  1. Bill Clinton is a frail man. If he wasn't at the time of those e-mails, he is now. I imagine many still see him as the chuckling fat pervert of '90s sketch comedy. He's clearly not anymore. If he is whoring it up, I doubt he's doing it very often, and I imagine we would have heard more about it by now if there was more proof. I saw some trying to make hay out of some guy claiming he's Clinton's son - to me that type of stuff is usually about as believable as those claims from some random years ago that he was Obama's gay lover. For years I still heard people insisting Obama was gay because of that. Silly stuff. Speaking of Bill, I read some article today blasting Hillary for picking Kaine because she already had an ideal surrogate and campaigner in her husband, so she needed to choose a dynamic voice for Bernie supporters and to build the party up. It just reminded me again about the past glories of Bill compared to what he actually is. He wants his wife to win and he's still effective with a number of voters, but he can't be what he was, and her campaign seems to realize that.
  2. She seems to be a lot of fun in the few bits I've seen of her. It's too bad they didn't cast her in another role instead of as Skye as she clearly wasn't what they had planned for the character. I can't imagine how bewildered viewers must have been to go from this to Robin Christopher.
  3. Philip Brown in the bit at the start.
  4. An episode from the mostly destroyed first season of The Avengers has been found. I wish Patrick Macnee were still with us to comment. http://ianhendry.com/the-avengers-1961-lost-episode-tunnel-of-fear-from-the-very-first-series-rediscovered-after-55-years/
  5. it's not hard to lie when you're a sociopath, and Pence is a sociopath. I haven't seen that many say Kaine won. I've seen more trying to hype Pence as their latest daddy figure.
  6. He probably was just riffing off the top of his head the way he likes to do. People sometimes say he secretly doesn't want her to be president, but I find that a little hard to believe. I do believe he is going to be pissed when Obama is out of office and takes his job as Elder Statesman of the party. Jimmy Carter doesn't count really, and now Bill is going to no longer be the headliner at their conventions. I wouldn't be surprised if Obama leaves that to Bill. He never seemed to like that aspect of the party and at times has actively avoided it.
  7. Rosie is returning. Sounds like a visit. http://www.itv.com/coronationstreet/news/helen-flanagan-rosie-webster-return
  8. So apparently Chris Matthews is already pulling his pud over Pence. What a shocker. I didn't bother with the debate but it sounds like about what you'd expect - Pence as a sociopath, a terrible, biased moderator (as always), Kaine struggling and being overheated (he's not good at this type of stuff, never really was), the media and the voter who falls for the glib siding with the sociopath. I saw some tweets from Frank Luntz going on about how awesome his focus group thought Pence was. Another shocker. The other thing I read a lot was that Pence just lied and lied about anything Trump said. I guess whether people fall for that depends on whether or not they are actually invested in the debate. People will always fall for a bigoted Republican robot if he's smooth enough, but the election is probably too polarized for any debate to really make a difference. The main question is how much the usual media gushing will make an impact.
  9. Their "magazine" pieces are good (sometimes very good). Their day-to-day reporting is hacky.
  10. He's probably still bitter that he isn't at center stage, and I do think he genuinely loves his wife (in spite of everything) and he probably thinks if they listened to him, she'd be winning in a landslide. You can see the slavering over how this helps Trump in this article: http://www.politico.com/story/2016/10/bill-clinton-rogue-obamacare-229119 The media has been waiting for the chance to help Trump get a comeback, and as relatively mild as his comments were, this is the start of the kick in that direction. I imagine some out there will be waiting to gush over Pence tonight too (a media favorite before he tanked himself in 2015), to further cement their Trump fantasies.
  11. The article led me to another article, which basically says (shocking) the "drone" comment was based on nothing more than one website, a website also used to push the silly theory that Hillary had an earpiece in the debate. http://nymag.com/selectall/2016/10/no-clinton-didnt-say-she-wanted-to-drone-strike-assange.html I finally remembered who he reminds me of - the old Jack Van Impe stuff that used to run on TV late Saturday night/early Sunday morning. Garbled, muddled apocalypse-speak by two people feverishly crazy-eyed with their own importance and moral superiority.
  12. Thanks. Cute story.
  13. I hadn't read up on the Turkey thing until it was mentioned here a few times. I didn't realize that this hyped release was nothing more than random forum posts, and amounted to absolutely nothing beyond putting women in danger. http://nymag.com/selectall/2016/07/why-did-wikileaks-help-dox-most-of-turkeys-adult-female-population.html
  14. Moving it to being a teleconference should have tipped people off. I wonder if the "they'll have to release bad stuff about Trump too" bit was to try to make people not want to know. Still, they have a month to gin up some type of trash.
  15. How many times has Mercedes had this story with a man? I just don't understand why viewers are supposed to care. They are terrified of letting her mature.
  16. He's crass and crude and condescending, but I don't think the comments are different to what a lot of people (including vets, sadly) already feel. I was more annoyed by the "social engineering" pandering, although I know that is a common opinion among vets as well.
  17. Mike Dietz (Alan-Michael on GL from 96-97, Joe Scanlon on PC from 97-99) is quoted in this article about Trump and sexism on The Apprentice. I didn't realize he was a producer now...or that he's married to Paige Rowland (That Kit Fisher Person). http://www.politico.com/story/2016/10/how-trumps-apprentice-moved-from-capitalism-to-sexism-229042

  19. The NYT has never liked the Clintons - they were the ones who started Whitewater and all the rest. They also very merrily took us to war in Iraq. It's not a paper of note or value and hasn't been in many years.
  20. I just read more of the Rudy stuff and it's bewildering even for that despot. - Hillary cheated on Bill - it's alright if Bill cheated on Hillary, because everyone cheats - there's nothing wrong with Bill cheating, the problem is the wife's role in it I hope all the people who nod along with this realize just how far this type of frothing hatred of women will reach.
  21. I'm not kidding myself in regards to anything. I'm pretty sure he didn't pay any taxes and it honestly isn't any of my business. I think this whole brouhaha is a media controversy at its core. I don't care if it's democrats or republicans I rarely see the need to see someone else's taxes. The whole public has a right to now thing Is just bs that the media has concocted and hidden behind for ages. And it would be so nice to have a reasonable conservative voice around here. Even if it's just to debate tax policy and economics. It becomes our business mostly when someone runs based on economic stewardship. We now find out that his idea of economic stewardship is apparently declaring a billion dollar loss. I thought conservatives hated that type of thing?
  22. Apparently the leak was also supposed to make Trump look bad. I wonder if that's the real reason. I wondered how long it would take before certain people tried to spin Trump avoiding taxes for 20 years as brilliant, and it didn't take long (and no I don't think anyone will be fooled - I think he's mostly lucky that the people who are hardcore voting for him will vote for him even if he comes into their house and pisses all over the place). http://www.politico.com/story/2016/10/donald-trump-taxes-surrogates-229018 And for those out there who insist Hillary doesn't face any criticism for being a woman and America is so past all that, Fooliani is, as Vee mentioned above in that interview link, openly saying a woman isn't good enough: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/giuliani-trump-us-woman/story?id=42513670
  23. 1982 ep I hadn't seen on YT before.
