That likely has more to do with the fact that Y&R suffers from poor lighting, poor hair and makeup and poor wardrobe.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
I was pretty neutral on Sawyer playing Kyle but I had this strange feeling that TPTB might have gotten rid of him because the rivalry they'd set up between Kyle and Noah wasn't working and because of the height difference between HS and RA. A very superficial reason. I've learned though that often with soaps, last hired can often be first fired (for e.g. the recent Y&R firings).

Well, here's a case of real-life voter fraud but something tells me that it's highly unlikely that Trump's sham panel uncovered this one.

I can never trust what goes on in this so-called government these days. I know he is a Democrat but it came across as if he reporting a figurative "impeachment", another 'blame Hillary" go round. I much prefer your explanation though. Although, can you blame me for jumping to thinking the worse when things like this are said without even batting an eye?

Whew, that backlash was immediate! Thanks for posting this. As soon as I put it up, the WH was singing a different tune. Don't forget that Sanders was the 2nd person to "float" the idea that the U.S. might not participate due to 'security concerns'. Nikki Haley was the first. Clearly, they were going to try it.

and you see what a thoughtful writing and direction can do? I'm still marveling at how much better some actors seem after they leave the show.

Actually some of the harshest critiques on Swift came from other White women. Awesomely Luvvie did write a blogpost claiming that she knew why Swift was on the cover while asking why she was really on the cover, but stated that she wasn't question the validity of Swift's presence in the issue but why on the cover. I saw quite a few tweets like this today. And that wasn't even the harshest one I saw. There was another one that came across my timeline (someone had retweeted it) that was very lengthy. My issue with the cover was that Time choose to put Terana Burke on the inside and not on the cover. She was the first person to say Me Too, almost two decades ago. I have to give props to Alyssa Milano because when the media wanted to brand her as the face of the MeToo movement, when she discovered that Burke had started this movement in the late 90s, Milano was very quick to try to educate people about Burke and has been doing so ever since. In any case, I am glad to see this type of acknowledgement before Time gets taken over by Meredith Corporation, we may never see this type of acknowledgement of any type of progressive issues on their cover ever again.

Believe it or not, this cover has generated some clapback. The founder of the MeToo movement was not on the cover (she's on the inside) and there were people complaining that Kesha should've been on the cover, rather than Taylor Swift. The Silence Breakers definitely deserved the POTY but the execution was not all it could've been.

That writer's room sounds a bit...er, much. Honestly, I wonder what Judith Light's thoughts are on all this. Perhaps a lot of the cast and crew were able to simply do their jobs and go home but it seems like boundaries were being crossed all over the place. A great deal of the off-camera dynamics sound like a complete mess.

Not to sound like an alarmist but at this point, I think people's safety will be jeopardized beyond the Middle East. This type of crisis cannot be confined to specific borders, especially in this day and age. Lest people doubt how steadfast this investigation has been.- For figure skating fans

And Lionsgate did more than just pull the movie, they sold it back to the production company, suggesting they wanted to be rid of the movie. I just finished reading. At first, I had no intention of reading yet another Weinstein article but figured that this would name names, which it did. It's bizarre how much Weinstein and Trump have in common, down to the connection to the man who owns the publisher of The National Enquirer.- Hollywood Sexual Harrasment/Assault Thread

The only reforms that MBS really cares about are the ones that will transform SA enough to attract investors, particularly Western ones. The ruling monarchy has known for some time that the oil money won't last forever, they can only rely on it for about a handful of years. They've invested in all that they can expect to invest in and get some return for their investment (they've even invested in solar and wind energy). They know it's critical to attract investors as the other part of the equation. Hence, the reforms. MBS is very much in a hurry to get this done and is elbowing his way through (not to mention that he clearly wants to be the guy that gets the credit for modernizing SA). His reforms have been very popular with the masses (particularly the youth) because he has stripped the cultural police and the strictest clerics of their power, while giving the general population newfound freedoms. What he is doing in other Middle Eastern countries is an entirely different matter. His hand in Yemen has heightened a crisis that is both deeply political and humanitarian. His maneuvering to try to isolate Qatar has all but completely blown up in his face. (yet another ideological battle with Iran by proxy). I just find it ironic that SA's ally the U.S. (via another ignorant, impatient princeling) has helped create so much chaos in the Middle East that they likely have unwittingly drawn the two rivals, S.A. and Iran closer together. Nah, they'll only stay together long enough to dismantle the U.S.' plans, then they'll return to their proxy wars as scheduled. - The Politics Thread
