I am confused about why these newspaper guys care about Sasha so much. I am sure they have a reason, but I clearly wasn't paying attention, or it fell out of my mind because I didn't care lol. Well, Joss is Carly's daughter so I think hypocrisy is just in her blood. I just think, objectively, Sonny has never done anything to wrong Joss and was pretty good to her so just shut it. I would think Michael would put a stop to any Joss/Dex stuff-at least for now.

Got it. We have to make it logical lol! I swear the one looks like Spinelli a bit and I thought it was a (more) obnoxious Spinelli recast at first.😂 I have never taken to Joss or the actress. I have no problem with people disliking Sonny, but Joss in particular used to be so smug about what a good guy was even to her own father.

While watching I was sure it was at GH by the speed of in which everyone was moving back and forth from GH to the Gym and the weird side door. But it probably makes more sense that it is just very close by and everyone knew the elevators were broken, so they took the stair entrance. Since I have no definitive proof otherwise, I will continue to pretend it's next to Helena's secret lab at GH though lol.

I paid about $260/month for cable/internet for years, so $5 a month seems like nothing to me-and you don't just get Days for that price. But I definitely understand the principal of something being free now being a premium show when the quality is the exact same. Why are we going to pay for it now when it's was barely watchable for free?

Yeah, definitely. Peacock itself needs to upgrade it's content. I thought they were doing okay with the Saved by the Bell reboot and The Fresh Prince until, you know, Will Smith lol. Even the Housewives and Below Deck spinoff stuff is good. Again, their sporting content is great I think. Depending on a 57 year old soap to help a STREAMING platform seems idiotic. So, I guess I just don't know how it will pan out. I don't know if $4.99 seems unreasonable to pay for Days alone.

Agreed. I see a lot of people saying they won't pay, but it's also a lot of passive watchers-which I don't think is Peacock's goal to get those eyeballs. I think it's to get loyal viewers and possibly new ones. Depending on the catalogue of episodes it might get quite a few old viewers as well. As it is, it doesn't seem like the episodes of Days currently expire (not in 14 days at least like GH on hulu) I will say Peacock is probably the least friendly site for users. I find it obnoxiously slow and difficult to sift through. Idk, I am 99% sure this is an awful move, but I will continue to watch. I also agree that Days would get buried on Netflix and Hulu. With Peacock's amount of content it seems it would actually be featured.

This is really sad news for me. I knew the day would come, but with the renewal I didn't think it would be now. I don't think there is any way around the fact it's a cancellation. I was truly just really shocked and almost disbelieving of the news even though we all knew it would be sooner rather than later. I know people want to say Ron or JER ruined it, but I don't think they did. Days outlasted several soaps it probably shouldn't have. It's been on the brink of cancellation for almost 2 decades. I am not saying Ron has done a good or even adequate job, but Days has gone on for a lot longer than most of us thought. It's been past the period of a magical renaissance by a writer for a long time. I don't even think an audience was there to gain. On the other hand, it doesn't change my life at all. Unless I am home I watch from Peacock. I already pay for Peacock. It has exclusive rights to the U.S distribution of Figure skating and it's genuinely live and great coverage and it has coverage of several other niche sports. It's replaced the now defunct Olympic channel with it's sports stuff. I know that probably is not an exact draw for soap fans, but if it is I would highly recommend. Plus with the Beyond Salem movies, the real housewives the next day, the housewives girls trips, and their below deck spinoffs I am fine paying for it. Anyway, I am not the 'cock's hypeman or anything, but I purchased it for the skating and was pleasantly surprised that I actual use it to watch other stuff a lot. My point is I hope people try it for Days and find a few other things to make it worth their while. I genuinely hopes this works out for Days, but I am really not optimistic.

Unless I am mistaken. I absolutely could be. But on Monday's episode (or possibly Friday's) Dex, Michael, Brando all were in that horribly white stairwell at GH talking, but Brando caught Michael and Dex talking while entering from the side door saying GH Level 1 and he was previously at the gym like a minute before. Then Dex was immediately back at the gym after that nonsense was over so I assumed it's on GH's first level/basement. Otherwise it's very, very close to GH and Brando and Dex like to use a creepy entrance to get into GH instead of walking in the front doors. Idk, maybe that's what some of the money that Sonny donated to Stone's AIDS wing went to.

I am not a religious watcher of GH anymore, but I caught the last few episodes and I am pointing out the least important aspect, but why are Dante/Sam so boring together? I've always thought KeMo/Sam were lame, but I love Dante and I feel like Dante/Sam should work. What do they even do anymore on the show? I can't remember the last time I even saw a post about them. How the mighty airtime hogs have fallen.........Sam and Mac both just disappeared mid episode the other day lol. The annoying reporter guy that kinda looks like Spinelli got more lines. I literally had no idea until today that Sonny's gym is at GH. When Brando, Dex?, and Michael were all in a room together I was just wondering why? Why are there so many guys that look so similar on this show? I also saw numerous episodes without Carly and I was stunned. Thank God Sonny was on so I knew what show I was watching. I actually do feel bad for Willow too. I think she is unbelievably boring and useless, but she really is mostly a nice person and bad things just happen to her all the time. I cannot believe it took Ava that long to knock Esme off that parapet.

Exactly. Ron has no real long game on any story. Any plot or storyline that starts decent (Sami's kidnapping, Johnny/Allie/Chanel, the Devil Possession, Charlie's murder and so on....)tends to fall horribly flat. Gwen would be anti-climatic as the killer, but I can't even think of a twist or character killing her that would make this story worth killing off Abby.

If it makes you feel better regardless of who the killer is it's probably going to be a huge letdown lol.

Lol! I repeat myself way too often. No one wants to hear how I feel about how stupid it was to age Belle/Brady so much that now they appear older than Sami for the 500th time-even if I think it's one of the more major mistakes Days has actually made in this century. Unfortunately, the show is so lackluster these days there is not much to add.

I think there would conceivably be a place for Thomas or a Thomas a few years older to play a Carrie/RoJohn or Shawn D/Bo like role to Chad. Christie/Colin O'Donnel weren't on a ton, but they were important and showed RoJohn/Bo's lives as a single dads with their own little side stories that weren't very airtime consuming. I doubt the show has time or money to do that these days, but I thought it worked well at the time for both kids. Plus, it gave the show some familial grounding as they weren't just talking about their kids. You saw them. I think it's ridiculous when mothers like Gaby and Chloe don't raise their kids at all. Tate is more understandable for Brady because it makes sense his mother would have him the majority of the time. Obviously SORASing is a huge problem, but I have said my opinions on Belle/Brady's aging so many times all I will say is it was AWFUL.

Arianna being gone is like Sami/Eric being in Colorado for years at a time. At least Will is there with her. I just don't know why Gabby doesn't at least have joint custody of her. I think they will keep Chad/Abby's kids young like Will or Abby herself. Unless Days wants to SORAS Arianna, Thomas, Charlotte, Rachel etc. The show would be better off just SORASing Holly, Tate, and Parker first I think. At least she can act. I can only imagine Nicholas Betchel cleaning up child emmys with his 'precociousness' lol

Yeah, I get the concept of the Younger Actor category-it was just weird when young teenagers like Kimberly J. Brown were against Martha Byrne in that category. I think the very noticeable age disparity made that category a joke more than the concept or actual performers. I know they've changed it a lot since then and that wasn't the actual point you were making, but I was just thinking about an Emmy award for kids after your comment. Then imagining multi-year victories for Dylan Cash as Michael on GH or Kristen Alderson as Starr if there was a kids category only lol Anyway, I was thinking about Days in general and they have never been a show to use their kid actors very well. Outside of Christie Clark, I actually can't think of a memorable child actor the show has ever had. The little girl that played Ciara maybe? Even when Days had a budget they've always had little interest in their child actors unlike some soaps that would churn out numerous young future stars. I wonder if that was a conscious decision to make major SORASing changes less jarring.

I guess this really isn't important, but when Orpheus said Marlena was a mother figure to Evan today how long was she supposed to be kidnapped by Orpheus? Did we ever get a timeline of when Marlena ended up in Stefano's captivity? I assumed she wasn't really with Orpheus for long and that Evan would think of Marlena as the nice, pretty blonde lady that used to hang out with us when we were 5-not a mother figure. I actually thought Thomas was good for a kid today as well. That kid looks like Billy Flynn. Good casting. That picture of Sonny and Ben Alex will never get old lol. It's funnier in my mind if we pretend it was Ben doing that to Sonny though.

I was kind of thinking Sarah Brown-something about the eyes of both, but TB does look similar enough to SJB that I could see that. Joss is the most LW Carly looking child, although I thought BC looked enough like Sonny/Carly's son to be decent as well.

Deidre Hall had special billing on the end credits for years. She was last and it said with Deidre Hall as Marlena Evans Brady/Black from her 91 return until she got fired. The show just didn't do it when they brought her back for whatever reason. Wayne Northrop was actually part of the WITH credits along with Deidre when he returned in the 90's as well. Anyway, I don't really think Chad Duell looks like Billy Warlock. I think he looks closer to Sean Kanan, but Drew Garrett looked a lot like Sean Kanan/Steve Burton. Honestly, I don't know who Chad Duell looks like, but there are a lot of Carlys and AJ's to choose from so he probably looks like a combo of one of them lol

Thanks! Don STILL can't tell Marlena and Sam apart after the whole fiasco AND Sam apparently having a different haircut!!? Even putting aside clear physical (and voice) differences, does Don even look at his wife or know her at all? Lol I always was intrigued by that Vietnam story and the details everyone on here had about it. I don't think Chris holds up as a particularly memorable character (as in no one would really talk about him much without the Josh Taylor of it all) but this sounds like it could have been a memorable, stand out story for him. Was that still a terribly taboo subject in 1979? Oh well, at least we know Savannah and Chris own a gym now.

Yeah, I definitely have the same feelings as you. There was nothing wrong with Garrett onscreen to recast IMO, but Duell was very good in the beginning. I don't even know if CD's skills have diminished or if he was only specifically good at playing that sad sack, misunderstood victim. It worked great at the time and his awkwardness was perfect, but it doesn't work now. I think I may have overestimated his range when he started more than Duell himself got worse. He's just a horrible lead that isn't saved by things like charisma and chemistry with co stars. I wouldn't mind Garrett back either, but I couldn't imagine him with someone lame like Willow. I could imagine him taking over ELQ and being much more savage though-which would be a good thing for Michael. I agree though it's telling DG hasn't worked much and that no other soap snapped him up.

I thought there were rumors DG was difficult to deal with and MB liked him, but not everyone else was a fan? I think it's a mixture of both stories, as I do think Duell was much more sympathetic with his puppy dog eyes and what not and I do wonder if they were thinking of having Michael be gay with as well. Who knows what they were going for originally with the prison rape story? They danced around it for so long. I felt like the story was too prolonged yet rushed? The actual timing of the reveal was smack dab in the middle of the Brenda/Balkan stuff and most of the main character's Michael's rape involved were more involved with that story. So I felt you heard about the rape, the reveal, and how Michael felt for about 4 episodes then we went right back into Brenda/Balkan and Michael ended up with Abby. It just really felt like that was not the story Guza wanted or how it was supposed to be executed. I would have to watch it again though.

Yeah, not to mention Ben was playing Austin I think-who is also much older than Ben? Wouldn't people know if Greta was married? And if not, why would Ben/Ciara pick a man that was married to someone else? Anyhow, it seems silly to connect it to all to Greta, but not use actual Greta. They would have been better off just making someone up.

Yeah, I also think the show might have been wary about giving John another kid since Zach was still his at the time as well (I think) and I remember the John/Marlena fanbase already in a tizzy about the horrible writing they were getting. It probably wasn't worth the effort with Greta already leaving. Eric/Greta and Austin/Greta really didn't go anywhere. Eric/Greta dated for awhile, but I can't remember anything they did or why they broke up. I know they didn't have sex lol. Eric might have cheated on her with Nicole or something. I don't even know if Austin/Greta were an official couple, but they did give us the Virtual Garden of Eden story. We will always have that lol. It made no sense. I would just chalk it up to Ciara/Ben being idiots in general, but the show made it seem like it was a good plan, so I don't think that's it. I actually think Greta should be older than mid 40's just based solely on the fact she was swapped out for Hope in that cage all those years ago, but JM/Greta always seemed way too young for that to be possible anyhow.

I'll be honest, I would rather them all get pardoned then all of them breaking out of jail for the 1000th time. Obviously, I would rather they all were written off the show, but it doesn't look like I can have that.
