EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Pirie was last seen running a drama school in Canada. Not sure if she still is. I loved her on Corrie. What a waste. Oh well. Spot the EE actor starting at 2:35.

I thought Kate looked about 10 years older than her age, but I wasn't really talking about Levin - more the godawful rug on that loser Ed Coleridge (I really do wonder if that + his wooden acting are why he got the chop), and the messy Grecian Formula poor John Gabriel was stuck with for a decade.

The bad wigs and dye jobs on RH were terrible. I'd rather have premature gray men any day.

Makes sense, although I don't know who would give a pet turtle to Val, let alone a child. I hope they laugh her out of court. I guess now we know why she said a few months ago that she had a nightmare about Kyle.

Lockie's the guy we were talking about a few months back - the bi guy married to John Paul's cousin. He and John Paul nearly hooked up in December.

Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
Bob. Absolutely superb scenes today with Cain and Marlon. Shadrach was a character who stayed far too long and only really worked for me when he was close to Laurel and Ashley - there was more effective use of him today, long dead, than most of the time he was alive. Jeff Hordley's a great actor because he doesn't just show up to work when he can play Cain's Greatest Hits. He's always willing to play the quieter, more nuanced moments too, which is why the character manages to evolve and still have an edge, even after spending the last 6 months saving widows and orphans. Anyway, this casting news makes me wonder if BE's favorite is on the way back: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s12/emmerdale/news/a645863/emmerdale-denise-black-to-return-as-joanie-wright.html

I'd say it's more vulnerability than warmth, necessarily, as I do think Bethel was warm (like when we saw her trying to help a deluded Liz about Nick), but I agree. I do think Lydia really adds a lot to the friendship group of Nick/Althea/Matt/Maggie. I always believed in Bethel's Maggie as a friend to Althea, but removing a bit of the 30's type ice-cracked wit makes me believe it more. I do miss the banter Bethel's Maggie had with Nick. I don't think Bethel's Maggie would have been believable as suffering or struggling in the Karen/Matt mess though. She would have just booted him out no muss no fuss.

It's terrifying how many in the GOP hierarchy are willing to placate this Jude Helm paranoia to rev up their base. Remember when our leaders cared about the public good?

I think it was either one or two. I'm not sure as I've just seen her in "Quola" clips.

We'll probably get that too...if the show still remembers Lockie is bi.

Yep. I was a little harsh on the guy who plays Harry. I think he has potential...but the current work I've seen, I don't think he can play it. It's too bad this show doesn't allow actors to grow. If anything they just get worse.

No the spoiler is about someone who is supposedly going to die soon. Spoiler space just in case:

Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
Yes, that's Sinead. The whole "moment" was ridiculous - spoon-feeding him. If the crap actor who plays him didn't look 30, the implications of the scene would have been very unsettling. And he and Kieron look alike in the face, which is also weird. There are rumors/spoilers going around about who dies soon, if anyone wants to know.

Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
The cousin looks like one of those movie or sitcom scenes where the chemistry lab project blows up in the person's face for an lol moment. The acting and writing and everything are so bad. Amateurish. Stephanie Davis is especially terrible. I watched one clip and felt dirty.

Knots Landing
I'd never seen this. Donna Mills, through Rona Barrett, gives the Falwell types a glorious smackdown.

Guiding Light Discussion Thread
They're up to about where they were when the channel got taken down. I guess we'll see if they upload something new (beyond the spring and December 1979 episodes they put up). Does anyone know which other episodes are available from that era? I know the full episodes of Holly's rape and aftermath must be around somewhere, and there are commercials from a 1978 episode that someone said was Rita and Ed's wedding, but I don't know.

Sometimes Laryssa Lauret reminds me of Penny McLean of Silver Connection (especially the moments where McLean blatantly looks terrified), and I amuse myself with a Doctors AU where Karen is a horribly neurotic international pop star.- What Are You Listening To?
I always wonder if anyone was actually paid for this choreography or if they just winged it 10 minutes before taping.- Hollyoaks: Discussion Thread
What a joke. The show just keeps getting more desperate and tacky. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s13/hollyoaks/news/a645816/hollyoaks-teen-harry-thompson-revealed-as-stes-new-love-interest.html I really want someone to bitch slap Ste.- HBO: Game of Thrones
