  1. So did I. The baby stuff was a bit tiring but I thought she was very interesting, and I think she would have been a good fit for Marland's ATWT.
  2. Maggie left town in summer or early fall 1985, with Frank and the baby she'd adopted. It still makes no sense to me how she was never mentioned again.
  3. We saw a few years ago how alluring he is to many in the media and on the right (and on the far left as well) - he's all about image and power and wealth. He's also seemingly willingly to put some of that around. What I don't know if they realize is just how ruthless he is, as some of his friends were later bankrupted by him, if I remember correctly. Really he is the ultimate fantasy symbol for many middle-aged men - he can do whatever he wants to whoever he wants. Voice of America is now going to just be a propaganda organ. http://www.politico.com/story/2016/12/donald-trump-voice-of-america-232442 Meanwhile, McConnell is out having a swank meal with the First Lady: http://www.politico.com/tipsheets/playbook/2016/12/dnc-preps-for-mass-resignations-frank-foer-to-the-atlantic-joe-nocera-to-bloomberg-mcconnell-and-elaine-chao-dine-with-ivanka-playbook-cocktails-with-spicer-bday-jesse-ferguson-217804 And an article on just how nutty this McFarland woman is. http://www.politico.com/story/2016/12/kt-mcfarland-deputy-national-security-advisor-232388
  4. That's great. I could swear that Mr. Belvedere kid is in the Oreo ad too.
  5. You aren't alone. Saving space and so on. If you ever remember any articles and want me to see if I have the scans feel free.
  6. I'd forgotten about that. You could see what an articulate woman she was even in her responses - they're so rich. I love the anecdote about trying to figure out story for Pat and Faith even when Paul Mayer was seriously ill in the hospital. I'm so glad I managed to find this scene - one of my favorite RH scenes, and easily the highlight of a story I otherwise loathed - Rae and Kimbo fuming as Michael closes out 1980 sharing a disco dance (to my favorite song from Fame) with Delia. It was so wonderful seeing Delia happy and full of joy, even for just one dance. And the fuming was an added bonus. It's at about 26 minutes.
  7. I think with some other soaps it could be a headache - like Grape Nuts ads with Gil Rogers as a kindly grandpa airing at the same time he was a rapist and attempted murderer on AMC.
  8. Richard Burgi around the time he was on ATWT.
  9. A belated article in honor of Claire Labine... January 1987 Daytime TV
  10. If you don't mind turning off your adblock this is a good, quick read on the pointlessness and hazy nothingness of Jill Stein's recount. All that money for nothing. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/12/08/jill-steins-doomed-recount-effort-is-fading-and-she-still-cant-quite-explain-why-she-did-it/?utm_term=.451aec6c0218 They were just saying it because they were pissed off, but I was glad that some called her out as a scam artist, because that's all this is and as far as I'm concerned that's just about all she is. This or another article also mentions that this could just be the start of the money schemes that have plagued the right for years now. Sadly I would not be surprised. The Politico "10 things" article said that he got the Mexican rape stuff while talking to two guards before his announcement, or something like that. It's terrifying how susceptible he may be. I just hope that the people most in his ear are the ones who are the least like Beavis and Butthead on crystal meth.
  11. Well... http://www.politico.com/blogs/donald-trump-administration/2016/12/rex-tillerson-exxonmobil-secretary-state-232455 I'll tell you one thing - I hope all those people out there on the left who said they wanted Trump to win because they wanted to see the world burn are happy, because these picks are doing their best to do that. I genuinely believe a lot of idiots didn't think he'd have the gall or the backing to stack the deck with so many whose #1 goal is to turn the planet into one big landfill.
  12. I didn't know that. Sad. I always thought she was a good actress, although a lot of her ATWT material was irritating. I haven't seen much of her AW bits but I know she was well-liked on there.
  13. Ah. Well I think she's remembered more as someone who stayed a bit too long (which she eventually likely realized, to her credit).
  14. Short report about Michael David Morrison's death near the end. Even now it's still so saddening. In most ways I think 1993 was the year ATWT truly left us.
  15. The only thing most remember about Kirsten Storms now is her many personal problems. I'd say Erin is better off not having that.
  16. I think he just said that stuff because Bernie made it the narrative. He was always going to be a Wall Street crony and anyone with a brain should have known it. Sadly many of his voters did not. His defining choice for Cabinet picks seems to be people who are desperate to not only undo any limited progress about the environment, but to also put anyone who fights for the environment and climate change efforts in the crosshairs: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/trump-memo-energy-staffers-climate And - surprise surprise - Republicans are pushing hard for deep social security cuts. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/gop-plan-major-social-security-cuts
  17. I'm surprised he's brave enough to show his face, as that campaign seems like the type to sharpen the knives at any given time. I guess being close to Putin gives you confidence. Good luck with that. This was a pretty good read about the 10 moments that defined the campaign. http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/12/2016-presidential-election-10-moments-trump-clinton-214508
  18. Thanks. I'm glad she seems to be OK with the show again, for now. At first I was worried you meant someone was on heroin... (although that would fit Twin Peaks)
  19. I never get tired of this... http://www.politico.com/story/2016/12/trump-zeroes-in-on-rnc-chair-pick-232397 Christie, who was leading the Trump transition until mid-November, when he was replaced by Pence, lobbied for the post last week and was quickly shot down, according to a transition aide. “He has been totally politically decapitated in a sad way,” another transition official said. “Just brutal.”
  20. I love the last scene with Rachel and Alice on the boat, when she tells Alice that she saw Steve. You could see the tangled history and the respect between the two characters, and the actresses had such chemistry together. It's just a special moment.
