Days of Our Lives: September 2023 Discussion Thread
I think in the preview I saw Justin was a lot more upset. I am assuming when he talks with Bonnie he lets his emotions out more? I could see Justin keeping his feelings calm and in check in front of Alex and losing it more privately. I am clearly not trying to defend any of this nonsense, but I don't think we have seen the entire fallout yet. Exactly what I was thinking. Unless he thought Alex being Justin's would keep Adrienne and Justin apart forever and that was the ultimate plan lol I left Neil out of this entirely, but didn't Victor offer to marry Angelica at some point?

Yes, and at the time Victor was a villian. He and Justin were close, but he wasn't above screwing things up for him if it was under the guise of being for Justin's own good. This is a situation that Victor would have obviously stepped in for a male heir and to save Justin from Angelica. It makes absolutely no sense anyway you think about it. Justin would have been mad for maybe 2 days about Victor/Angelica hooking up lol. Instead, let's just have him raise Alex for a lifetime and drop the bomb later. That's much better. The only way this could have possibly worked is if Victor didn't know Alex was his son or found out recently. If Alex/Justin/Maggie/whoever accidently stumbled upon it I would buy it more. I just can't imagine Victor would leave it in his will and honestly leave everyone else besides Maggie nothing. Alex finding out later and fighting for his inheritance, place at Titan, etc would be a bit more interesting than him being handed everything in a day.

I suppose GH could be just biding time until they find a replacement and are just setting BAS to fail harder so the next Molly has an easier entrance. At this point I have no idea why they didn't just keep Kriegel. At least she looked like HP and was the right age. I haven't seen anything out of BAS's acting that's much better than MK.

The thing about Justin/Alex/Anjelica is that initially the whole Angelica's being pregnant by Justin was a huge problem for him and Adrienne. It continued to be a contentious issue for years. Victor being the father would have been helpful for lack of a better word. It would have saved Justin a lot of problems in the beginning. I feel bad calling a baby a problem, but it's not like Justin was over the moon happy about the circumstances. I also have a hard time believing Victor would step aside all these years and just put it in his will letting his family deal with the fallout without him. That's just not Victor at all.

I feel like that's an insult to "cool moms" and mini-vans.😂 Alexis legitimately dress younger than this Molly. Kristina and Sam dress like teenagers. There has to be a middle ground between that and Diane. At least style her like Elizabeth who dress a bit more conservatively, but in style. It's like GH took the feedback that Molly reads old and doubled down trying to find ways to make Molly look even older.

It doesn't help the show styles NuMolly like she's 60. She looks like she gets her wardrobe at the same Talbots as Diane.

Yeah, forging Angelica's letter is harder to explain, but Brady made a huge point about how much money Theresa spent on food so maybe she quickly hired some sort of shady notary or something and paid them through the hotel under the guise of extravagant food. That seems like a real stretch, but I could see Days sloppily explaining it like that.

Days of Our Lives: September 2023 Discussion Thread
I could be wrong, but my understanding of the will and those scenes is that Alex gets to be in charge of Titan and Maggie just gets the 50% of the estate. So I was assuming Alex was solely in charge of the business and wouldn't share power with Maggie in that regard. I see your point about tension between Chad though. I just think Maggie has basically been removed from the business aspect. I am going to be honest, though, I don't see that much story from Alex arguing with Xander, Chad or Maggie or at least it's not story I would be interested in. A revelation like this should have a ripple effect on the whole canvas and it won't. Xander will have issues with Maggie regardless with the Sarah baby secret and Chad could just quit and go back to his job with Stephanie with little consequence. He already quit the other day. I do think there may be some truth to Theresa changing the will to make it appear Alex is Victor's son. How she would do that from a hotel room in a small amount of time is questionable, but I could see it being something Theresa would do.

Days of Our Lives: September 2023 Discussion Thread
I guess I don't know the point of making Alex Victor's son for long-term story. Yes, there is an immediate story, but how much is it really going to change anything? I guess he gets money and to be the head of Titan. He already almost was head of Titan and had money, so how much will that change his life? Victor is dead and Justin raised him. Where's the long-term fallout? After the shock wears off Justin will still be the dad that raised him and Alex will still continue to treat him like his father I assume. Sonny and the twins will not be his half brothers anymore, but I doubt Alex will shun them and become bff with Phillip (who I don't believe is here long-term). Isabella is dead, Bo's in a coma, Angelica, Victor, and Adrienne are dead, and Sonny and the twins are offscreen, so........recurring Justin and Alex are the only ones affected? It's a huge twist that's missing 95% of the key players and it seems pointless because there really isn't any external conflict. If the show needed to do this Xander is the much more obvious choice here. I get that it's to make RSW and Alex more relevant, but it really doesn't.

With storylines I am less critical. Hardly any of Days stories make sense and the Vivian drug lord stuff falls in line. It's just a lot of the casting decisions could just be avoided if any thought was put into them. I lost hope of the stories having thought put into them long ago, but Days casting seems to want to find the most obnoxious ways to "creatively" cast a role and it's only for Ron's pets. MM's Belle is disposable, but let's give EOB something else to do 😂. It honestly creates more problems and fan discontent than just hiring someone else to play Theresa. It's like Days actively is trying to cause needless problems.

I don't know it feels awfully dumb to: 1. not know Jen Lilley's availability 2. cast an actress currently on the show in the role 3. hire JL back only to can her after less than 10 episodes 4. Start the story then throw off everything by recasting Couldn't this story have waited a few weeks? Couldn't EOB tape scenes as Theresa to have them ready for when she exits as Gwen? Brady and Alex could have done something else in the meantime. To me the show is completely missing the oppurtunity to re-introduce Theresa with someone new by bringing Lilley back. It's like, say, bringing Zach Tinker back as Sonny to reunite with everyone he knows then bringing RSW in a few weeks after those connections have been reestablished with Tinker. If Days needed Theresa that badly either work around Lilley or go full in on EOB as Theresa. Days is being wishy washy about this and if we are going by JL's word she was transparent about her schedule and didn't spring anything on Days. The show is choosing this ridiculousness and I can't find an acceptable reason for this to make sense.

I don't like Theresa as a character that much. I think JL elevates the material and makes Theresa likable or at least understandable. I think EOB is good and there are times I actually liked Gwen, but why replace the very good og actress with an actress that has already failed us once on this canvas? Why bring Lilley back at all? It just reminds us how good she is. Honestly, if they just set out to bring Theresa back with EOB and never brought JL back it would have worked better.

Lol! No, I need to be de-SORASing like Marlena through the years if anything.😂 The show this week just hasn't inspired me to post. I am bummed JL is leaving as Theresa so I can't invest in her story. Same with Belle/Shawn. And the other days I have been too hypnotized by Talia's eyebrow acting to post. I haven't watched today's episode yet though.

I feel like there was an episode in Iceland where Gwen listened to Leo/Dmitri's dumb excuses and the last shot was her looking away disgusted like she knew they were lying. There wasn't any follow up and I can't remember the exact episode but I definitely remember a look that made me think she was on to their game.

Where is Theresa even staying while in town? Where are Andrew and Paul? They walked in the opposite direction of the Salem Inn today and it didn't seem like they were staying at John/Marlena's. Theresa was Jen's assistant at the hospital and then did fashion design or something with Basic Black so it's possible she works in that field at home. I think we are just supposed to think she's a schemer and screw up so maybe she got fired or does just stay at home.

Days of Our Lives: September 2023 Discussion Thread
I am just watching today's episode and did they have to actually move more chairs into Marlena/John's penthouse to seat 5 people? Their house set is so awkward lol. John and Belle are sitting on dining room chairs and Belle/Brady are practically sitting on top of one another and so are Paul/John. At some points Drake seemed to be just crouching behind the couch because there was no space available. Nice to see Paul/Andrew and the Black kids all in one room though. I will say I actually get second hand embarrassment when John/Marlena et all have to explain their past and lives to new people. It sounds so silly when said out loud. I don't even know what to say about Talia/Shawn. It was unexpected I guess. You would think someone would try to call his wife, uncle, cousin, etc in the pub his family owns instead of kicking him out lol. I really like Jen Lilley as Theresa. It's a shame she'll be gone soon. Johnny and Chanel are a little much. It's all a bit fast.

GH: Former Star BACK After 26 Years!
My hopes get so high when I am tagged in a thread that begins with General Hospital Actress Returns.......😂 I am super excited about this though. Can't wait to see Lois back in action. With WK and LLC both being recurring (and WK being on Days) I do wonder what they will do with Ned/Lois. And like @Vee mentioned I wonder if the show will truly tackle the fact Olivia and Lois are so similar in character.

I don't think your opinion is that crazy especially when you literally said it was unpopular in your first post so I don't think you were looking for massive agreement here lol. I really do think Tripp/LA is attractive, but Lucas Adams does look like a guy you could find at most college frat parties. I find Tripp to not even be exciting enough to hate at the level you do. That being said, I also can barely watch an episode with Gladys from GH because I have a visceral hate towards a fictional character like that and that character is one of the most inconsequential on the show. Everyone has their cross to bear.😂

Days of Our Lives: September 2023 Discussion Thread
I think Tripp is pretty innocuous. I like him now and think he's just a blandly handsome, nice guy. He was awful for most of his early run though. I can see how someone could dislike him. He certainly not the most complex character and he has bounced around with about 1000 love interests lol. If we are ranking Days characters though he would be nowhere near one of the worst characters to me. I agree about Wendy. She didn't even have any qualms about helping two criminals on the run. I know it's supposed to show she's a good girlfriend or something, but it just makes me think she's being stupid.

Definitely in agreement. Katherine just didn't work. The way GH tried to shoehorn Katherine into Stefan's story was a weird last-ditch effort to make the character liked by the audience. I suppose it was worth a shot, but it was painful. I honestly prefer 90's Stefan to anything Patch has done since he returned. I like 80's Steve a lot. I just think SN's portrayal of Stefan is better than anything SN has had on Days in the 2000's. Modern day Steve/John/Roman tend to be similar characters and pretty redundant.

I am a couple days behind and there are a lot of things I have questions and comments about, but why is Molly so mad at Kristina? They make up and then the next episode they are fighting again? Am I missing something?

Days of Our Lives: September 2023 Discussion Thread
I actually don't think Stefan as an overall character was a failure at all. There were a lot of missteps with the character overtime, but SN's Stefan was very successful launching a new era of Cassadines. I would consider MBE's stint as Katherine to be much more of a failure than Stefan. None. Especially bouncing off TB the last few Days. They both were playing Jason and Carly in one of her crazy states.
