I think it's RSW's Boston accent. It does sound weird to me and also strange he calls her Auntie. That seems like such a familiar term and Victor married Maggie when Alex was an adult. Is she really even his aunt in any sense of the word outside a late in life marriage? I thought today was just a nothing show. Important things happened, but I wasn't entertained by any of it and have nothing to say lol.

I guess this might be unpopular, but I don't want or envision Kristina as a Dr. at all. I could see her opening a non-profit or charity organization or doing something similar to the Ward House, but maybe for LBGTQ+ youth. There has never been any indication Kristina has ever been interested in the medical field. Even as a teen she seemed more interested in the law. If we are going to give Kristina an insta career I would prefer she took over Diane's job as Sonny's lawyer which would pit her against Molly as the DA and get Kristina into Sonny's business.

I am not sure the town needs another restaurant and I don't know how exciting watching Kristina become a chef is. The idea that's been bandied around a lot here is to involve Kristina more in the mob and make her Sonny's heir apparent which might be interesting. That would definitely be a catalyst for Kristina vs. Michael.

DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos
I wouldn't take anything from this picture. None of Deidre's onscreen children are even in it and they all clearly adore her. It was probably just who happened to be filming that day. Anyhow, there have been rumors about Dee/Suzanne falling out for years. It appears to have happened sometime between Dee/Drake's firing and their return. There have been a few theories over the years, but I don't think anyone will ever know. I think the most prevalent ones have to do with Suzanne/Maggie's prominent role after Deidre was fired on the show and/or the fact that Suzanne is still friendly with Deidre's ex-husband. Take this info with a grain of salt because I am not sure if it's anything more than speculation.

Wasn't Kristina thinking of starting her own restaurant and Sonny shot the idea down? I remember watching those scenes recently thinking they were so odd. I always thought it was strange neither Sonny nor Alexis pressured Kristina to finish her education or pursue a different career. They just are fine with her being a bar manager, which would be okay if they used Kristina more as a talk to at the bar, but the show doesn't.

I can't remember any scenes specifically with them, but I think there may have been a few negative ones when Kristina falsely accused Ethan of beating her or when Dante/Lulu made Michael confess for killing Claudia. Lulu was married to her brother, so I am sure they did share scenes I just can't recall anything concrete about their relationship so I suppose you could make it what you want. I suspect Mansi's Kristina will reboot the character a bit, so we will see where that goes. At this point does Kristina even have friends outside her immediately family on this show?

I thought Emme Rylan was going to be a lot better than she was lol. She certainly had a little more spunk in her previous roles. I can see why people would want Marci Miller in the role, but she is someone who really fades into the background to me in all scenes. And if TC ever came back as Nik I would be forced to remember the creepy Stefan/Abby/Gabby relationship from Days.

I think Marci Miller is a bit polarizing for people. People that like her really like her and people that don't really dislike her. I have never seen someone neutral on her. I find her dull and boring with horrible prairie dresses lol. Perhaps she would excel in a different role, but I don't get her appeal at all. All I can say is that she looks right for the part and I do think she can act. The fire, spirit, and adventurousness I would want from Lulu does not feel like anything MM has shown me on Days. That being said, I would be willing to give her a shot as Lulu.

I really have never liked Lulu either. She was so smug and JMB was Carly #2 before Joss. The only time I liked JMB's Lulu was when she was with Dante, but I also felt her entire personality revolved around Dante and Dante's interests. Emme Rylan never really felt like Lulu to me. I am very hesitant to be on board with Marci Miller as I generally couldn't stand her on Days, but I do think Lulu is an easy character to start fairly fresh with since I don't have a clear idea of what her personality is. It's criminal neither of Luke/Laura's children are on the canvas.

IIRC, Sonny was going to end up facing jail time or something and Jason backed off. It was silly, but I think it just amounted to Jason doing the "right" thing and carrying on the narrative that Jason is the glue that holds Sonny/Carly/the family together. Dante as a lead is such a fantastic idea for me. Sonny would still be involved, but passing on the torch. I don't know how I feel about Lulu being the leading lady with him (at the time), but it would be fitting for Luke/Laura's daughter to be in that position especially since Lucky's been a difficult role to keep on the show.

Jason took over after Michael was shot and Sonny decided to leave the mob. Sonny then wanted to come back and Jason told him no leading to Sonny marrying Claudia to gain more power. So, it was during those years. I wouldn't be surprised if Guza did want Dante to take Sonny down and position Jason as the main mob lead and Dante as the secondary lead moving Sonny into a supporting role.

It is icky and I am not defending it. Sonny knew her as a child. It can't not be weird, but Emily had already been married twice by the time she hooked up with Sonny. I don't know how old she was supposed to be, but I think older than 25 as well. She was in med school although I don't think she went from high school to college to med school back to back due to her accident and then cancer. I assume she was a bit older than a normal med student. I swear I am not trying to defend this, but I think Liz/Lucky/Emily/Nik were just older than that.

Absolutely. I think AT's Emily was supposed to be a bit of a brat too. Also, looking back changes your perspective. At the time I didn't think AT's Emily was that bad with the Jason stuff because Jason didn't have a ton of defenders in the beginning when he first had his accident. Now watching it I want her to shut up about how awesome Jason/Sonny are. When Emily first started her whole narrative about that Sonny/Jason were still outcasts though and it didn't bother me as much. But to your main point AT >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>NL as Emily lol

I have told you before that Brenda's return plays much better in edits than I remember. It's not good, but there are good scenes and moments. The Italian Interlude plays out much longer onscreen because every single character is talking about Brenda as well. I mean, I would talk about Brenda all day every day too, but I don't think I represent the entire GH viewing audience lol. And, yes, Brenda handwaves all of Sonny's bad deeds immediately and is his apologist. She actually says "that must have been so painful for YOU" in regards to Sonny shooting his own son and I knew we were in trouble. I don't mind VM putting her foot down. I have just always been curious where Guza was going to go with it. The kid's Dante's, then what? Where does Dante fit into the Balkan story now? What happens when Alec turns up alive and Dante is a dad? What happens to Sonny/Brenda? Lulu/Dante? Will Carly's head explode in front of us due to these facts? I don't think Sonny/Brenda getting married and divorced was the wrong move I just will forever want to know what the plan was. You know I was suspicious when Emily was hired as Sonny's overgrown babysitter, but I still had faith the show wouldn't go there. I think if there was a stronger actress playing Emily that had lights out chemistry with Mo there were some interesting beats to play there. But it was NL and it was a failure.

Yeah, that was the last time I had much investment in Sonny/Carly. I did like them in the beginning and I did like TB/MB's chemistry a lot, but that shooting made the couple fall into an absolutely toxic situation that there is no coming back from. I was always so confident the show was not going to do Sonny/Emily. I heard the rumors and thought never. I was so wrong. I am glad the show never, ever, mentions it. It really was a crazy move that had no impact on anything. They killed her off anyway. I tend to agree Ava should have more edge and I think it's still in her. It moved way too slow. Brenda spent so much time in Italy waxing about her love for Sonny and not enough time doing anything. Obviously, it probably started much better on paper and once Vanessa refused to play the Dante angle it got very bungled. All we heard about was this terrible secret and it was the most anticlimactic thing ever. It also made little sense for Suzanne to spend years infiltrating Brenda's circle to call Jason? Get her in PC where she is much safer? I would love to see the original story outline and compare it to what it ended up being. It always felt like there were massive rewrites there.

I couldn't agree more. Drake's entire Days career has been filled with questionable hair decisions, but he finally got it right by going grey. I will never forget the 80's mullet well into the 2000's, but I will forgive him now.

GH was so dark back then. For me, I really checked out after Sonny shot Carly in the head while she was giving birth. I know that's not really the same point you all are making, but that was just so unnecessary and violent. I really just remember that time period for all the characters getting killed off and/or shot. No one just left town quietly. @VeeInteresting you see parallels with Ava/Faith. I have always likened her to Claudia. Running through tons of evil deeds until you have no place to go and just have to kill her off.

General Hospital: May 2023 Discussion Thread
Probably not. In real time it didn't feel like she had that many schemes and plans, but when you read through her character bio you realize she really just kept plugging away just going from one horrible deed to the next. She did like 10 years of villainy in 2 years lol. And, yes, it screams of Pratt.
