Yes, DAYS is so far ahead that the scab material won't show up on screen until either very late December or early next year. I do believe RC had said he had written through around Christmas.
That's....very disappointing

Today was another episode of family/friends bonding and character development, and I like that. Episodes like this really help fans understand the actions of these characters. Not just on Days, but soaps in general.
I didn’t expect Abe to move out of the apartment but I can see why he did it. Sometimes, Paulina really should be more subtle lol this could be a good storyline if it’s taken seriously and not taken over by stupid crap. Since the Whitley crap ended, it’s been going fine.
I did like the Sloan/Melinda scenes too. I hope this friendship continues to grow and that she doesn’t try to blackmail Sloan when she finds out her secret. It would be something different for her and she really needs that
And I did enjoy Tripp/Wendy too. Let them be happy for a little bit before the conflict sets in lol too bad their romantic night is going to be ruined.
Interesting, is it still RC's material airing or scab writers? lol Legit question not trying to make fun or Ron this time.

The environment on the DAYS set sounds horrible. Ken will definitely have to take the reigns, who knows, bring back Greg Meng or even Gary Tomlin.

I assume you mean 1984? These two weeks are from two different books, so they wouldn't normally be on the same chart that I post, but I'll do it this time.
As a reminder, the weekly charts will be coming over the course of the next few months, so (to everyone) please try to limit ratings questions to non-soaps, mainly if you have questions about other daytime shows or Saturday morning shows from 1980-1987.
Impressive numbers for Guiding Light

Yes, you will see the opening with the green lettering. It debuted in August 1980 when the show moved to 12:30 p.m. I watched one of the August 1980 episodes the other day and saw that opening. What you won't hear is the final theme song, which debuted, I think, in 1981. What is interesting is that some of the August 1980 episodes feature the old Doctors logo at the beginning of the opening scene.
Thank you so much!!

I had hoped to be able to make sense of some of the revolving door or writers/producers after 1980, in addition, seeing the the opening with The Doctors (the closing theme is beautiful) in green lettering; doesn't appear we will get to that point unfortunately.

Eh they should've went with Chance and Summer instead.

Loveddd her as Tawny on B&B. Some of my fondest memories as a preteen were Tawny and Amber's schemes.

The Dimitri story does feel like a repeat of the Craig story. Smh.

Oh my goodness. Andrea had just a presence on screen that you thought she'd live forever. Simply timeless. I'm shocked. This just like Lisa Brown's passing comes as a shock.

True Simon sucked as a character. I will say I would've accepted him as a totally different character, probably a character connected to GL's rich history. But yes, Simon, and Jesse were duds.

Wooohoo thank you Jason!

How could I forget the marvelous Darlene? It was both the part of the writers, and Darlene for infusing so much humor and actually making it work on B&B back in the day.

Interesting to see DOCTORS get a temporary bounce there.

Impressive seeing Guiding Light so far up amongst the ABC soaps.

That resulted in the LOL scene of Brock sneaking a bucket of fried chicken into the house.
I recall this scene and it was laugh out loud funny, not something I was used to seeing on soaps at the time, as I was always P&G soap fan.

That brief period where Jennifer, Adrianne, and I think a few other ladies consumed pot brownies on DAYS. Tomlin/Whitesell.
Sunset Beach also had some good humor too.

Days like these (4th of July) I really miss GL. Not many soaps make a big deal about the 4th these days, but back when GL was on air you could always expect some big drama to occur at this years Bauer BBQ. Sigh

The whole show is super boring right now and stagnantly staged with a bunch of self-righteous asholes confronting each other over boring topics.
What a perfect description. I haven't watched since Victor died, and Trina and Spencer reunited.

Simply put the show has gotten it wrong with so many storylines and couplings. I agree about Jai and Laurel; it's void of any chemistry. So are Wendy and the doctor. The show needs a team with a long term vision, and ones that are capable telling which actors have chemistry, and which ones don't have it on screen.
