I have to believe that was the initial idea in 2017. The way Oscar spoke about his mother like it would effect Joss in one way or another and was so dramatic. And then it ended up being........Kim lol It's absolutely Frank. I think the rumor was he was put off by her diva behavior at the 50th? Or she wants too much money? It's seems like a no brainer to try especially with the actors shenanigans he allows now. It's not like MB is blocking it. He panders to that fanbase practically weekly. And seems to be actual friends with Vanessa. Vanessa herself seems willing. She hasn't been attached to an acting project in a couple of years now. Unless she wants to retire from acting this seems like her best bet. She is one of the few actress on soaps in her age range that could command a good salary and actual buzz. I don't worry about it too much. I doubt we have seen the last of Brenda/Vanessa on GH. They will bring her back when Frank gets fired, as a last ditch attempt to save the show, or when it gets cancelled. As long as Sonny is the lead on this show she continues to stay pretty relevant and easy to plug in on the canvas.

I mean it's just a idea, but Paulina seems more like Roman's type of woman. We've seen him with a few OTT women like Anna and Kate. It's early in their story like someone upthread said, so I'll see how it plays out. JR/Abe hasn't gotten so many mentions in this thread in years. Not since Lexie was alive lol! I find Lani/Eli very boring. I like them and the fact there are stable, but they need a bigger problem than Chanel seeing Eli naked repeatedly.

I just think the TPTB lost interest in both Val and Val/Abe. Much like they lost interest with Kayla/Abe and Kate/Abe. I think it's difficult too because Days already has severe pacing problems and I don't JR has a high amount of guarantees. I think he appears about as much as JT. I actually think part of Val's problem is that her/Kayla fill a similar role at the hospital. You generally don't need both of them treating everyone. I think that's why we hardly ever saw Sarah work as well.

You are allowed to hate Brenda, but you are not allowed to compare her to Carly in such a fashion. That's just cruel🤣 The only reason I don't chuck something at the tv when I see Carly is because I like Laura Wright. Everyone has had 10 years to recover from that Balkan mess. Brenda's fresh again!

They definitely were much more natural together. I think a lot of it is JH though. She plays it so OTT and JR just is more lowkey. Tbh, I don't mind the pairing, but do they really have anything in common besides being the only two black actors of a certain age lol? But then I guess Paulina's only other option would be Roman, which I might not be against?

Yes they teased Abe/Kayla and Abe/Kate. I think I liked Abe/Valerie better too. It's not that I mind an Abe lovestory. It's just I am not sure I need to see the morning after with Paulina lol. Since 99% of Abe's romantic stories have played off screen (outside of Lexie), it's weird for this to be on screen and so sexual. But I am not sure anyone can make that dialogue work. I always picture Abe as fairly straight laced and that's why Lexie cheated on him so much lol. So them talking about lesbian dreams is just weird.......

I *think* the character of Peter could be mentioned, but not in relation to Peter/Jen. Basically, the Peter/Jen/Jack stuff was just wiped out of Jennifer's history. With Kristen also off the show, there wasn't a ton of reasons to mention him. It was just obvious when Jen would recap her history or romantic history and not mention Peter at all. It's really stupid because I would have never noticed it if Jen mentioned Peter a few times in passing. It became more noticeable when she went out of her way to avoid it. Yeah, she can stay gone lol Did anyone else find Abe and Paulina cringeworthy? I appreciate Days trying with the sexual fluidity stuff, but the show is making it awkward and clunky. JR looked embarrassed. It's just a lot to hear about Paulina's sex dreams...But it's better than talking to a teddy bear. Thank God, Eli was a voice of reason. For someone who cooks Italian all day, Ava sure is skinny. TB is just playing Carly lite with Ava this time around. Slightly less weepy than Kim Nero, but without any of her Carly's bite. BORING.... Didn't Ava briefly date RoboJohn? I am pretty sure they were sleeping together. Is not something the show mentions? Have they even shared scenes?

There are a couple of playlists on YT devoted to Brenda's 2002 return. They are just Brenda edits. I don't know if you can get the whole show on YT from that time period, but she basically is the whole show so you aren't missing much. Maybe some JY's Lucky and Liz lol. KM and GV were good together. I liked Lucky and Sam. I am not much of a Liason fan, but what a waste of a pairing that was. So much build up to nothing lol. I think it would have been easy to make Sam crazy, write her off for awhile, and then bring her back if necessary.

She would have been unemployed a few years later lol? GH was definitely the right choice for her for career longevity. KeMo clearly isn't someone looking to challenge her acting lol No arguments here!! I NEVER think Brenda is tired either. She is an icon. 2002-2003 Brenda was genuinely awesome. Problem with KeMo is Sam never really got any characterization. She went from Brenda clone to Jason appendage. She is supposed to be bad ass and ride or die, but she doesn't appear to be either of those things. The show could have gotten rid of Sam a good decade ago and no one would have noticed. It's clear SBu is capable of making other pairings work fairly easily. The show honestly should have had her go full on crazy villainess in 2007 and wrote her off from there.

I am going to have to strongly disagree that Brenda was tired in 2003. She legit revitalized the show at that point. Was she a little too much of a Jason shipper? Yes, but the show gained almost a million viewers that left when she did just solely based on her presence. I am not saying the characterization of Brenda was perfect but she was definitely a moment back then. Kemo was good on PC no doubt, but it hasn't translated. She's too low key to ever be a factor. It's partly the Jason pairing at fault, but she gives minimal effort.

I am surprised you thought she was fresh in her first year when she was a complete Brenda clone literally inserted into VM's stories when she abruptly left. Once she moved out of that and became more of her own character she was okay. Kemo was best as a villian/vixen during the Liz/Jason/Sam stuff. I would honestly say the shelf life for her character expired about a decade ago. KM is just one of the most low key and lethargic actress I have ever seen in my life. I do think there were periods where Sam and Jasam worked, but she isn't anything special.

The seeds of Stefano's obsession with Marlena started at Maison Blanche when Marlena stripped for him to set John free. You could argue that he's always been weirdly obsessed with her because he wanted to kidnap her and the twins after Roman died and did end up kidnapping her in 1987. I thought Jarlena's affair and the guilt of that and the end of her marriage left Marlena vulnerable to the devil. Like cheating on your husband a couple of times is such a sin the devil just swooped right in🤣, but I swear that was part of the narrative as well.

I haven't heard a lot of outcry. A lot of people say it would be better if Missy played this or that, but I think the consensus is Cady did a fine job. I haven't seen many complaints even from online Jack/Jen stans really. Just disappointment that Missy wasn't there. To be fair though, I think Jack/Jen stans are used to this stuff. Both Jack and Jen have been recast and off and on the show for years now. I consider Jen important, but not in the league of Marlena or Hope. I am nowhere near a Jen stan-I can take her or leave her. I thought Cady did a great job, but a few times I wondered how Missy would play that or felt CM was off on Jennifer's vibe in certain circumstances.

Maybe? But I figured it was mostly about the heat she got for her racist views and tweets. Cast members spoke out against her, so I don't think it would be the best environment for all involved. Or the show or Ken may have strongly suggested she take a break.

Weren't there also rumors Missy was a bit of a partier and or serial dater before she married him? And she certainly wasn't as devout? It has always left a bad taste in my mouth even before Missy's other behavior. I don't care she had an affair that happens all the time. I don't care she wanted to save her marriage, but it makes me feel like she basically dictated what she wanted twice. First by bailing mid-contract then by having say over her story and casting decisions. I am not saying Peter is necessary, but he has always been a strangely absent character over the years.

I don't think it was the Peter stuff was part of the court settlement. But it's rumored to be an agreement upon her return that he wouldn't be mentioned or brought back in any form. It is a fact. It was in the actual court documents. They were leaked online years ago or possibly just public records. I am pretty sure if you google it you can still find them. She allegedly called Ken Corday one night saying Scott found out about her and Jason and she had to quit effective immediately to save her marriage. I mean they are still married and they did hire her back for several years, so whatever works I guess. You know Scott still holds it over her head in every argument though lol.

I remember them heavily implying Chloe was Stefano's for a minute there. And then they went with Craig, which made no sense because why would Nancy hide that all those years? I really don't like the option of John or Stefano for Greta's dad. Stefano has way too many kids and Greta was so annoying and cloying with John. If I had to chose I guess it would be John, but there isn't much drama there. Marlena might have been slightly irritated, but it was before they met so who cares? If they wanted to give John more kids it would have been better if they busted out a 1986 Jarlena kid raised by Stefano that was bitter and hate Jarlena. Regardless, it was crappy to leave the audience hanging about Greta's parentage when she spent the entire run of her character trying to figure it out. Perhaps they thought they'd bring her back? The Jack story was awful but I thought MA and JM had chemistry.

Stafford and Mo together would be so much shouting and mumbling. She is one heck of a scenery chewer and let's call Mo an under actor. It would have been a mess. Plus, she 10 feet taller than him. This might be unpopular but I did think MS and Ingo had good chemistry as well as her and JPS. Better than CW. Mattsson is pregnant IRL. She didn't announce until a week or so ago, but that is why Sasha has a 3rd trimester baby bump all of a sudden. I wouldn't mind Chase manipulating the situation, but Chase can do so much better than these fools I kinda want him to just cut his losses and find new "friends". This is probably unpopular, but I have never warmed to Sonny's house and never liked any version of the set. I vastly prefer the penthouse. The penthouse fit Sonny much better stylistically.

She still looks good. She does seem to have a lot of botox though. She's quite a bit older than I thought though. She's 53. 10 years older than Jensen and only 4 years younger than KA. She played much younger than that on screen. I can't think of a time when Greta would ever been useful coming back, but I guess if they don't bring Jennifer back she can hang out with Jack again.

Wasn't he a huge, huge bible thumper along with Julianne Morris? I remember a lot of articles about that back in the day and then things went the way they did with him and Terri Conn at ATWT. I didn't like Greta much. She was cute with JA's Eric and Julianne Morris was delightful, but all Greta ever talked about was finding her father and she never did! Her coronation was fun as well. I am not surprised Greta never reappeared, but I am surprised JM never landed on another soap. She was gorgeous and a likable actress.

To be fair, he did get slightly better towards the end of his first run with the Sami wedding stuff and his interactions with Nicole. And AP was one of the greenest, most wooden actors on the planet, but JER didn't actually give him anymore to do than be the hot mannequin Sami and Carrie fought over. Then he got to hang out shirtless with Greta in a Virtual Garden of Eden. No one could make that work lol. His best moment was running Sami over twice with his car. HILARIOUS!

It would have made more soapy sense to make Lani creeped out more and against the relationship if they felt the needed to tell, but she was immediately fine with it. So it was just a weird thing to bring up. I liked Gwen and Xander today, not going to lie. Allie has looked cute two days in a row. I am so happy she's losing the frumpy accessories. I thought Tripp/Allie/Chanel were cute. Tripp is obviously the weakest link in the throuple, but I still thought he was cute and dorky today.

Well that's probably a good thing in Austin Peck's case. Because the defining characteristics I have of Austin from his first run is: stupid and looks good shirtless. At least he was trying his hand at acting the second run(s). Plus, he aged better than Muldoon.
