Thank you for that, Jam. That's more coherent but still a strange story. I wonder what really went down with her and her foster family. I know it's hard to judge by one photograph but she looks traumatized in the photo they used for the article. It's kind of sad. She was such a cute kid and it seemed like she was everywhere in the 70s. Maybe she just happened to appear on the shows and movies I watched and loved. I remember her in things like Days of Our Lives, Sybil and Kingdom of the Spiders. Which says a lot about the kind of kid I was. :)

No, I agree.  She was one of my favorites.  I remember her in Mary Jane Harper Cried Last Night too.

Hard to conceive of today -- the oldest actor on a soap appearing (a lot!) more often than their co-stars. Imagine Bill Hayes having double the guarantee of Kristian Alfonso in 2020.

Many in the current cast are older than Macdonald Carey was in 1970 (57), including some of the episode leaders.  Kristian will be 57 herself in a few months.

Yes.  Ej did.  The basic gist of the story with me probably getting some details wrong: when Jarlena first returned in 2011 EJ set it up to make it seem Basic Black was laundering money from investors or some sort of embezzlement thing.  John went to jail and then was exonerated and used his own money to pay the investors back.  Jarlena had scenes about making a budget and everything.  They never mentioned getting the money back, but I assume they did.  Whether it be from EJ or a come up from one of John's other identities or Basic Black being successful since then.

Thanks, that’s ringing a bell.  I think Bo and Hope were affected too.  Something about their police pensions.

Yes, looking at some of the themes I wonder what the observations/advice would have been, in light of prevailing attitudes of the time.

Not wanting to stretch the friendship, but there is little around on similar shows For Better or Worse and The House on High Street. Would you be able to work your magic with those two?

    I’ll take a look.
