Yes he was on SB in that role. Looks like an episode from the writers' strike period is up. Actually several are. Here's the first.

I think they were around the same time.- All My Children Tribute Thread
It has more insight than most soap posts I see, frankly. Who was Marcus? I'm blanking.- The Politics Thread
Politico said that Cruz really underwhelmed with his speech, and the most attention he got was his shot at Bob Dole (which McCain asked him to apologize for). Anyway, looks like David Jolly is going to beat Alex Sink by about 2%-3%. I think when this started a few months ago I said here he would win. I'm not that surprised. For all his flaws (and he is going to be a very flawed Congressman, and likely far less willing to bring the bacon home than Bill Young was), the district has supported Republicans for decades, and Alex Sink is a piss-poor candidate. I assume this was her last shot at the carousel.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Well Holden and Michael were similar (self-righteous assholes).- The Politics Thread
I think it's going to be close. I'd say 1% either way. Or 2%. As you may have heard, the GOP is furious with Jolly, but I have to wonder how much of that is to try to convince Sink voters that they can stay home. http://www.politico.com/story/2014/03/david-jolly-alex-sink-florida-special-election-2014-104397.html Media darling Marco, in spite of Beltway gushing over his speech and how hard he's working to prove to them what a stud he is, had a horrible showing at CPAC this weekend. http://www.slate.com/blogs/weigel/2014/03/08/cpac_2014_rand_paul_wins_the_straw_poll_as_marco_rubio_s_support_collapses.html- The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
It's mostly tumblr, but bleeds over to other places (TWOP sometimes, or some article comments sections - for instance, an idiotic Wetpaint article that erroneously claimed TWD was beaten in 18-49 this week by Resurrection got comments from fans saying it was all because of Beth and Daryl and the show ignoring Carol for Beth and Daryl). It's not as bad as I make out but it can get annoying when I want to talk with people about a story and they are talking about how Carol will die because of the show's agenda for Daryl/Beth. Shawn, I think you're probably right.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I guess they assume Brandi makes good TV. Gretchen no longer seemed to do that, presumably. I have to wonder why they aren't more alarmed at the flat ratings for BH, which will likely only decline further. This cast is simultaneously boring and toxic, a very bad combination.- The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
I keep forgetting Carol is still there. I guess because I keep wondering if she's going to die soon. I wish the character hadn't gotten so involved in the shipping wars. I've seen more fans arguing about "Caryl" vs "Bethyl" than talking about her actual storyline with the girls.- Guiding Light Discussion Thread

Yes, they are. No, they never said what happened to Sam and Kirk. Of course the writer and producer who did that story were fired later the same year. Still, it annoyed me, as family was precious to Lucinda.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Kirk wanted to have more children. Ellie was not happy with this, as she was a career woman, and he had already abandoned two children. Ellie learned she was pregnant and wasn't sure what to do. She went to New York for business, and while there, tests revealed that the baby would be deformed. Ellie had an abortion. When Kirk learned what she'd done, he dumped her. A year later, they finally divorced, although he had some regrets about it. They had tried to write Kirk out several times (he was supposed to drown while on his honeymoon with Samantha in mid-1995), but finally wrote him out for good in 1999. I think there was some fan backlash, as he had something of a following (they called themselves "Kirkadoodles"), but not enough for the show to bring him back, obviously. On the one hand I could see where he'd reached his end, but I always liked Kirk. He had a humor and sharpness that made ATWT stand out from a dozen other soaps. His exit was another example of the ABC-ification of ATWT in those years. Here's some of Ellie learning about the baby. I must warn that ATWT was the definition of open-a-vein at this time. Trivia note - Renee Props (Ellie) had been involved with Jon Hensley around this time. I think one of the reasons she left was because of the breakup.- As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Yes. The character was a recurring role who was mostly there because she knew all of Kirk's past, so she was the only person he could be honest with. I think he may have left his wife and kids for her, or they were lovers before he got married. I can't remember. Here's an episode with Susan. (she also came back for Kirk and Ellie's wedding) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrJviNS6QW4#t=0- The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
I haven't really seen Lost so I can't say. I know there's a certain ponderousness in this genre (it's one of the reasons I could only take so much BSG - well that and that horrible actor who played Baltar), and TWD falls prey to this too. I feel like a part of TWD has always been pretentious, and I feel like they're getting a little too wrapped up in their own niche (all the music montages, for instance). I have mixed feelings about the format of recent episodes. I feel like we're getting genuine character development, which I am happy about, because I felt like last season everything sort of fizzled out after Lori and T-Dog were killed, and there was a lot of time spent setting up a threat who just wasn't very threatening (The Governor), a lot of time spent establishing a story arc for Andrea which was snuffed out, and a lot of people at the prison who were full of angst, but had little to say or do. Yet there's only so much development you can get if the story is going nowhere. I actually like Beth, but I don't need or want her to be Daryl's salivation. Frankly, I just don't care about Daryl at this point, and he's starting to creep me out a little. One of the problems I have is that I almost dread when they do get to Terminus, because I'm afraid it's just going to be another "good" place which quickly goes bad and everyone runs around like chickens with their heads cut off as the characters who aren't main cast members might die, or might not. I guess what I'm saying is I love a lot of the characters (Sasha, Maggie, Glenn, Rick, Michonne) and like many other characters (Tara, Beth, Bob, Tyreese), but I don't really have any interest in the actual storyline the show is working on, especially if that storyline involves Abraham, Mullet Man, and Daisy Duke. The show is all character and no plot. And I'm not sure how I feel about this.- The Politics Thread
Joseph McGinniss, who wrote a scathing insider account of Nixon's 1968 campaign, but may be most recently known for his feud with Sarah Palin, passed away. http://www.politico.com/story/2014/03/joe-mcginniss-dies-at-71-104507.html- The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
I think it's stupid that Maggie hasn't mentioned her sister. I agree that it's bad writing. The reason I was disagreeing was because of the comment that her having psychological problems was convenient, like it's something fans are saying to defend her. Kirkman said it in the interview, and I thought she was acting this way even before Kirman's interview.- The Walking Dead: Discussion Thread
