  1. I am a few days behind on the show because of life things, but I think EOB's wig is much worse than her American accent. She does fine with it IMO. The show can ditch the wig immediately though. I don't think the audience is confused about the fact another actress is playing Theresa. It's clear I am a big fan of Jen Lilley, so I can be biased, but there is something warm and likeable about her Thersea and that's just not the type of character EOB plays well. It's just an ill fit for EOB in general. We are obviously stuck with her, but it really is a baffling decision for the show. I really do think EOB is a good actress and does have charisma and a certain charm, but this character is just not for her.
  2. I mean, I wish Lily/Miguel were more exciting and that Juan just didn't follow the nature vs. nurture as far as charisma either, but I thought Miguel's actual performance was decent. I wouldn't have predicted Ricky Martin as a Global Superstar, but here we are. I objectively don't think Miguel/Lily are that bad they were just overshadowed by supercouple awesomeness. They clutter up the overall PR vibe, but Lily specifically starts moving the story.
  3. I clearly think Chad checked out years ago, but I do sort of think Michael turned out exactly how his upbringing suggested. If that makes sense? He is always going to hide behind Sonny/Carly because he was indulged his entire life. He was the golden child and he thinks he's tough, but was never taught anything else.
  4. Yeah. It's the total opposite of EOB, GR, RSW, etc that get every chance to show off and be utilized. You end up with a lot of actors/characters you see potential in, but are completely wasted and discarded. It's especially disappointing when it's a young, bisexual, POC that was a Dr, and I would say she's almost a legacy character. Just a waste, but it's Days and they do this all the time.
  5. I sort of found her devastation over Chanel realistic? It wasn't a great romance and the audience didn't love it, but it was important to her. She put herself out there as bisexual for the first time and was so excited that Chanel had feelings for her too and Talia was dumped before it even truly started. Idk, I actually found that really relatable. I honestly don't really care that much about Talia at the end of the day, but I was more interested in her than a lot of other characters pushed on us.
  6. Have they made it to Puerto Rico yet? Even with Ned/Lois being the B or C story there, I find a lot of their story very charming during that time. I loved the story, but Katherine/Ned never seem anything but very random as a couple. Neither here nor there but when watching the PR trip back it's hilarious how heavy-handed GH is about being on location. It's beautifully shot, but the show does not want you to forget they spent a ton of money on a location shoot. There are actual scenes of Maurice just walking in grass back and forth from the hotel that are like 2 min long. I think we are supposed to know Sonny is thinking about how dumb and nosy his girlfriend is, but it's a long time to watch one actor walk.
  7. I definitely agree she was absolutely miscast as a Dr, but I did like something about her in general. I feel like there were a few stories started with Talia that had potential and got pretty much immediately dropped like her Chanel pairing and her sleeping with Shawn.
  8. I am not going to lie-her eyebrow acting is unmatched. But the actress was very charismatic and charming, and I don't know why they wrote her out. There are so many possibilities for an LQBTQ POC hot mess that's an actual DR. But go wild, Days, Leo is better..................
  9. I don't think the show is being written worse all of a sudden or anything. I don't see a noticeable dip in quality. It's been bad for years. I think it's the fact that a lot of popular characters are leaving makes it seems worse than it is. Most of the characters being focused on are either in boring stories or just unpopular in general. Despite Talia having eyebrow acting that only Drake Hogestyn admires, I thought the actress was charismatic and had some potential. It's a shame they let her go so quick.
  10. It's a bit ridiculous NO ONE in town figures out Ned is Eddie, but whatever. Even Brenda easily stumbled upon the info and she's no detective so it's funny no one else sees the obvious info in front of them lol.
  11. Re: AJ and the money-Damian had evidence that Alan killed Ray Conway and was holding it over Alan's head. AJ decides to hire a professional to steal the evidence from Damian and takes the money from the hotel account to pay the guy. Alan and Monica find out and give the money to AJ to bail him out, but don't tell Ned/Edward why AJ took it in the first place. It was more evidence that AJ was a screw up for them, but AJ was actually trying to do something helpful.
  12. There is a lot of complexity to early Sonny/Carly. The show spent a lot of time building both Sonny/Brenda and Sonny/Carly and I think both were very different pairings and relationships that made sense as part of the evolution of the characters. While I agree with the fact he loved these women (including Nina), I don't agree with the fact that he idolized these women. I think there are aspects of these women that he found particularly attractive (ie Brenda's beauty and charisma, Carly's loyalty, Lily's acceptance, Alexis's intelligence, etc), but I don't think Sonny truly respected any of them as an equal partner and they all take 2nd to his business. With Nina/Sonny I do think they get along well and love each other, but there isn't anything on the page or on screen that merit this huge event wedding. Most of their relationship has been either Sonny following Nina around at the MC or talking about Willow/Michael/Carly. I know it's a big deal for Nina, but why is Sonny acting like he hasn't written at least a dozen similar vows at this point? If the whole event wasn't treated like this was a brand-new experience for both of them, I would be okay with it. Because I do agree the production looks lovely.
  13. I disagree with this take on Sonny. The problem with Sonny and his women is not the fact he put them on a pedestal or was in love with the idea of them. I have made many posts over the years about the issues with Sonny and women and I am not going to hijack the thread talking about 30 years of toxic relationships, but Alexis was not the only woman who expected Sonny to be a partner. The only woman Sonny idolized and put on a pedestal was his mother. I am sure you can argue at times it felt like Lily, Brenda or Carly were put on a pedestal by him, but his actual behavior doesn't indicate that. And his relationship with Nina doesn't even have half the depth of any of those relationships. Anyhow, that's just my opinion on it.
  14. What is Harris going to do at the Salem PD? Answer phones? lol. He can't solve cases or be an actual cop without going to an academy. Could you imagine the legality of him actually helping? I have actually always wondered what happened to all the criminals RoJohn arrested. Wouldn't they all have grounds to appeal their sentences since John wasn't actually a cop or Roman?
  15. You really expanded on what I was trying to say much better. I have no idea what makes Nina different to Sonny than any other woman he dated. They are very generic and I don't feel like I know anything about their actual relationship. They just seem like two people that get along well, not desperately in love. Even if the show delved into the comfort and stability of two people finding love that fits them better than the fiery, passionate affairs of their youth it would be more interesting. Painting Sonny/Nina as a love that they have never experienced before is just weird and the family co-signing this nonsense like they haven't watched their dad get married multiple times. I will never be a Nina or Nina/Sonny fan, but the show was on to something when they fell in love and Sonny thought he was Mike. Instead of exploring how being Mike really changed him this romance has fallen into usual Sonny patterns. I actually really can't wait for Sonny/Lois scenes, but I agree about there being so few people she knows still on canvas. Even people she spent less time with like Robin, Jax, Jason, etc are gone.
  16. Lol at Marlena checking in with Kate about Phillip, but not her own daughter and her wrecked marriage. They really must have stacked some scenes with LK/DH at the Pub. Even though it's silly it's also kind of fun to anticipate when Marlena and Kate will pop up in an episode because you know they'll get a scene. Everything else was okay. They really are trying to make Harris happen. And good to know Ava STILL makes pasta. Her only defining characteristic is cooking Italian food.
  17. I know this Nina/Sonny wedding is going to blow up, but does Nina really want to get married in Puerto Rico? Does she know Sonny's actually brought every woman he's ever dated there? Honestly does Nina really know anything about Sonny's past at all? This is not really Nina/Sonny specific and probably belongs in the people married many times thread because every love story culminates in marriage on soaps. I watched the montage and sure, it's cute, but I honestly feel they only know like the Cliff Notes version about one another's life. I don't know, I guess I just hate Sonny spewing the same old crap to woman that will be out of his orbit shortly. I just don't find a Sonny wedding to be this groundbreaking event.
  18. I think someone else said this, but I don't understand why Brady, John, Marlena, etc can't be involved in Belle/Shawn's story. Marlena appears for 2 min everyday! Instead of fangirling Harris/Ava it would have been nice for her to talk to Shawn or Belle instead. She found out about Talia/Shawn and nothing happened lol. I liked the Shawn/Belle/Phillp's scenes, but I don't understand why the show can't utilize the cast properly. Pretty much every relevant person in this story appeared today but didn't interact with one another the fullest. I understand there's always production issue, but why couldn't Belle spend a scene with Marlena/Brady before seeing Phillip and then go to Shawn? The oppurtunity was there to have everyone involved with this story today and it wasn't.
  19. Oh yeah. I felt it was pretty natural for them to start speaking like Lois, but not doing it in other aspects of their life. I don't watch GH til Hulu, but Lois made it seem like she was still physically living at her parents house to this day. Which cool, I guess. I just would have expected Lois to move on and remarry and have more kids years ago.
  20. At first Jason Cook's Shawn did call Marlena "Aunt Marlena" and that was dropped real quick lol
  21. @Liberty Cityis correct though. RS has taken it down a notch since the 90's with the accent. Olivia and Brooklyn also starting to dip into accents probably didn't help. Ha! I am from California and everything I know about Bensonhurst GH taught me. Are you telling me it's not all large, close knit Italian families, video arcades, a pizza parlors???😂
  22. I honestly think it's just jarring at first. I always tend to cringe at it when I hear it and then get over it. I'll have to watch some old clips to judge if it's less distinct. I think Rena does fine with it though. To be very clear it's a minor annoyance for me from an awesome character. 99% of my complaints are major annoyances from awful characters. Lois is still top tier amazing in my book.
  23. Theresa, Andrew, Paul, Brady, Phillip, and Belle screw me up. Andrew should be older than Theresa and both should be older than Paul, Brady, Belle. Paul, Brady, Belle should all be close in age since they were all born within 3 years of each other on the show. John was busy! Technically, from their actual birthdates? No. Alex and Theresa should be near the same age. But when you take into account Phillip, Belle, Brady being significantly older than what they should be it makes that generation the most muddy to me to figure out. I would assume Theresa would be late 30's because she was played younger than Brady and Alex would be older than Sonny so 35, 36 ish. When you add in Abby being born in the same year as Brady and Stephanie being born before both it gets even weirder, but I am more confident with those two because they were aged after Belle/Brady/Shawn et all.
  24. I kind of agree and I love Lois. I think you get used to it? It's just been so long and we weren't ready for it.
