  1. Can't disagree with facts. I still love the show and I've embraced it for what it is... but I also think that the more they trash these characters (mostly the villains) with over the top cartoon stuff, the harder it's going to be to get them back to a survivable place. Meaning - to keep them longer. That's why I said I want Hayley turned into a human being again after the culmination of the poisoning. Tone her down. Give her a new plan and a new agenda. More opportunist than a homicidal Cruella. I would prefer if the "evilness" and cunning could be more subtle... that way it will be way more sinister than the... - in your face... stuff. I mean... the way Hayley is constantly putting that poison in drinks... while talking to herself... as much as I love and adore her... there's just a limit and then it becomes stupid. Nothing to do with Marquita who is a sublime and should be kept in this show for as long as possible. It would have been way scarier if we saw Bill not feeling well... and just one shot of Hayley smiling in the background... and then we see a glimpse of the vial with the poison in her bag. Just the way it's written... matters. I'm choosing to stick to the positives... but I do see the cracks too.
  2. Ah! You are absolutely right... Dixie really grew on me over time. Initially, I saw her as homewrecker, and given my sympathy for Brooke, I couldn't help but dislike her... However, as the story unfolded, she transformed into a true heroine, someone I could root for... I appreciate that you remember my earlier dislike, as it shows how our perspectives can shift with time and new context. In a way, this is what makes soap operas so engaging... characters evolve, and so do our feelings about them. I'm excited to see how our perceptions align or differ in the future. 😊
  3. I knew you would be happy! And your reaction just brings a smile on my face. 🌻 And yes... I have a feeling our handsome Tad is not going to let Dixie drown in the fictional delusion Adam is spinning around her. And I can't wait to see this beast's comeuppance. So far he's been immune to any real consequences. P.S. I saw some of my older comments from the beginning of the year and God I was referring to Dixie as Miss Trash. LOL. How things change with time. Now I like her immensely.
  4. The villains in this soap are very caricaturish and unrealistic. At this point I've embraced it... But I wish they tone it down and make them more layered and subtle. It's very in your face Cruella Devil type of stuff on daily basis.
  5. Annika on Bold as Hope went in very nice. Her first year was some of her most exciting material. (by Bradley standards) Don't remember people disliking her at all.
  6. @Taoboi "I'm the one warning you biiiiiitch" 😂😂😂
  7. Chileeee this is WILD.
  8. That's great that you've found something to enjoy. I remember my first telenovela as a child - Rosalinda. I was obsessed. I was sooo little, practically a baby, but remember re-enacting scenes from the show, fake falling down the stairs like Rosalinda and fake-getting run by car like she was. I would recreate these hyper dramatic moments all day long. My father cringing every time he sees me. 😄
  9. That was a messy story. I'm still waiting for Krista to write her tell all book. 😄
  10. Thank you for reminding me! I think I know which ones you are referring to. It's just so hard to follow what is up and what gets taken down from YouTube. I think they've been cleaning a lot of channels due to this new streaming thing. BTW, I was just watching again and I guess Susan Lucci was on hiatus, because Erica is nowhere to be seen. They left us on a cliffhanger and now I watch every episode expecting to see what happened with her and the clown. Manipulative writing. 🤓
  11. Up to August 22th, 1989 🐩 "Goodbye, daddy." 🔷 Wow... here we go again. Last time I regularly watched "All My Children" was in late March. After that, I embarked on a big OLTL adventure (which I'm still on), and I promised myself that I would return to Pine Valley the moment I feel the need to switch things up a bit. As I near the end of 1992 OLTL, I decided... to attempt and watch both soaps at the same time. I will probably watch on rotating basis, some days - OLTL, other days - AMC. I just need change! I'm not sure if the show will not pull me in a huge binge again. Last time I was watching it... I went through nearly 2 years in just... couple of months. Some days I would skip sleep, because I couldn't stop. I think you guys remember. So, let's get started, shall we? 🔷 Let's get through the big stuff first. Dixie, Adam, and the first stage of the "Gaslight" storyline. I recall in earlier episodes, Adam hid the baby to traumatize Dixie. Now, he continues his evil plan by making her question her sanity. Initially, he suggested she see a psychiatrist, but once she considered it, he claimed she didn't need one. He's sending mixed signals to confuse her. The same goes for the babysitter situation. One moment he's urging her to hire someone, and the next, he's twisting her own words against her. It's almost painful to watch someone as inexperienced and naive as Dixie get manipulated like this. But of course, there's her guardian angel watching over her, and his name is Tad. It's always nice to have an angel like that, isn't it? 🔷 This leads me to Tad seeking help for Dixie... from Skye. 😆Oh my, he is such a typical guy. How could he possibly think that Skye, who is pathologically jealous of the baby and incredibly toxic IN GENERAL, would return to her father's mansion (from where she was thrown out like a dog), which I like to refer to as "The house of pain" and "HELP" Dixie? Skye was appalled by the idea, as expected. She unleashed a stream of hateful remarks about Dixie, calling her stupid and claiming she sets women back by decades. I almost forgot how catty this show can be. It has a completely different vibe compared to OLTL. Then, triggered as hell, Skye decided to pay him a visit... this time declaring her "departure" from town. But how many times has she done this now? Isn't this another one of her manipulations? Or has she finally seen what we all see - the monster that Adam is. Undoubtedly the clip of the day. "I don't think that you know how to love... only control." 🔷 And did you think that Adam cried or even thought about this for more than 10 seconds? About his precious firstborn leaving town? Of course not, he knows that she'll be back... and now... Adam's primary focus is... you guessed it - Brooke! Just an hour ago, he was speaking to Dixie as if she were the most DEAR person in the world, and now here he is... begging for his ex's attention. Attempting to exploit her kindness and compassion to worm his way back into her life and heart. Thinking that some type of fake charity will make her trust him again. But here's the twist... that girl he is trying to make crazy, that "stupid" girl - she overheard everything. Dixie was at the door and she heard what Adam was saying to Brooke. I love when karma does her job. 🔷 Now... you might have forgotten, but during our last talks about this show... months and months ago... Nico and Cecily were in a predicament - Phoebe and Cecily's annoying mother discovered that she and Nico are "not" actually husband and wife and threatened to pursue legal action. So now we saw Cecily turning to Jackson for legal assistance, trying to stop the fraud allegations. I almost forgot how annoying Cecily was... and how hot Nico was. One small detail that shocked me was this adorable blonde that Jackson kissed on the lips... as she was leaving his office. JESUS, Jackson. I remember you and Erica were having some disagreements before she left to "search for the clown"... but how DARE you kiss another woman while my girl Erica is away chasing after ghosts?! I was absolutely triggered. LOL. I can't wait for Erica to return! He deserves a slap just for that kiss! 🔷 Final thoughts - I know I've repeatedly promised our dear @alwaysAMC that I'm coming back to AMC, and... well... I FINALLY did. And... It's like I never stopped watching. I remember the show is currently still written by the recently departed Margaret DePriest (may she rest in peace)... and I have couple of months till I get my first taste of Agnes Nixon material. I'm still in a bit of an adjustment period, but the main storylines are vivid in my mind and these 2 new episodes were a breath of fresh air. Overall - 10/10 - I'M BACK. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Clip of the day Skye announces she is leaving town.
  12. Great to hear you are going strong forward. It only gets better.
  13. Ah! It's that voice. My girl has taste. 😍
  14. Thanks. I'll go back to see her first years some day.
  15. Great choice. I adore her as Iris.
  16. I'll watch it before starting work. I'm expecting magic judging by you guys's reactions.
  17. Sometimes I think that not only is Budig not appropriate choice for Taylor age and vibe (more like a Bridget or a Katie if you ask me) wise... part of me can't accept her, because Krista Allen left a big mark. That woman just clicked right in... and I didn't see it coming. And that was a ROLE that was nearly impossible to recast. Hunter Tylo was universally known as Taylor. But then she stepped in and it just worked. She could make gold out of straw (dialogue) and gave Taylor this feeling of authenticity, sarcasm and wit... that was lacking in the late Hunter Tylo days (Tylo was only given unhinged material by that time... which was embarrassing). So a part of me will always reject Budig, because I'm still not recovered after getting our second Taylor snatched out like that. It's not fair to her (Budig)... but I can't change how I feel.
  18. Yep, and quickly let go after that. Bradley Bell style. I was just thinking @DRW50 , since we were talking about Elaine Princi in the OLTL topic last week... Was she quickly accepted as Dorian back in the day?
  19. Great idea for a topic @DRW50 ! First thought in my head. Krista Allen is Taylor. Shame it had to end so quickly.
  20. Just the mention of the name Rita and I get PTSD symptoms. I start remembering scenes from the show, harsh close-ups, maniacal music... and an attic. I swear they should make people watch this on repeat as a way of police interrogation torture.
  21. Oh, you are absolutely correct. That entire season should be deleted and banned from streaming. It's hard to believe we have lost decades of amazing soap opera episodes, either taped over or burned... and yet we have Rita in her Full HD remastered glory.
  22. I've never heard or read more accurate description than this in my life. Wow.
  23. Season 1 is so underrated. I love it. Season 2 is wild, but in a good way. I think 90 percent of shows during that time tried in one way or another to copy the magic of Dynasty's second season. It's like the template. Then season 3 is entertaining, but signs of bad health are already there... From then onwards it becomes such trash that it's shocking it had so many seasons. I haven't seen the episodes in years, but I remember hating so much of the later seasons. I have to do a rewatch sometime in the future.
