It goes against what this country is supposed to be.

Another piece on the allegations against Gary Goddard. I found this difficult to read. Gravitas is not a word I would use to describe Savannah Guthrie. I think that Charlie Rose did a lot to help build up CBS This Morning to be relatively competitive (albeit still a fairly distant third), so I don't think he was never 'unneeded' for their ratings, but I do think that Lauer was a drag on Today for a long time.

Looks like the certification of the VA delegates race today magically found a vote to help the Republican, which means they are now tied, and will have to flip a coin. I had a feeling Meryl Streep pushing herself in the public eye so much this past year would cause backlash, not helped by her saying she had no idea about Weinstein, but targeting her this way is just counterprodcutive and makes me worry about where this will go. I think they are fine with most of these children dying - they see them as lessers who are never going to amount to anything anyway. I have a feeling some of the more deluded members of Congress also think most of them aren't white. Most of the people who will suffer won't blame Republicans anyway, so it's a win-win for the Ayn Rand and holy roller combo. This will jack up medical costs even higher for the country as a whole, but this just gives them another opportunity to destroy health care and the social safety net even more and to kill even more people. Another win for them. That was the bad joke of so many people falling for the idea that Obama couldn't wait to "kill Grandma" - it's the GOP who very proudly kill people, year in and year out.

I can't be surprised. She always stunk of grifter-dom - likely the reason she didn't do nearly as well as she should have in an election with two very unpopular candidates. I was disgusted with her recount and with how many people were dumb enough to pay up.

I read some of the Guardian comments for the article and so many of them just seemed to go on at length about how terrible Obama was and belittling his supporters. Even now many on the left seem much more energized talking about how awful Obama (or Hillary) was than talking about Trump.

If there's any consistency to early '80s AW it's that the show is simultaneously boring as hell and weird as hell. I'm aware the full episodes are out there, I just don't have any great rush to see it, but what in the world was this obscene caller stuff supposed to be, and was I meant to laugh? Poor Gail Brown. The comfort level with Kit and a half-naked Joey and Sandy is...very high. Between that and my always thinking they could have easily whipped up a bisexual past for Sandy in his trick-turning days, I imagine I'm reading far more into this scene than I'm meant to.

I have to admit I wonder if part of the bill design was an FU to those voters, as many are liberal.

Rosie was on Andy Cohen's show last month and the after show has, starting around 6 minutes, some...odd claims about what was going on backstage at The View. Joy is also a guest and she squirms and squirms before deflecting afterward.

I think people will have to find out at some point, although whether that leads to her exit, I don't know. I wish they hadn't done it, but this is probably the time where I feel like they most managed to show that she really was on edge and that Emma pushed her into it, rather than it being premeditated. They probably should have just had her confess rather than keeping it a secret for story purposes.

There's a huge difference between this and the Tom King murder story, so I don't know if it would be seen the same way by viewers. Natalie isn't leaving as of yet, she signed another contract.

Sadly many gay men are misogynists and treat women like trash, and some are also aggressively sexual with women because they can say they didn't mean anything by it. Gay men aren't women, there are different power dynamics in things like bar and club situations, so there will be different reactions. And sometimes of course men are inappropriately touched while out and that's wrong, which needs to be discussed. The sexual abuse and the conditioning in the gay community that tells men they are only worth their bodies and should accept whatever is done to them (or whatever drugs they're offered, or reckless situations they're led into) should also be discussed. I am glad you're having those conversations with people as I wouldn't know where to begin. I wish that the person who wrote the article had done a better job - it feels like a wasted opportunity.
