Michaela Rooney's brief return in front of the camera as Dr Emily Devine has now come to an end with the character being killed off as part of the ongoing 'creep' storyline

Shortland Street's 7000th episode screened on July 3rd. The episode itself was low key but there has been some media coverage. https://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/tv-radio/tv-guide/121984423/shortland-street-cast-celebrates-7000-episodes - the photos in this one are cropped in an odd way lol https://twitter.com/ShortlandTweet/status/1278909727884238848?s=20

I think Jay ran (but not sure if he owned) Crimson Lights from 1994 - 99, before Nick and Sharon bought it.

And in a surprise move, Michaela Rooney has reprised the role of Dr. Emily Devine after 23 years. Emily originally appeared from 1995 - 1997. Like many former actors from the show, Michaela Rooney has moved to working behind the scenes on Shortland Street (as a scriptwriter). It will be interesting to see where this goes. I found it interesting that the intruder was planned to be Emily all along, but that Jennifer Ludlam's leave of absence delayed the storyline for a while. https://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/tv-radio/tv-guide/121914377/shortland-streets-emily-devine-returns-after-25year-absence hthttps://twitter.com/ShortlandTweet/status/1275692195690012680?s=20tps://twitter.com/ShortlandTweet/status/1275692195690012680?s=20https://twitter.com/ShortlandTweet/status/1275692195690012680?s=20

If you use ctrl + F to search for 'Conn' at the curlyqgirl recaps (Connor and Conner are spelt interchangeably, hence you have to shorten his name to get all the mentions, but unfortunately it will also pick up 'connected' and 'Connecticutt' as well) you'll get an idea of his storylines. http://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/eps/gheps1991.htm http://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/eps/gheps19912.htm http://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/eps/gheps1992.htm http://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/eps/gheps19922.htm Basically the TLDR version is that Connor first appeared June 24, 1991. Mac and Dominique encountered him first and Mac hired him to sing at his new jazz club, The Outback and the now infamous wedding rehearsal scene takes place on June 27, 1991. Connor also became friends with Dominique and Robin. Connor performed again the following month at the opening of The Outback. By September 1991, Felicia had become suspicious of Connor. Connor revealed that he was looking for his father and that Mariah might have some answers since as @AdelaideCate007 mentions, they were connected. Mac, Connor, Felicia and Maxie went to Texas where a friend of Mariah's told them about Connor's father, El Patron. By December 1991, Connor was in trouble with immigration and needed to prove that his father was American. Sean tried to help Connor and was shocked when Connor told Sean that his father was El Patron. Sean revealed to Robert that he was El Patron. This is where the video - "He's my son" - that @victoria foxton posted comes in. Sean saved Connor from deportation by revealing that he was Connor's father. They took blood tests at the beginning of 1992 and the results came back in February. Connor was hesitant to accept Sean as his father (and they still had an uneasy relationship as late as July). Then there was a brief storyline about Connor being hired by Lucy to write a theme song for Deception. By September, Connor had feelings for Dominique but she got ended up getting married to Scott. There is no further mention of Connor in these recaps after October 22, 1992.

It's weird reading about a pre-Monty spy storyline on GH. It does feel very Dobson-ish though. Also good to see what Steve Hardy was getting up to. Those yearly summaries they used to have on Abc.com always seemed to suggest that all Steve did in the early - mid 70s was pining after Audrey.

Not sure why they divorced the first time as I wasn't watching (something to do with Traci having a miscarriage and Lisa locking Brad up in a cage?) **Edit** I didn't see the post by will81** The second time round Brad pretty much lost interest in Traci and had only re-married her because she was pregnant with Colleen. So when Colleen was a few months old, Traci left Brad for her publisher Steve (from memory it wasn't even a big affair storyline or anything, Traci had realized her marriage was over and decided to pursue things with Steve who had been showing interest in her). Taci and Steve left with Colleen to live in New York City. A year or so after that, Traci had married Steve. Brad - concerned that Colleen (now SORASed to 5 years old) didn't know him and viewed Steve as her father - pursued joint custody and/or visitation rights. That lead to a brief quadrangle as Traci still had lingering feelings for Brad but Brad was involved with Lauren. At one point, Brad had a heart attack while being intimate with Lauren; Traci and Lauren feuded over Brad at the hospital. I don't know how that exactly all got resolved because I stopped watching for a while and when I resumed; Brad was with Nikki, Lauren had moved to L.A (for B&B) and Traci and Steve were back in New York.- GH: Classic Thread

I've read somewhere that Scotty was 23, but I think that may have been in 1979 when he married Laura, who was 17 at the time, so nearly a six year age gap. They actually started dating when Laura was only 15, which I've always thought was a bit problematic (but may have been more common in the 70s? I don't know).- Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Just caught part of an episode of the 1980s UK sitcom Duty Free (produced by Yorkshire Television) and Frazer Hines was on it playing a womanizing caricature of himself, trying to seduce both of the married female leads. One of the husbands on the show also kept calling him 'Joe' despite Frazer Hines explaining that Joe was the character he played on Emmerdale Farm. The episode was from September 1984 during the time that Frazer was off the show for a few years, and one of the female characters does say that he has left Emmerdale Farm.- Look into the past - 1975

I think Flo was still around in October 1997 when Nina had a breakdown, went missing and then threatened Tricia and Ryan with a gun, only to end up being shot herself. By that point Flo's sole purpose seemed to be to look after Little Phillip (Chance) while Nina and Ryan were having their dramas. **Edit I left this page open for several hours before posting and since then other people have pretty said the same thing lol**- Y&R: Old Articles
Yes, a retcon is also possible, or somebody on the writing staff misremembering their sorority connection as them being at college together. ** I posted the top half before seeing the post by YRBB and the replies have merged** Aha! thanks. I think earlier my brain may have attempted to rationalize the discrepancy coz now that you have both said that they were retconned in the late 90s to have been in college together I am now back to remembering it that way again too lol- Y&R: Old Articles
Thanks! I was under the mistaken impression that Ashley and Olivia went to college together but come to think of it in later years they actually only ever referred to themselves as being sorority sisters. So they belonged to the same sorority but at different colleges and never met until Olivia's first episode.- Y&R: Old Articles

Thanks for that. I'm not sure if I watched this particular episode back in the day, but I do remember seeing Nathan confront Dru and Jack rescuing pre-soras Victoria from the pool so I am pretty sure I've seen the episode after this. I think this was Victoria's last major incident as a child before being shipped off to that magical Swiss boarding school and coming back as Heather Tom about six or seven months later lol.- Look into the past - 1975
Young and the Restless That's an interesting back story that also prevents Lorie and Mark from consummating their relationship (as they were due to be revealed as half-siblings). General Hospital I like how several ongoing plot threads came together in this alleged malpractice storyline on GH. Big mistake Peter! If you'd allowed your wife to adopt your own biological son then it's possible you would never have ended up getting dragged into Heather's schemes with PJ/Steven-Lars. And here comes Lee's soon to be second wife!- GH: Classic Thread
It was almost 18 months if you include the periods where Genie only made fleeting returns. Laura basically was away for over a month after her death was faked in the lead up to the Twist of Fate primetime special in December 1996, came back for February '97 sweeps and then left again (Laura moved to Switzerland with Lesley after Stefan threatened her), made a few appearances in May '97 sweeps and then didn't appear again until May '98.- Shortland Street

Lulu was actually Maxie's rival for a period of time but of course by 2009 they were bffs. Their feuds since then haven't lasted very long; despite Maxie lying about the surrogacy, or the period where Maxie blamed Lulu for Nathan's death. I'd also argue that Spinelli has been the constant romantic pairing in Maxie's life. Sure, they have been platonic for years what with Bradford Anderson only guesting for brief stints since about 2003; but the show has always kept their link alive via their co-parenting of their daughter. True, although it's been so long now that some of the mob crew are as tenured as their Days counterparts.- GH: Classic Thread
Manny's identical (even the tattoos! lol) good twin, Father Mateo was one of the hostages during the Metro Court hostage crisis; but other than that, Mateo's story went nowhere. Manny also shot and killed Justus, and Carly's biological father John Durant (played by Corbin Bernsen). He didn't actually shoot Lucky but held Liz hostage at knifepoint and Lucky injured his back when he went to rescue Liz. Manny's shooting of Sam prompted Jason to tell Alexis that Sam was her daughter. Alexis immediately took over and tried to cut Jason out of Sam's life. Manny (all roads led back to Manny) decided to cause a mob war between Lorenzo and Sonny by getting some clowns (that is, his goons dressed as clowns) to target Lorenzo's son Diego (who later became the text message killer but that's another story) at a carnival. However, it was Jesse who ended up getting shot during the ensuing shoot-out and he died. Jesse had only been introduced the previous summer (2005) when they tried doing a summer on-the-run storyline with him and Maxie. After Jesse died, Maxie initially went after Nikolas. But after Nikolas made it clear he wasn't interested, Maxie turned to Lucky and began supplying him with pills for his back injury. Thus began the "summer of sleaze" when Lucky slept with Maxie, Sam slept with Ric and Jason slept with Liz. Contagion was first, that played out over February 2006. Laura woke up in October.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
