  1. I think Craig made it look like he had been stalking Lucy, and then it got out of hand and he died. Craig was "punished" by Hunt Block doing more bad acting, this time in a monastery. The show had that Sheffer stench everywhere by this time - random pairings and stories that made no sense. Sheffer's going on about how Jen would lose her virginity and become a slut, or whatever, makes me wonder just how desperate they were to get another teenage girl devirginized. They must have been kicking themselves that Craig was her biological father.
  2. They did Paul/Lucy? I never could get past how babyish this Allison was. And she reminds me of Leven Ramben.
  3. Thank you so much. I have some more on the way tonight, hopefully, and also a few Rituals synopses.
  4. Yes, BBC America ran classic episodes for a while. I taped some of them. I think they were in 1987 when they stopped. I loved those - it was the only chance I'd had at that time to see some of the show's best, like Sue Osman, Angie, Colin. When BBC America dropped that, around late 2000 or early 2001, I lost interest, as the main show itself was so full of Phil and Mel that I was sick of it.
  5. Great stuff, aside from the usual Tea bull of this period (and that unflattering haircut).

  7. You're right! I just remembered those scenes of Lee and that "Dynawoman" who was in Kate's wedding. I wonder if Lee and Maria had any interaction.
  8. The backstory for Maria and Tom Dennison was that they were close friends and knew each other before arriving in Llanview. I kind of wonder about that, as I thought Maria had spent her entire life in Texas (and Tom and Mari Lynn didn't seem to be from there). It's too bad Maria was dead by the time Lee arrived, as I wonder if Maria knew anything abotu that mess. I have an article with her from 1985 but she doesn't say whether she quit or was let go.
  9. I don't have the June or July 1978 issues at the moment. August 1978 Digest
  10. My favorite part of that opening was Lisa with the hands-on-hips pose. So what did you think of ATWT at the time of these clips? I remember SOD at the time trashing the Cabot story, and the Rosanna/Paul stuff.
  11. Some of the color episodes were destroyed, and all that is left is a black and white master.
  12. I kind of liked the openings in the show's last years - for me the worst was the 93-99 one, which always depressed me (I know that it was a beautiful theme and had a nice set of pictures, I just associate that theme with the time "my" ATWT left), and the toilet flush one of 99-01 or whenever.
  13. The problem with Melissa was she probably was never going to develop in the role, because they always seemed to encourage her worst as an actress. I never cared that much about a resemblance to Cindy either, because it was nothing more than surface. Cindy wasn't going around smirking and sneering and woodenly barking her lines and being some big super villainess when she was a teenager.

  19. For the first months they only had Lieberman to get them 60 votes, as the GOP, who went on about vote fraud, kept Al Franken from being seated. Not long after that, Ted Kennedy passed away, which meant an empty seat (and he was rarely able to attend in his last months anyway). You left off Bill Clinton, the man GWB and the Republicans spent 8 years blaming for the economy.
  20. Dorian had ties to Edwina, who was in Marco's story - she also had the fights with Larry and Karen. I'm not sure if they ever closely interacted. Here are the April and May 1978 Digest recaps.
  21. I think Gillian would probably play her not too far off from the Viki of today - Viki has become flightier and a bit weaker over the years, compared to the more regal and sometimes very cold, imperious figure she was in the 80's and early 90's. It's always strange to me when I read about Dorian/Marco. I can never picture that, and I wonder if the show ever mentioned it later on, after Marco was reformed and Dorian was Strasser.
  22. What does she have in her hand? An apple? Is she going to punch someone out? I guess Jim accidentally called her Carla too many times...
