  1. Wow, kudos for putting all that in one or two posts. I never know how to do that.
  2. That Zainab/Masood scene on Friday's episode is going to go in my very very exclusive section for Favorite Eastenders Scenes of All Time. Nina and Nitin are beyond superb together. I couldn't stop watching the part with <SLAP> YUSEFHASDONENOTHING!!!! And the look on his face, the pain and shock in his eyes...
  3. As always I wanted to say thanks for typing these up, both in this thread and in several others.
  4. John was still alive at this time right? It's odd that the synopsis doesn't mention him at all.
  5. There was a bit a of a flap in the early/mid 90's because GL didn't get as many covers, as they didn't sell. I think the one from that time (Lucy/Alan-Michael) was a low-seller. They got a few more covers when the ratings went back up in 1997.
  6. I have that cover somewhere, although it's in rough shape. They also have a cover at Soap Opera World, although there's a subscription label on it. http://www.soapoperaworld.com/soap-opera-digest-kathleen-noone-paul-satterfield.html
  7. Lemay gave Vicky Wyndham some ferocious material in his brief time back, with the war with the Frames and her cold fury at Liz after Liz let it slip to Matthew about how he was conceived. Sadly I don't believe those scenes are online. I don't think Swajeski ever really knew the character, although she did at least try, unlike certain later writers or producers. I had forgotten that Jamie was living with the Frames at that time. That was the only time Jamie's Frame side was ever really utilized, even though it was kind of obvious, you know, considering his last name was Frame and everything. Josie MOST POINTLESS CHARACTER EVER.
  8. I don't know how much of that to believe, although I think most of the cuts are believable. I do have to laugh at the "Cullinson" stuff again - if anything Collinson has not fired ENOUGH people. The show is a stunt-laden, bitter wasteland. I also had to laugh at the idea of new characters somehow making the place better. Not with Collinson. I've never seen so many lifeless and worthless new characters created by one producer. Actor after actor is hyped and then flops. After the fans at DS who love PC's Corrie have hyped and hyped Chris Gray, who comes across like a reject from Deliverance, I wonder how they will react to this. And what a lovely ending for the characters, if this is true - a woman who was beaten goes back to her abuser. That is typical of the show's current view of women. I really hope this is BS, or a foiler, or whatever, because let's just say that Amber was NOT a character who would be believable in some grand passion storyline. Neither is Sophie.
  9. I haven't watched much lately. I hope they aren't ruining Dennis. Just when I am tempted to start again I read garbage like
  10. Speaking of that, I was wondering about the spoilers for the next few weeks
  11. Thanks so much for these - I still have a lot of reservations about both Chris and Peggy being raped, but it does sound like high emotional drama and like they were told from the woman's point of view and showed the true ugliness of rape. I always wish I could see this Lance/Lorie/Lucas early days, although it must have been sad for Brad fans.
  12. Yeah I remember the publicity photo of Mac/Rachel from the early or mid 80's and Doug was shirtless. He looked great, especially for his age. That's why I joked about him keeping his shirt on here. Do you know if they ever tried to bring Bekins back and he wasn't interested, or if they never did? I haven't seen a lot of the 84-85 Jamie (he seems OK, just kind of pretty boy), but I thought Lau and Todd were not exactly great in the part - Lau got better but was never believable enough, and Todd was just a little too overly earnest. I also wonder why they had him go back to being Jamie. So was this right before Joey left the show? Was Rose already gone by this time?
  13. True, although I was a bit shocked at the part of her husband almost getting into a brawl with a producer. Between this and Dana Andrews I wonder what the set was like...
  14. So the hostage story was a strike story right? Who was writing during the strike? The story just seems to have the same loop of trying to escape and they don't...even after multiple people are shot they don't escape. The episode where Mac is shot is kind of hilarious as that and Jamie shooting Ed O'Neill are in cheesy slo-mo. I also wonder if someone was looking for a reason to have Richard Bekins half-dressed for weeks on end. Then they started stripping Chris Rich too. I'm surprised Doug Watson was left out.
  15. Thanks for this! The stuff with Gwen sounds touching. Reading about Kay and Jill now makes me feel sad...
  16. This is a Nicole Peters column.
  17. This is from the November 1971 Afternoon TV. I'll post the photo first then type the article. It's probably already known by the BP fans here but it talks about the circumstances of Anne Jeffreys' departure, which wasn't well-handled, to say the least.
  18. They seem to get rid of most of their new characters very quickly (or just leave them standing around doing nothing) but I hope Greg stays. That would provide more consequences for the inevitable Tanya/Max reunion, and he is also way too hot to get rid of - the show isn't big in eye candy now.
  19. When Robin Strasser left AW the first time, AW asked Karen Lynn Gorney to replace her. Karen said she was happy at AMC. AW hired Margie Impert instead.
  20. Please do share your synopses. I posted some of 1976, so if you don't want to duplicate you can find those earlier in the thread. But I just typed them up, they weren't scans.
  21. Kelly wore that type of stuff early on because the show wanted us to see she wore stupid clothes to seem hip or cultured. Then, as now, she had no personality to speak of.
  22. I wouldn't have recognized June. Polly reminds me of Bev Callard for some reason.
