Those people are cultists. Most of the polls in the swing states have always been close. This has never been a blowout election. What we are now seeing suggests even further tightening, along with the already strong likelihood of Republicans keeping the Senate further increasing. It's a pretty bleak scenario, but nothing polling has ever argued against. Meanwhile, voters in North Carolina were pepper-sprayed today, and arrested, along with reporters. Trump is also retweeting and bragging about his supporters in Texas trying to kill Biden supporters yesterday. If any of you here are voting in person, my thoughts are with you. This is getting uglier by the day and it has only just started.

I never really thought Biden was going to win Iowa anyway, but if that Selzer polling is accurate (and that's being questioned in spite of its sterling reputation because some of the House results are very out of whack), along with Emerson showing Trump winning NE-02 (although again the poll methodology is questionable), it may suggest some sort of comeback. I figured this was going to be close, which is extremely dangerous because the courts will likely give Trump a close election. More from Texas:

If you need a laugh, read the very, very long correction at the top of this article. https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2020/11/squash-lacrosse-niche-sports-ivy-league-admissions/616474/

I know Trent Dawson isn't too popular here, but this is a little promo he did for Dutch fans recently.

The only reason Carol left was down to the actress wanting to return to the stage. Lemay and Rauch loved casting theater actors but the price the show paid in the long-term was many people who had no interest in long-term stints.

Bill Kristol's son works for Tom Cotton and Kristol has praised Cotton, so you can guess where this is going. If he does pick Cotton (a charisma vacuum with a lot of rumors swirling about him), then that would make sense, given his support for Sarah Palin. Miami-Dade ballots being held up, AKA more Florida rigging, right on cue. https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/video-of-piles-of-mail-at-miami-dade-post-office-brings-up-concerns-of-ballot-backup/2314409/

Saturday Night Live: Discussion Thread
I'm looking forward to it - his last episode wasn't that great, but was also kind of last minute booking for him. I am hoping this one will be truer to his strengths...once we get past the 15 minute political garbage cold opens, anyway. Those never fail to drain the life out of the night. If anyone is interested he's put up various photos on his Onstagram of behind the scenes material. Hopefully he will have more.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
I watched the Sarah Cooper special on Netflix. Frankly, I don't really recommend it, but If you are a Marisa Tomei fan, she has a surprising and important to the story (what there is, anyway) cameo near the end.

Lil Wayne needs a lot of help. He was abused, in myriad ways, from the time he was a young boy, and many of his fans aren't even sure how much longer he will be alive due to his heavy drug dependency. Trump and his ilk prey on the weak. More alarm bells from Florida (you may remember Rep Frederica Wilson for, among other things, refusing to be browbeaten by the worthless John Kelly). Ideally the results won't rest on Florida, even though I know many there are working hard. https://www.politico.com/news/2020/10/29/miami-voter-turnout-democrats-433643 Minnesota will join the vote-suppressing pile. https://www.politico.com/news/2020/10/29/court-suggests-minnesota-ballots-tossed-433656- The Media/Journalism Thread
The worst part about Chuck Todd (or maybe the best, I don't know) is he isn't even good at what he's trying to do. He's like a very effete manager in an old Bing Crosby film. Anyway, Glenn Greenwald is pulling his own Bari Weiss/Andrew Sullivan tantrum and is now fully free to beg !@#$%^&*] Carlson for validation. Maybe he can get Aaron Coleman on his payroll. I'm sure he'd love that...- The Politics Thread
The Beltway is already getting the latest astroturf ready to take us back to 2009. If they get the White House and the Senate, I just hope they won't make the same mistakes of that period...and hopefully there will be no Lieberman figures.- The Politics Thread
It's hard to get images of military uniforms walking alongside Trump at St. John's, or the thought of Neal Gorsuch as a swing vote on a complete theocracy, out of my mind, but, like I said, I just hope against hope it won't get to that point. Anyway, at least this is good for a laugh - one last grift ("hackers" indeed).- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Absolutely. She had her flaws, but she had a very tough road, both for her gender and for the battle she fought against the corporate suffocation and censorship that ultimately consumed and killed the genre. I agree that no one who was at the show in its later years should be writing scripts (maybe Richard and Carolyn Culliton...).- Santa Barbara Discussion Thread

It's so lovely of them to do this for fans when we need the comfort of soaps more than ever, especially considering Larry's bad blood with the show. P&G and so many others in soapland did not care about what soaps meant to people. I hope Irna was somewhere watching, at least (likely with a long list of complaints...). This is what she created ATWT for.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
That's nice to hear. I hope Marie is doing alright. I'd really like to see the casts get some original scripts to play, like Big Finish does with shows like Dark Shadows. I guess that is not likely given P&G.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
I thought you weren't posting here anymore, but thank you for answering my questions. I didn't expect Eileen to participate, to be honest, and I just hope she is living comfortably and at peace. Anne Sayre is a fine actress. As for Tom, I'm sure Trent was fine. It's not as if he had anything to do at the end anyway.- The Politics Thread
In Bannon's ideal world, this would have been people like Boris Johnson, who is an oaf, but still knows enough to steer well clear. Boris isn't much better than Farage, but if the UK had our system of government, Farage would likely be PM. He is their Trump. That he keeps being asked here is laughably pathetic - if only Piers Morgan (who is back on the ass-kissing Trump train) had stuck it out in the US longer he'd probably be on the stage instead. August Pollak makes some sound points, but I think they overestimate just how many people are going to react if the courts give Trump a win. There will be protestors, but many will ignore them, and the military will be sent out against them. Many assume Trump will win anyway, based on some of the "who do you think will win?" polls. There's been years spent with the media telling us that the majority prefer Trump and the many reasons why Democrats will lose. The media will be in full court press to get people to accept these results, and those who don't will have few options. The decision to accept the 2000 election being stolen from Al Gore, alongside the decision by the GOP to put three people who helped make that happen onto the SCOTUS, have led us to where we are now. They will do anything they want, because they know they can. I am just hoping against hope for a big enough win to where this can't happen, but right now it's hard.- Coronavirus/Covid-19 Discussion Thread
