  1. I've been, for some reason, spending my time watching the fascinating and disastrous 1994-1995 season of Saturday Night Live. Bruce McCulloch, best known for Kids in the Hall, did four short films for SNL around this time. This one, a very depressing look at the rise and fall of a karaoke singer, has a moment where the song he does every time is taken by someone else, someone much better. She is uncredited, but I recognized her immediately. It's Sandra P Grant, the unfortunate Rachel Gannon #3. Nice to be able to associate her with something beyond the trash she got on OLTL. https://streamable.com/j2vj0 I love seeing soap actors pop up in random places. Another episode from this season had the woman who played Eleni's grandmother on Guiding Light appear for a bit part.
  2. I'm surprised Bunin was willing to be as personal as she was in that interview. Weren't there rumors that some people on her soaps did not care for her?
  3. The photos of Christine Tudor are gorgeous.
  4. I hope he can find the help he needs.
  5. Putting the camera so close to their faces is just awkward.
  6. I'll never forget Denise Black (Joanie) saying Kate Oates told her the story was to show that older people can still find love. What a way to show it!
  7. I don't know why anyone pays Jon Voight attention. That's what he wants. He's a has-been who was last relevant in 1978.
  8. I thought the rushed element made the story better. There's no need to drag out this type of plot. Steve Halliwell has never been a strong actor, but Eden Taylor Draper was excellent. I thought the way they wrote her exit - a happy day, mixed with uncertainty and sadness, ending in her quietly passing away - was truer to Emmerdale than most of what they do these days. I also liked that they used the dog to make us feel as they likely knew it wasn't going to happen with Zak after the way he treated Lisa.
  9. I'm glad many seem to be avoiding making her a victim, which she doesn't deserve. Anyway, the responses to this Fooliani tweet made me laugh (the response from Pelosi's spokesperson also made me laugh).
  10. Sorry if this was already posted or available.
  11. Yet another reason not to trust loud Twitter voices.
  12. I agree up to late 1992. After that, I don't.
  13. Me too. It's a real credit to Justina Machado she was willing to let them put her name on there as a fakeout. I wasn't going to watch because of Will Ferrell. I can't say I regret my decision. I'm glad Marla was included though.
  14. The question I have is why would anybody think there's any change of any of this happening until after November 2020?
  15. He was never going to do any of these infrastructure plans. He doesn't want to do anything other than get money and play soldiers. Anyone who believed him is a fool.
  16. Thank you! I don't think I've ever seen them before either. I wonder if someone related to Pat Bruder is putting up episodes?
  17. One of the reasons I have such respect for David Lynch is that he's aware of the emotional connection fans have with characters, as he has also has that connection. It doesn't take away from the loss of Peggy to also mention the loss of Norma, and Ed's loss. Thank you for finding all those videos. The awkward comedy with Kyle and Chris is fun (and probably baffling for the audience). I wonder how many watching erroneously assumed they'd be in scenes together. Anyway, I'd never seen this. It's Julee Cruise's May 1990 SNL performance (she was hurriedly called, along with another band, after Sinead O'Connor canceled rather than appear with the pig you will see at the start).
  18. This feels like clumsy pandering to me, even though I agree with them about the writing for women. https://www.politico.com/story/2019/05/21/warren-and-aoc-diss-game-of-thrones-finale-1337234
  19. I'm starting to have mixed feelings about impeachment, mostly because of us being at the point where he just repeatedly strongarms the House on all levels and there is nothing done to fight back, but I can see why Pelosi still doesn't want to do it. Anyway:
  20. So sweet.
  21. Gilda Radner died 30 years ago today. One of the first celebrity deaths I understood, and mourned. I'll always miss her. Without her there would have never been an SNL for me. https://classicajays.tumblr.com/post/7734859743/so-here-it-is-everyone-the-steve-martin-monologue
  22. I guess they see it that way. I can't say I agree. But I was never a fan of that character so who I am to say.
