I think one of the problems of the David story is the fact that he really did not get a whole lot of payback before he actually died in the trash compactor. Sure it was a clever way of killing him off but like deedee said it did seem a bit rush just by watching those clips. I would have prefer that insted of just watching him die first a fistfight between Danny and David would have worked as like a final confrontation, Considering the hell this guy had put them through all those months, also this may be a bit far fetched but just because he was such a jerk to her during her trial, there could have been a scene where Glenn Richards found out that David was just a fraud and apologized to Nina. (Unless he just did that offscreen) I tend to get a bit angry when minor characters like him are such jerks to innocent victims like Nina who are only sufferering because other people have put them through this. Deedee what did you think of the story where Jack finds out that it was Victor who caused Nikki to lose their baby boy, and he goes to confront him in his office, but like always Victor throws all the punches. That pisses me off because i think that was the one time Bill Bell should have ignored Braeden's stupid rule about Victor being somewhat invinceble to other people (although they let John Abbott give him a knuckle sandwich years later) and let Jack attack Victor.

Also What did everyone think of Nikki (almost) Marrying Jim? Did Katherine have any say on that pairing, or did they not have Katherine involved in much of Nikki's life during that time? I know by the time she was gonna marry him, Jack pursued Nikki and she married him instead, even though Jack only did that to get back at Victor (although he fell in love with her later). Did Brenda as Jill ever get to have scenes with Quinn (Rex) I ask this because i have seen those clips where David comes in telling Jill they have found a man for Katherine, and then they repeat that scene the next day with Jess as Jill, but I think Jess was only temping that day. So yeah, any Quinn/Brenda scenes?

I asked this already, but never really got an answer, but after Nikki and Victor divorced and she had Nicholas which spammed from late 1987-1988, What did Nikki actually do for most of 1989? I know she was involved with Jim Grainger,but most of that year seemed like it took a break from Nikki's stories and was mainly about Phillip dying, and That long dragged out Cassandra Rawlins story i keep hearing about?

I so agree aML. Y&R will always have THE BEST background music ever used on a soap. No other ones will ever be up to par with Y&R music wise. I think B&B is maybe close in second, but Y&R's music alone can just be a show! Ha, whenever they use their old cues i always struggle to pay attention to the scenes going on, because i can't help but just be in awe over hearing a classic cue being played. I got like that today actually when they did the scenes with Daniel and Phyllis, and they had that old keyboard (I think) cue playing. I too have noticed them using the old cues a lot more. At first i thought it was because the episodes with Sally McDonald as producer have started, but Paul Rauch is still listed as Producer. Now unless the producers have no control over that kind of stuff, I would love it if Sally made it possible for them to start using the old background music again for every scene. I think it would be a nice little throwback to the older fans. Plus i can't stand most of the current Y&R cues. I'm sorry but i think GH has the worst background music right now.... Then again i guess it ties along to their mob crap.

I was wondering, since today's episode of Y&R ended with one of their old (but wonderful) background music cues from the 80's/90's I was wondering do any soaps sometimes still pull out old music cues during scenes like Y&R and B&B does?

Haha i was wondering if that was still up!, I think she seemed like a good replacement for Brooke, she acts like a sweeter version than KKL IMHO. How as she sparring with Stephanie? Do any scenes exist with Catherine Hickland subbing as Brooke back in 1987. That one boggles me because it just seems odd to have someone fill in for another character that early in the shows run?

This promo features one of the rarest scenes i would never have thought i would see from Y&R, which is Jill literally trying to strangle Nina with her bare hands as she throws her on the couch! Did not know that those two got into any wrestling matches on the show, i mean i know they hated each other but i never thought they would get into fights like this. the fun is at 0:06.

This is indeed an interesting batch of people to be going to a dinner party LOL! Looks like tons of fun with Leanna and Douglas involved. Does anybody remember any significant important plot point that took event at this dinner ( As Leanna's "I've got to do something uterly outrageous!" remark) or was it just to show the annoyance of Nikki and Jim running into Victor and Cassandra along with Leanna and Douglas.

Yes, and i also think there was once a December 1993 episode posted that had to do with Eve dying, or leading up to it. I miss 2007-2008 youtube where you could find a TON of classic episodes and clips of Y&R. The removal of Jill and Katherine's almost catfight at Nina and Phillips wedding in 1989, and their courtroom fight of 1995 has led to hardly anymore classic clips being posted ....

That scene was actually on youtube a while ago but of course was taken down . It really was a sad scene though and its interesting thst Eve Howard who was once a very psychotic character died as peacefully as she did.

So other than hooking up with Jim, what else was Nikki's story in 1989. That seems like such a quiet year for her. Granted i have seen the clips on youtube where she is with Casey and Little Victoria and Nick who was just newborn, and also the described clips of her making out with Jim, and i know she wanted to marry him, but yeah was there anything else in importance that happen with Nikki. ALso how did Scott and Cricket feel about their father marrying Nikki, and was there any "interfering" from Katherine then like recently with her and Paul?

Haha yeah in the one episode i described it is very confusing, You start out with Lauren and Sheila in her suite and it is bright and sunny out the window and then you cut to the newman ranch with Victoria coming down the stairs and it is pitched black out, then we go to the Chancellor estate and its once again bright and sunny haha.... soo weird. I guess Bill thought that `perhaps it would not make sense for all these scenes to be happening at the same time frame, so we got to push some time frames forward a little bit or something like that... again not such a big deal, but I thought Bill was more careful when it came to stuff like that.

Deedee, I have a question?.... when Bill Bell wrote Y&R, did he have a tendency to get a little sloppy when it came to determining what time of day it is suppose to be throughout the show? ( i guess the word would be continuty) I ask this because i just got some classic Y&R episodes from ioffer from 1991, and 1993 and for example in this one 1993 episode there were some scenes when you looked out the window it was dark out, and then some where it was still light out?.... also i got a whole weeks worth of October 1991 episodes and Ashley was on the entire week, and the last day of the week she is wearing a different outfit but it is still suppose to be the same day....I know these seem minor but i always thought Bill was the type of writer to not throw viewers off by having stuff like that make sense, and in this case some did not.... Not that the episodes were bad they were great!

I really hope you or someone else finds old articles/pics of Kimberlin and Scott. soap mags are usually famous for having unlikely duos pose together so anything is possible.

Hey Carl, do you by any chance have the November 19, 1991 issue of Soap Opera weekly? because if you do, can you post the article about a Walk, Run and Roll fundraiser in Santa Monica California? The people from Y&R that attended that event were Kimberlin, Kristoff and Scott (Reeves), and i really want to see the pictures in that article to see if their is an actual picture of those 3 posing together, cause thats and interesting threesome.

That's very true actually, Scott was always such a nice guy and though it would have been hot to see, he looked like he would have been too good for Jill. It all boils down to what we discussed earlier by Scott not interacting with that many people (which he probably did, its just hard to determine when their is no clips to prove it.) and someone new like Ryan comes in, and within a few years starts having scenes with and starts a flirtation with someone like Jill (which again is only because he worked at Newman or Jabot). Do you think Ryan/Lauren would have worked. I don't know why but i could see them hooking up romantically. Scott (Reeves) and Tracey look like they would have smokin hot chemistry too. I would have preferred Bill did a story of pairing them together in the mid/late 90's insted of sending Lauren to B&B for the next 4 years. Plus it would have maybe pitted her against Nina and Victoria, which would be cool to me since having Tracey have scenes with Tricia and Heather (at the time) seems rare.

Hey Deedee this is gonna sound like a random question, but do you think Scott and Jill would have been a good pairing? I know they probably rarely had any scenes together, except in like group parties, but i could see potential chemistry between Barton and Jess. At the same time i picture Scott being one of the few men who would not tolerate her bitchiness, and set her straight. That's why it kind of bothered me that they started a flirtation with Ryan and Jill, because Ryan just seemed like he went along with some of Jill's behavior.

There was (and still is) tension between Braeden & Bergman from Day 1. Gosh can you imagine just how awkward it is to have scenes with the same person for twenty plus years, and knowing there was once a time you two both tried to kill each other.... and not on the show.... I generally wonder what a typical Y&R co-star of Eric's can talk to him about before the cameras start shooting?..... Braeden was...amused (but for the most part couldn't be bothered). Sounds just like Eric and i take that Jerry did not get on with Brenda huh? On a side note Jerry has stated his favorite Jill Was Deborah Adair... How did Eric and Terry get along Deedee?.... hopefully better than him and Peter ever did.
