Not judging. There's something off with 99% off Days sets. They all looked glued together or very, very blue with awful lighting lol.

I still remember them being friendly in the mid 2000's through the SSK stuff. I think the friendship completely disappeared once the DH's returned in 2011. I can't even think of anything recently where they shared dialogue. Maybe something about Brady or Will/Sonny? They do really operate in different orbits these days though. I thought Marlena might be brought into the Sarah/Renee story, but she wasn't lol.

I was going to say Melissa Archer's character on Days (Serena?-I think) and that stupid Elephant statue with the blood diamonds in it. Everyone was talking about that damn statue everyday. That statue should have been on contract lol. I don't even know what happened to that statue, but maybe Xander got it after Ben killed Serena. Or maybe Eric still has it and the blood diamonds lol.

This might be the greatest piece of information you have ever told me! I love it! I remember there used to be some hilarious posters with great gossip, but then it got inundated with a bunch of weird stans that were convinced that Steve Burton was the father of Becky Herbst baby and having a torrid affair. Which, given the recent news about the Burton's marriage they were looking at the wrong partner I think. But for a minute it had the best rumors and behind the scenes tales. Again, I wish it had an archive so I could laugh at all the posters and their funny jokes. It's weird because Deidre Hall still has the same mannerisms and pauses that she has now she just changed her style to be OTT instead of subdued like it was in that scene. The last time I remember being truly impressed by Deidre is when John died and Marlena was (briefly) all women scorned ready to get revenge on Stefano. She's done some good work with Eileen in Kristen's return as well. I honestly think you'd be hard pressed to find anything that great since she returned in 1991 though.

EM isn't horrible or anything. Meh is the perfect word for him. I don't think it helps that the characterizations of Eric and Brady are very similar. Outside of Eric being a priest (for now) there really isn't much difference between the two of them lol. I don't think there is a huge acting difference either between EM now and when he was on Passions so I don't really get the Lead Actor Emmy nom, but whatever. Good for him lol. I never cared for KL's version of Brady either, but I think that's more on the writing than him. I do think KL is closer to the right age for the part. Both Belle/Brady have been the biggest disappoints since they were aged.

Oh, good ole datalounge back in the day had the craziest rumors! I used to get a kick out them until they banned soaps or something because it was out of control. I wish they had an archive I could go back and read them and laugh again. I never heard anything like that about Suzanne. In fact I don't think I have ever heard anything bad about Suzanne at all except she might not get along with Deidre. That being said, I miss characters having friends period. We rarely see friendships on current days besides Sonny/Will/Chad.

Agreed EM is too old for Brady, but I never thought he was as good as his nominations/awards suggest. He's decent and charismatic enough but he's pretty bland overall. I have seen some of his stage/musical work and he's very talented, but it's a meh for me. Idk, I definitely respect people's opinions on RSW, but his acting doesn't bother me. I am not a Ben, Ben/Ciara fan, or anything like that so it really doesn't offend me if people think he's awful lol. JMO on this.

Of course! I still can watch that whole story today and ugly cry. It holds up really well and I like so much of the cast was involved. This may seem odd, but Tony Geary telling JJ that Stone died as Lucky and Luke was such an honest, touching conversation I will never forget it. Sonny's "you're my brother speech" is amazing as well. I honestly can say I have a copy of "Robin's Diary" or whatever that book was called that GH released in my house somewhere lol.

I love both your choices! I would cast a vote for Stone's death on GH. Everything about that story seemed very carefully and thoughtfully planned, well researched, and had a really good time frame in execution. It had very lasting consequences as well. Not just Stone dying, but Robin living with HIV which gave years of story. I might actually chose the Affair between John/Marlena on Days. If you believe Days was going for the long game in 1991 the evolution of the story was slow, but believable and the fallout was excellent and long lasting. There are a lot of stories that I think were really well paced at the time and great story, but then the show kept going back into the same well and rehashing them. IE OG Sonny/Carly or OG Jax/Brenda/Sonny/Lily.

Marlena/Maggie were definitely still close in the early 2000's. I remember John suddenly disliking her for no reason because he found her gossipy. But it has been years...Even in the 90's they were quite close when Maggie got pulled out of the closet for random scenes. I think DH/SR don't get along in real life or had a falling out a while ago. At least if you believe the rumors. It does seem that way. Suzanne was in the legendary "Never Say Never: The Deidre Hall Story" so they must have been close at one time. It's a shame because neither character really has any friends on the show and it would be nice if they chatted once and a while.

Thanks! I have actually seen her whole arc on Wiseguy. It played on some random cable station years ago. I loved it! I think her getting that job derailed her return to Days in 88 or 89, but I thought Wiseguy was a really cool show overall.

It looks more recent that 1986, but who knows? Maybe it was during the Belle stuff. It looks like a SOW pic when they used to do interesting photos. Anyhow, I think RSW is better than CB, but I honestly think CB might be the worst actor on the show lol. I like him and hope he figures it out though. I just don't think RSW is that bad. But then again I don't think EM as Brady is that good either and he gets nominated for emmys year after year. So it's entirely possible I have no taste.🤣

Thank you for bringing this over! I don't know if I have ever seen it. The hits will keep coming for Marlena in 1980. Again, I just don't know what happened to DH's acting. She really is good here. Don always comes off like a dick in this, but JA/Don are so likable as well. When she lays it out to Maggie like that you kind of agree Marlena/Don should divorce lol. Also, spoiler alert Doc!, Kellam was not innocently kissing you. That's not really a thing.

For sure. I could see Ron thinking about it, but the amount of time you would have to spend explaining it would be awful. Plus, I don't see the point in making a serial killer J/M's kid. The show doesn't feel the need to redeem him, so why do we need extra reasons to like him? Although RSW does kind of look a little like Drake. But I am going to not put that into the universe. I forgot to mention this in my initial post, but what the hell is that picture? I need someone to explain why on earth that was taken lol. Also, to all not @AbcNbc247, RSW is not that bad. I am at risk of getting called a Cin shipper here, but I don't think he's glaringly worse than anyone else. I don't think he should win awards or anything, but he's not the worst actor on the show.

I never got that theory. I get that there could be a 1986 baby, but even Ron wouldn't make it Ben. Would he? Sure, Marlena is weirdly attached to Ben but that's a huge leap. It always sounded like a bunch of fanfic to me. He would mess up timelines because he's younger than Belle/Brady, but I guess Paul is too and was born at basically the same time as those two. I know there is wiggle room, but I don't even know how you begin to explain the fact Ben was born during J/M's first marriage and Belle was born during the Affair since the affair is brought up often.

You articulated that better than I could. Do I think Drake could have played Edmund? Yes, but not the Edmund that JC played. Drake could definitely fill that role with the same co-stars, but I can't see him as a journalist per se. The character would just have to be built more around Drake's strengths than JC's. But I have a hard time imagining him as anything other than John Black/Roman Brady. I had the same feeling when about a decade or so ago people were wanting Dee Hall to go to Y&R as Nikki's sister. I am sure that would have worked, but I have a hard time picturing it. I am sure MTS and DH would have been best buddies though.🤣

Yeah. I want to stand firm one way or the other but I just can't. I like the idea, but I am not fully seeing it lol. I think Drake could have been a star on almost all the soaps, but it's just hard to picture him on them if that makes sense. Characters would have to be tweaked a lot to fit him in.

I don't feel him as Edmund as he was played by JC. It doesn't seem like a good fit for me. BUT if they tailored it to be a little more blue collar and a rough and tumble guy you can have beer with sure. But that's almost a completely different character. I don't doubt Drake couldn't have made it work on charisma and chemistry alone, but it's hard to compare with something that's almost incomparable. I am going to be honest and say I can barely envision Drake doing anything but swoon over Marlena. And well were are at it "Doc" and "Fancy Face" are the two most obnoxious nicknames of all time!!

I am trying to picture Drake as Edmund and could almost get it. I don't know if he's as dashing as the late John Callahan though. He projects a little more high class than Drake IMO. I believe Ceara was gone or on Loving at this point. Listen, Dee Hall could openly proclaim she's a lesbian tomorrow and my first question would be when is this sh*tty devil story ending...? ETA I would also profess my undying love for her work of course as well.. Yeah, I am not getting the vibe Seven Brides for Seven Brothers was much more than hot guys on a horse lol.
