  1. I am day behind but, nunununuMolly seems okay. And by okay I obviously mean looks a bit like Haley and not entering menopause. I'll be honest, I love the silliness of 90s Eddie Maine as much as anyone. I didn't get him wowing fans in the 90's and I certainly don't get it 30 years later. I think WK is delightful and very talented-I have always had a hard time buying him as a rocker that appeals to the masses. But, go wild Gh, I'd rather watch Eddie being a hit with the young crowd than Joss complaining about the lack of sex with Dex. I definitely don't think people were there to see stick in the mud Curtis though. I am enjoying the climax of the Sasha story. Mostly because I hate Gladys, but also because this whole wacky Sasha/Cody/Sam/Dante plan feels like a 90's soap plot with a group of friends/lovers proving the impossible in the most complicated way imagined. Instead of just researching Glady's spending history there was fake breakdowns, fake accents, fake kidnappings, asylum breakouts, and going on the run. It's enough to be entertaining to me.
  2. I do remember Angel changing from white clothing to red. The show at the time felt very boring but the stories were very complicated as well. I honestly probably thought Brenda was going to pop right back up because I was young and naive then and didn't understand what a flakey lady Vanessa was at the time. Anyhow, I agree this is when Jax started stagnating. I think the show has a history of bringing Jax back and not really knowing what to do with him so they just throw him at the current Sonny pairing. The show knew that was a good default place for Jax.
  3. Angel was such a strange character. I honestly don't remember any of this about her lol. I just remember Jax talking a lot about all this nonsense he did in Europe while he was away and I was like no wonder you didn't find Brenda. I know the show was limited in how they could explain Jax's return, but I remember tuning in wondering what Jax was going to say and it amounted to "Brenda's dead, but I found Kristina instead." and I think I tuned right back out. I think if I re-read the story a lot would come back to me. I just remember being disappointed with the return and thinking Jax really didn't belong in that story at all.
  4. I think Jax's big thing when Titans flopped was introducing OGKristina as well which was very convoluted. It was a strange entrance because he left to find Brenda and ended up with Alexis's unknown sister. Cool. Makes sense. I liked Chloe too. Tava Smiley really had a lovely, lighthearted presence. I think both Chloe and Hannah were just introduced too soon to be viable love interests for Jax and Sonny. You would swear it was Guza, but he was for the pairing. I'd probably say the same for any Sarah Brown character post-Carly. Ava was pretty popular when she was first introduced a million years and personalities ago though.
  5. Why did Paulina take a drink of Li's used martini? Gross. I don't think it's legal to just fire Trask because she doesn't like her. Paulina didn't even try to make a work related excuse. Great mayoring! Weird that Marlena and Kate just popped up in a couple of scenes this episode. It was strange they were only on for a few minutes. This Edmund stuff is crazy. He was just a nice, eccentric man. I thought Susan was still married to that guy in Memphis as well.
  6. I think the reality that Jax was a long term foe to Sonny speaks to the fact that Guza liked him. Jax wasn't crazy or evil like most of Sonny's mobster enemies of the week/month/year. Even if he lost to Sonny, Jax was more or less the voice of reason for the audience in regard to Sonny/Jason's lifestyle. As you said there was clear investment in Jax/Ingo and he had pairings that were heavily pushed like Chloe and Sam. Both of those pairings flopped big time. The Carly/Jax pairing was his most popular non-Brenda pairing. I am not saying Guza didn't lose interest or didn't have Jax do the same things over and over, but there was a clear interest and investment with Jax for a while. I believe Guza was for Alexis/Jax and Riche was against it because Alexis was 'too old'.
  7. Phillip's child with Mimi is Pocket and was given up for adoption years ago. He's never mentioned and the only kid Mimi is raising currently is her daughter with Rex. It would be interesting if Tyler/Pocket came back though.
  8. I don't disagree. Nina is a 50 plus year old woman though and being impulsive and reactionary isn't a cute character trait as an adult woman. She's supposed to be a successful business owner. Outside of the decision to marry Sonny, she doesn't seem to give much thought to anything. Even the simplest conversations. If the show explained her lack of skill with decision making and social skills was a side effect of being in a coma for half her life it would be one thing. I just don't think that's the excuse. Nina makes Carly look calm, cool, and collected.
  9. Wayne's Roman was great. I loved watching early Roman/Marlena clips when they were more readily available on youtube. By the time Roman returned in the 90's John was making Roman a bit redundant. So I am glad I guess I don't have to see Wayne relegated to serving chowder, but it's sad to see what the character has become.
  10. I agree. It's really awful parenting on Valentin's part. Why not confront Charlotte and at least try to understand what happened and why instead of dancing around all of this? Bring Anna and Dante in on it and figure out how to protect her legally. It's not like Dante really cares about the law when someone close to him is involved and he and Sam should be aware if Charlotte stays/lives with them part time. If she's starting house fires and trashing hotel rooms she probably shouldn't be around other children and getting help immediately. Pretty much every decision Nina makes is idiotic, so I don't expect anything more of her.
  11. @VeeI actually really liked early Liz/Ric until things got weird with Carly. I thought they had good chemistry. Do they belong in this thread? Am I their only fan?😂 It really makes me sad when I see clips of WN or even DH's Roman. I can't believe how irrelevant such a good character has become. I have never heard anyone praise JT's portrayal of Roman ever.
  12. I just don't think the show ever found any solid footing for Ric. Whether it was too many cooks in the kitchen backstage with Guza, JFP, Frons, Pratt, Wolf, etc or if Ric just outlived his usefulness on the show. Once you fake rape a pregnant woman and lock her in a secret room it's really hard to be a viable male romantic lead. That story with Marianna or whatever was probably one of the worst in modern GH history and that's saying a lot lol. As far as Guza/Jax, I actually think Guza loved the character of Jax and Jax/Brenda his first run because he created him/them. I would say he preferred them to Sonny/Brenda in the 90's. Guza went out of his way to present Jax as the best option for Brenda. Jax/Brenda got some very good writing all the way up to Brenda's exit. I think Guza was over Ingo when he left for Titans and then really lost interest in him when Brenda returned and he thought of Jason/Brenda. Then KeMo/Sam/Jax bombed and Jax was relegated to the only story that worked-a romantic foil for Sonny. The show really turned into Jason/Sonny/Carly after 2003 and I just don't think Jax had the same place on the canvas or was allowed a consistent POV outside of hating Sonny, but I do think Guza did favor Jax a lot once. Sorry lol I do think RH is a talented guy and I do know he has fans so he doesn't fit this thread. I just didn't like the character or his stories.
  13. Very true about Ric/Skye. They did have prominence, but there was a clear push and pull between JFP and the writing for both characters. They would never win against the big four but were also shoehorned into primary families to be relevant, although they never exactly fit on canvas they were given lots of story. I'll be honest and say I don't really get the Ric Hearst love either. I thought Ric was an absolute awful character that I had to deal with far too long. I did like him when he was first introduced and they seem to be hinting he was related to Lily and the early part of his pairing with Liz. I just think Ric is a character that should have caused some havoc in Sonny's world and left. I am not sure what stopped the Ric/Skye pairing, but I do think at some point JFP lost any power over Guza and that's when both characters faded away. Like I said earlier, I wouldn't be opposed to a Skye visit and her bringing Lila Rae to town today. I loved me some Jax/Brenda. Even as a Sonny/Brenda diehard I adored the J&B pairing. I always felt 2002 ruined them for me. Between Jax dumping Skye and then him pressuring Brenda to marry him right away then leaving her at the actual altar it was just an awful look for Jax. I actually think Jax came out the biggest loser in the entire return.
  14. You make some valid points here. I would argue that Skye was made to be a loser a lot though. Even in the end she lost all of Alcazar's money and needed Jax's help to get it back. She was a drunk and a screw up, complacent in her baby daddy's murder and un-Q'ed in the end and we still don't know who her father is lol. I always considered Skye as a character who couldn't get out of her own way and couldn't find happiness across all the ABC soaps she was on. Anyway, I am sure not all RC/Skye stans like her because of Brenda, but I think there was a lot of goodwill from the audience because she was done wrong by Jax/Brenda (mostly Jax) and RC did well with some strong material. Plus, I think Skye was an easy character to root for because if you didn't like Brenda in 2002 and watched GH there wasn't a lot for you to like lol.
  15. Exactly. I think JPL is pulling off what he's going for with the role as I think this characterization is intentional. He's just not playing Phillip. It seems like JPL is going really hard for mentally unstable and remorse, but that's all the beats he's playing. I honestly don't think JPL really gets Phillip at all. In his first run it felt like he was playing a variation of Rex instead of Phillip IMO. It honestly might be in the writing and direction as well because I don't think JPL is incapable. He's just off doing his own thing.
  16. Idk, I feel like I don't see any of the old Phillip shining through. To me he is acting like he is not ready to be out in the real world at all let alone make a play for Chloe. I thought JPL's Phillip was pretty much universally reviled so I am surprised anyone likes it.
  17. I swear my most hated post on here ever was from years ago and I said I thought RC was cold and unlikeable as Skye lol! Posters told me I was so wrong. I don't think they frequent this board anymore, but I was surprised how much people liked her and liked Jax/Skye. Like it wasn't an obvious rush job pairing to give the returning Brenda an obstacle for Jax. The show never even tried them again post-Brenda. C'mon! I do think RC is a decent actress and have advocated a Lila Rae/Skye return as you know, but she had no business on the GH canvas at the time in the middle of all the Q's. Outside his early stuff with Sami, Rafe has been useless for years. Wandering around town as an incompetent police officer bouncing from pairing to pairing. Then the show fired GG and immediately brought him back a few years ago. I don't even think it was because of fan outcry. I think GG is just a likable guy on set and people like working with him. I think we are stuck with Rafe forever!
  18. Good Sarah/Xander scenes. Both sides had understandable, valid points and there was good acting by both. Rex needs to STFU. I know we are supposed to think Rex is a good, upstanding guy, but he's kind of pathetic and creepy. Why does he want Sarah's crumbs of affection and to raise another man's child? He knows Sarah doesn't love him at all. Pack up what's left of your pride and head back to Chicago, Rex! Why is Rafe like that? Why do they write one of the 'heroes' of this show like such an ass? And Jada just sits there lovestruck or something. I agree with @AbcNbc247 fan re: Chloe/Phillip. Chloe's love life has been hard to follow for years. Sometimes it's Brady that's the love of her life, sometimes it's Phillip, and it's even been Daniel. It's very hard to take Chloe/Phillip seriously when there has been no indication she had romantic feelings for Phillip and Brady was the love of her life 6 months ago. You get whiplash thinking about it and I am not even throwing her love for Xander into this. I think JPL is playing Phillip all wrong as well. I know Phillip has changed and is struggling with mental health, but JPL plays Phillip like he's socially challenged and awkward. Almost like he can't handle the most normal social cues and emotions. Even a struggling Phillip would have some bravado and cockiness in his interactions while battling demons. At least IMO. This Phillip is completely lacking any charm or lightheartedness that Phillip once had.
  19. Anytime someone posts anything negative about Skye/RC there are a ton of fans who swear she was the greatest, that Jax/Skye was an amazing pairing, and she was robbed of all the Emmys. And I know someone will come at me now and say she deserved Vanessa's emmy and maybe she did. Whatever. I think a lot of Skye love comes from Brenda hate. And that's fine, but let's not pretend her character wasn't a hot mess of weird backstories, awful pairings, and several failed stints across ABC. That said I do think she has a few stans and diehards. I would propose GH's Courtney for this thread. I know it was all a backstage thing to push ALW, but I need to know if anyone on this board is a fan of Courtney as a character. Not because you hated Liz/Jason or Nik/Emily but because she was great as a character on her own. I think Days Rafe also deserves a place on this thread. He's been leading story for at least 15 years and I have no clue as to why. He just bops along from story to story and love interest to love interest without doing anything useful. I have never known him to have a large fanbase.
  20. Xander wasn't created by Ron and I do think PT/Xander had a bit of a fanbase before Ron brought him back. I also think Sarah/Xander have a pretty substantial fanbase as well or at least did before Sarah became the worst. IMO, Xander is really more of a grey character that does bad things and does pay for them for a while at least. I don't doubt Ron favors PT as well, but I think there is more substance to Xander as a character in general in comparison to current day Ben and Alex. I know Ben wasn't created by Ron either, but since he reappeared the writing for Ben was heavily skewed in his favor. Ben wasn't a grey character. He was a fully reformed serial killer and romantic lead, and you were wrong to think he was a bad guy. His victim Will even became his bff. His victim's grandmother became his biggest cheerleader. It all was so heavy handed. Creating an entire other character for RSW is ridiculous as well. It isn't necessary and it feels like RSW is being pushed upon us. I have no idea if Ron actual has crushes on these men and don't really care, but it's clear there is some favoritism there. All that being said, RSW does have an extremely large, rabid fanbase as well not to mention CIN's following. I can understand wanting to keep RSW around. I just think if you can't keep VK's Ciara recast, 'kill' her off or find reasons for Ben to make long term visits to the canvas. Don't create another character and shove him in our faces. Perhaps others have different feelings on this, but I feel like most of Xander's stories flow a little more organically and I never feel like Xander is shoved in my face the way RSW is. I would also add that Leo and Gwen are much less popular and pushed way more than Xander ever has been, and I know that Leo/Gwen don't have large followings.
  21. Kate had the issue conceiving with Phillip (can't recall why...I would assume age), but an heir was one of the terms Victor had for marrying Kate hence the IVF. Can't recall the whole Kim story. I think it was just switched paternity tests not anything to do with Victor's sperm count lol.
  22. Checks out lol It's almost like some Days intern did the bare minimum of research and stopped reading a synopsis after seeing the line "Victor offered to marry Angelica" and just went with that detail.
  23. They had quite the shaky relationship, so I always wondered how they managed all those children so quickly after reuniting. The stress of it all!! I have to look at Jason's page too because you have to imagine there were some behind the scenes changes with writers and stuff. I can't imagine any single writer just giving a couple that many male children so rapidly. I don't think Ron would even go that far!😂
  24. I'll be honest, Justin/Adrienne always bored me a bit so I can never remember their entire history. I just remember they went from unable to have kids to raising 4 in a year or so lol. And Adrienne and Emilio which was not good at all.
