@Vee I know you were joking, but best of luck. It's not a surprise that we are - yet again - faltering, this time on the vaccine front, but it's no less frightening.

I liked Tina. I thought LBW was a very good actress who always tried her best, and the character felt more 'real' to me than most of the family that is left. Linda is as much a plot device as ever, just a waste of space, and Danny Dyer just has completely given up. In the last 15 or so years, EE is an anti-gay show at its heart, so the treatment of Tina is right along those lines. But let's all clap our hands in glee for "Queen Kate," savior of soaps.

Runoffs tend to favor Republicans in Georgia, so you're likely right. I think polling has become all but meaningless so I'm not sure how much either party is going to be relying on it going forward. It also depends on whether the media convinces people to fall for the idea that the GOP wanted to do the bill but Democrats didn't go along. I notice the fauxgressives tried to make Richard Durbin's complaining about Bernie holding up the NDAA bill into the main issue of the day, alongside the pointless effort to stop Pelosi from being speaker, so clearly the issue is hurting the GOP somewhat. But Mitch usually gets what he wants and suffers no political consequences - I imagine the same is true this time. Republicans always win, one way or another. And we pay the price. Nate Cohn has been following the early voting results. He's said that so far turnout is more favorable to Democrats than the general was, but cautions it doesn't matter because we have no idea what the election day turnout will be.

That's awful. The Republicans like that fat drunk Matt Gaetz who went around wearing a [!@#$%^&*] gas mask in the House as a joke should always be remembered for their crassness and ignorance and helping to spread what we now have. Apparently he wasn't a mask-wearer (?). I hope this will be a lesson to others. I'm sorry to his friends and family for their loss.

A SOM issue from March 1994 has a quick goodbye from Alexia Robinson (Meg). She says she had been negotiating with the show, and it didn't work out, and now she was hoping for primetime success. The blurb concludes by saying that the next Meg would have a big story. Was this just generic talk, or were there ever any real plans to give Meg more of a story? I see that Lisa Canning appeared for a few months, but she didn't seem to do much.

Much of the media would sell their children to keep the GOP in power, so alongside the usual vile smears against Raphael Warnock (with more out today), you also have the "paper of record" trying to help David Perdue by claiming that Jon Ossoff isn't experienced enough. If the Democrats manage to win the Senate, then they really need to work on breaking down the media that have done so much damage to this country, and continue to do so.

I wish someone could ask Marie... Anyway, this is Audrey Landers, I believe, so I wonder if the casting person for this commercial was a Somerset fan. Did Audrey and Ted Danson share story?

I don't watch that much but I have seen the comments about Andy all over Twitter. Something has to give soon. The days of naughty, sassy Aunty Andy just don't fit with modern times...and having him so heavily involved in the dramas of black female casts is very off.

Not sure if this was already known, but I was looking at a soap magazine from, I guess, March 1994, and they mentioned the show was trying to bring back John Aprea. They also mentioned casting was in the works for Felicia's new love interest, "Maxwell Kramer." They did ultimately bring Aprea back 3 years later, but I wonder if the delay is why Felicia didn't do a lot in 1994 or early 1995.

What a big pile of [!@#$%^&*]. Go-nowhere tech repeals and voter fraud hysteria that will enable the GOP and their media allies to further degrade Biden's win. Meanwhile, the 2K will likely be attached to something like the tech repeal or draconian voter "protection" measures they know Democrats will never support, leading Jake Sherman and friends to blame it all on the usual suspects. At least the $600 and the unemployment money will be on the way for people, even if it's too late for some. That in of itself is a good thing. I just wish someday it did not have to be attached to so much absolute garbage.

Honey was never really a mother to Jay - there were periods of a few months at a time where she would be maternal toward him, but most of the time they were in different paths (especially the last few years). With that said, the whole thing is just empty and clearly a stopgap until Billy and Honey reunite (which I have less than no interest in seeing). The moment where Billy confronted Jay was so badly acted, especially by Perry Fenwick. Even worse is that the relationship began again Jay saved Honey from being raped. The misogyny of "Queen Kate" and Jon Sen is staggering. I've never seen the actors as clearly over the material as they are now. The Christmas episode was terrible, one of the all time worst for EE, but what really made the badness stand out was the complete lack of [!@#$%^&*] given by people like Jake Wood, Danny Dyer, Adam Woodyatt (awful!!!) and Letitia Dean. Max Bowden was also incredibly poor. I will cut and paste my Walford Web review here.

And David Perdue is still running ads claiming credit for the package. Ossoff is trying to have them taken down, but it shows again how much media consolidation is tipped in favor of the GOP. Pat Toomey, resembling a Cronenberg protagonist more every day, already flat out said that they won't be passing $2K stimulus in the Senate. So the question is whether McConnell will be able to wait out the backlash, as he usually does, and whether the media will stop carrying water or obsessing over Trump's involvement and trying to "both sides" their way out of this, and if they don't, will the public at least see through it enough to win the Georgia seats. I know a lot of leftists hate him, but Conor Lamb shows where the focus should be.

Thanks for posting that here. The Marx Brothers feel of so many people standing outside the cave amused me. Good scenes with Casey and Steffi (both characters always feel so 'real'). Bittersweet to see the Alden clan here - I guess this is near the end of Pat Barry's time as Isabelle. Lovely moment near the end with Ava and Alex. Chris Marcantel was such a talented actor - he plays Curtis' slim grip on sanity without overdoing it. Great moments with Tess too, who was such a compelling anti-heroine. Dante is always a bit too silly for me but Thom Christopher plays the part well. The cliffhanger was a neat twist, albeit a bit clunky in execution.

Michael Alig and Ernie Glam had a Youtube channel for several years. It was never not unsettling to see them trying to be 'normal,' which just wasn't going to happen.
