age her up to 21 pretty quickly though. I think maybe gaslighting her is a better term. He wouldn't tell her about business at all but would get super upset if she decided to ask anything. And he knew that being kept in the dark would make her irrational and upset. Again, I am not saying Sonny is A-okay, but I don't think he has any secret mob plans for Gio either. I don't even have a problem with Tracy calling him out. These just wouldn't be the examples I would use.

So this is going to be an unpopular opinion and I am ready for the replies. I don't think Sonny groomed Jason or Stone. I think Sonny groomed Karen and probably Brenda and who knows how many strippers. Stone was pretty peripherally involved in the business. Sonny took Stone off the streets where he was already getting into trouble and he got sick too young for me to say Stone would have been Mob enforcer #1. I think Sonny mostly did right by Stone and I don't think his endgame was to manipulate Stone. I do think he considered him a brother. I can see the argument for Sonny grooming or at least taking advantage of brain damaged Jason. That's valid. But Sonny's given him multiple outs and Jason is a 50 year old man making the same mistakes over and over. That doesn't exactly absolve Sonny, but IIRC Jason was ready to just get out of town forever when he asked Sonny for a job. I honestly don't mind Tracy saying it out loud, but I think the actual writing for Stone/Jason/Sonny was a lot more nuanced back then. And Tracy didn't even know Stone and really doesn't give two craps about Karen. Suffice to say I know it's me and I am the problem and the Sonny apologist. I am just not sure Tracy has much of a leg to stand on here when the love of her life was a literal rapist who she still reveres.

Not sure. I assume he is. No one talked about him leaving and since Molly still gets a pretty large amount of airtime and perspective I would think she would at least mention the fact TJ is gone.

Both Sonny and Carly are stuck in these time-wasting pairings that are moving at a snail's pace. Neither are viable, but Sonny and Carly will never be backburned like Lucas/Brad or Teri/Yuri, who seem to hang out with TJ in the non-filmed part of town. I don't dislike current Molly. I think KV does a good job. I also would have had no problem letting TJ and Molly leave the show when HP was fired, skipping the whole surrogacy plot, and bringing Molly back at a later date-with KV playing the role. The multiple Molly recasts and a new Kristina in a short span of time felt like way too much.

I know some people were into Carly/Brennan when CM was in the role, but it really was just a whole lot of nothing for months. A few kisses and a lot flirting, so what? Carly will get over it. Perhaps if they were a bit more serious before the role was recast there might have been a chance. GH was spinning their wheels for months on this pairing and I never invested. Brennan as a character is useless and unnecessary to begin with. No loss when he leaves.

Oh, no you are correct. I was thinking this is just not the most ridiculous part of the story. I was just imagining Jason taking a young Joss to a shooting range and that made me laugh.

I'll preface this post by saying Joss Jacks "superspy" is a really idiotic story. Given the people she's been around her entire life and the fact she killed Cyrus I do believe she can probably use a gun.

Yesterday AnnaLynne McCord shared scenes with Marlena and I was thinking how she would have been a much better recast Belle than whatever idiotic character she's currently playing. But that's for the Days thread. I don't want to go down the HP firing rabbit hole again, but I agree. I actually do think Vaganos is pretty good. But they should have written Molly and TJ off for a while instead of recasting Molly 4 times and having TJ just work on the other side of the hospital where nothing happens like he is these days.

I just hope Jamey stays far away from John's final story. I couldn't take him ruining that.

Haley Pullos looked too young to play the surrogate story and this current stuff. And, yes, it was very noticeable when OldMolly was playing the part lol. She looked 40. The current Molly looks older than HP of course. I believe KV is 28 which is what I imagine Molly's age should be. She's probably been aged up a bit since HP left the role. There is no way Cody isn't 40 given the whole Dante/Brook/Gio story. Dante and Cody are older than BLQ. JK looks his age (42). In real life, that wouldn't necessarily give me a pause. Molly seems pretty mature. I just think about DZ playing a full grown adult when Molly was a child so Cody just seems like an entire different generation in age. Don't even get me started on MM as Belle. Yes, she looked like a 40 year old soccer mom from the jump lol.

When is the last time they even showed TJ? And honestly, I wouldn't be against that pairing but it's very left field.

I thought Perry Chen looked good. Not my type exactly, but it's not like he's horribly out of shape or anything lol. But I thought Sean Kanan was hot when Ron was writing fat jokes about AJ so taste varies. I am 100% not directing this at anyone here because I adore most of you, but we (myself very much included) rag on Amanda Setton for wearing 17000 layers of clothing, but then rag on Perry Shen for going shirtless.

I thought she did decent work with some of the Franco death stuff and the aftermath. She also did well with her mother and father coming back. The storylines were awful and I don't have a lot of nice things to say about them, but I though RH was good acting wise. I don't think any of this was Elizabeth's character's stronger material though. She's been holding up lesser characters for years.

I don't really have much of an opinion about Cody and Molly as a long term couple. I just find the whole situation strange. Molly and TJ were together for, what, a decade? They were life partners and were ready to start a family and now they are just done. TJ's disappeared and there is no follow up for him at all. Cody was more upset about the demise of his relationship with Sasha, which barely got anywhere, than Molly is about the dissolution of her long term partnership. I really could care less about Molly/TJ as a couple, but this whole Cody/Molly thing feels rushed. I also think Cody is kind of old for her. Knowing Cody's previously relationship history it will probably take him 2 years to get to first base with Molly though.

Has the Dimera mansion ever had a dining room set? I am sure they have. I just can't recall it. Maybe in the 90's when Kristen/John lived there? The lack of a dining room set really bothers me at John/Marlena's house. So many people live there and they seem to just eat on the couch.

Jane Elliot is worth every penny. I just think the show is at the point where solid performers (and returns like JJ) can't save the show. I am not even sure Queen Vanessa could save this mess. The cast needs to be cut, the focus needs to be more dialed in on storytelling and things actually need to happen. All the momentum the show had with Willow/Nina/Drew/Michael has just been lost at this point-and that was clearly the most interesting story. The show looks decent, they have a talented cast, but the writing is almost always in neutral instead of kicking it into high gear.

I think eventually the excitement of BTG will die down and this thread will go back to normal. The Days thread has always been kind of dead. It's not really a chore for me to watch, but I often multi task while watching even more so than I do with Days. But I have basically been bored with GH since 2013 and still watch lol. Yup. It's strange a show with so many cast members like GH has so few interesting ones. Or something interesting happens and you don't see the character for a month and forget. You can basically drop 425 of the cast members and add 5 or 6 better ones and the show would be fine.

This daily thread used to be the most popular one on the board and now no one cares lol. GH has been creatively struggling to do anything exciting for a long time. It's not ridiculously horrible like Days, but it's just dull. It's not even just the wash, rinse, repeat with Sonny/Jason/Carly show. Everything has stalled.
