One Life to Live Tribute Thread
OMG this just made my entire weekend. I gave up on ever seeing any new OLTL period especially of this era. I love all the natural touches-the dialogue feels so real, Eileen vacuuming, religious drama but not overdone, characters at work, Tim being a construction worker. Nice to see it in color-especially the bright 70s fashions. Ellen Holly looked stunning, amazing to see the progress over ten years. Carla is not only visiting Anna's house and welcome inside but taking Jenny to a meeting they are attending. So happy to see Anna and Carla's friendship. Also grateful to see Tim and Jenny for the first time. Wow is he handsome and I loved the little go they had at the end. I enjoyed GR as Tony here too. I saw him in the DTR episode but that mixed with the behind the scenes drama blurred him for me. The 1975 episode moved very fast but I would say wasn't plot driven. Just characters going about their day and their ongoing relationship drama.

Days: 1/25/2021 Weekly Preview
Reminds me of Natalie in the secret room on OLTL in 2008. If they are going to pull a Robin on GH I wish they wouldn't waste their time. Either bring her back or don't.

I am scared to even watch because I am sick of getting invested in anything good and then them ripping it away. They are so scared to rock the boat on this show. I miss Ana, Fen, Mia and Hilary. I am sure a few others but can't think of them off the top of my head.

All My Children Tribute Thread
I haven't watched classic soaps in a while and wow the community feel to that Michael Delaney storyline is sorely missed. Relationships, point of views, family drama, holidays feeling like holidays. This is unheard of now and I'm sure never to be seen again between the laziness and covid. You would think with the severe budget cuts we would have too much community drama and natural conversations and less BS. Instead we get Sonny and Carly playing soccer mom and dad.

GH January 2021 Discussion
Genie Francis is literally carrying this entire story on her back. Whoever plays Cyrus was DREADFUL playing those dock scenes with Jason and then learning Florence was kidnapped. Was absolutely fantastic seeing Denise Alexander back. I wish they had utilized her more over the years would have loved a three generations story between Lesley/Laura/Lulu that only soaps can do. It does seem she is able to walk better now or they covered it better. While the show is lacking energy as said above I find it infinitely more enjoyable with Sonny and Julian gone. At this point I would take Jason and Carly taking over the mob in exchange for no more Sonny or hell at least the end of Sonny and Carly. Put me out of my misery. I did enjoy the end of December unraveling of Molly/TJ and Curtis/Jordan. I wish Molly and TJ were better utilized. Despite being very vanilla I do have a soft spot for Chase and Willow 😬

ABC: ‘All My Children’: Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos Developing Primetime Version
Could this go on Freeform or whatever ABC Family turned into? Maybe they could split it between that and streaming?

It would have been interesting to see Cathy back in 2005 but at the rate they were going she would have been dead and buried in no time. Watching DAYS recently and thinking back to Marlena in comparison to Viki and how RC has overall kept Marlena at the forefront either through family or having old enemies return and thinking of what could have been with Viki. He did great with the romance with Charlie and there was obvious interference (seemed pretty glaring by 2009-2011) but I would have loved to see Viki getting a good balance of leading The Banner and battling old villains like she did in the late 80s. Obviously not kidnapped every week like Marlena and not Jamie Sanders coming back every 6 months to kidnap someone but I just wonder if there were and how many plans there were for Viki that never came to be.

This 100% I also hope to see long term planning for story. I can't think of many prime time series that are good past the first season. Even the daytime soaps can't give more than one good week or two every six months.

OMG that would be a dream come true. Casting wise I think it is easier to bring AMC back. OLTL needs more of a clean slate.

I have always found it interesting that Cathy was supposed to be the modern woman under Agnes but she ended up being a victim in love and near a breakdown multiple times. She seemed well enough for the time Agnes was there but then ended up off the charts. A little disappointing that they never found their footing with the casting of Cathy. Did anyone ever have any realistic addictions besides Rachel in the mid-90s and Cole in the late 2000s? Would have been nice to see Cathy as maybe a drug counselor. I would have loved to see Edwina, Cathy and Pat recur as popular talk show or radio hosts over the years popping in and out throughout the Llanview scandals. All in all I just don't think it is as difficult to honor the past as soaps make it seem when they have the unique history of being on 40 plus years. Not sure why the Cathy talk brought this to mind for me. Lol.

If this has the Hubbard's involved heavily with the Santos and Kane families I am in. Would be interesting to see SMG back as Kendall. I think it is really easy to settle for Erica/Maria/Kendall/Angie/Jesse and their offspring and I would be happy. The Jesse/Angie/David triangle made the 2013 show for me. I wonder if given Kelly and Mark's involvement this will reflect AMC circa the early to mid 90s mainly? Lots of details to come and the success of this program could make or break the future.

It was in a Clint and Viki Love Story Edit and definitely from 1985 due to the...grand fashion statements. I wish I could find more 1980 material for Carla but can only find Carla miserable in marriage to Jack then speaking with Jenny about Jack's death. Speaking of missed potential-was anyone watching when Herb and Ed's political campaign went south due to Herb's illegal activities? Maybe they could have had Ed's association get him into more trouble? Granted Herb was DA within a few years.

How devastating! I wasn't even alive at the time but have seen as much of the late 80s as possible and enjoy the camp but the biggest issue was the erasing of the diverse landscape and the lack of a family outside of the Buchanans that worked. Jamie and Elizabeth provided a lot of fun but were not worth losing the Halls for. They lost a lot of potential with not putting Blair Underwood on contract immediately and I thought Lisa was an absolute spitfire. So many possibilities with Bobby/Lisa/Josh lost. And Blair Underwood and Andrea Evans had a lot of chemistry too. Did anyone feel like losing Brad Vernon and Marco Dane was a loss? They were C characters by the time they left but they seemed to be essential pot stirrers in the late 70s and early 80s who were faded out. Would anyone consider Delilah watered down by the time she married Rafe? I haven't seen much of her pre-86 but she seemed like she changed a lot.

DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos
I was loving the show during the Nick/Gabi/Sonny/Will drama I was disappointed when the Will recast happened (although at this point I would love a recast) and it was as far as I remember the last character driven storyline that got to me. Those scenes of Nick breaking down about his time in prison were phenomenal. I loved the twist of Kate/Sami/Gabi dumping Will into the river but 2014 and his lame return and death was just so lazy. Honestly I feel like 2013 outside of Daniel was the last fully entertaining year. After tyat I only enjoyed fall 2015 and then bits and pieces of weeks or months since.

If anyone wants to go into greater detail on what the next generation could have been, I would love to read. I know we had Lily, Billy, Mac, Nate, Scotty, Colleen, Daniel and then Raul, JT and Brittany added on. Were there any others or missed opportunities? I know I have said it before but I will never forgive the waste of Ricky Williams and Ana Hamilton. Amazing casting and two of the most stand outs in the past decade. Kyle is soon to be added to that list as I have lost interest in him. I guess the most recent Fen counts too. They had me more interested in the younger characters in 2019 than the vets.

Wow! I never thought of a Colleen and Scotty pairing with the natural Traci and Lauren aftershocks. Ahhh. What could have been. Weren't Colleen and Scotty close in age too? Would have been awesome to see a JT/Colleen/Scotty triangle and a great way to have kept the momentum of the 2000s era teens going considering MAB killed the YOUNG in Young and Restless.

I am catching up on the classic episodes aired this year and currently in 2006. We're JT and AL's Colleen well received? I am liking the vibe between them but I know he is soon with Victoria (I am so not feeling AH) and she gets caught up with Korbel. I do like JT and Colleen much better than what I saw between he and Brittany and both Macs so seems like wasted potential to me. Also-does anyone think Brittany could have taken Amber Moore's place in Daniel and Lily's later drama? I love Amber but seeing Brittany I wonder if more could have been done with her.

"Secret Storm" memories.
Wow I had never heard of this story. Sounds interesting. Was Jada playing Amy in this time? I imagine if they were just going to college that this was Amy's first 'adult' story?
