  1. It's already bought lol
  2. "See the sunlight, we ain’t stopping Keep on dancing til the world ends If you feel it, let it happen Keep on dancing till the world ends" *cums*
  3. Ma Perkins and The Romance of Helen Trent ended in 1960, and I think they might have been the longest-running of the radio soaps (in the US, at least).
  4. I'm gonna miss Glenda. She definitely added a bit of class to the show, and I was hoping her friendship with Carol would be strengthened. In regards to Neil...is it wrong that I laugh? I wonder what the poor girl looks like.
  5. He's always been quite good to you!? Is there something you're not telling us!? But yeah, the Zane actor's been pretty much on on-point since his first episode. I'm not that big on Zane the character, though. Of course, that's not really fair for me to say because it's been a while since I've watched, but he's always had this air of superiority. Almost to the point of being insensitive to the fact that Riley was still in the closet. Speaking of which, did the show ever decide if Riley is or isn't out of the closet at school? The last episode I watched, he was supposedly still closeted, but then he's having these intimate, heartfelt conversations in the middle of the hallway, and then he goes to the LGBT club meeting.
  6. I saw a clip of Anya giving Riley his makeover...that hair looked down-right HEINOUS right before they cut it off. Just...ugh. Gross. But now he's cute again. Has his acting gotten any better?
  7. Totally agree. Four lovely voices.
  8. Yes, the Knots early stories are much better than the DALLAS ones. I still can't get over how so many of the early DALLAS episodes reached climax within the last five minutes and left absolutely no room for fall out...just a quick scene of the family sitting around at home having a laugh. Almost like a sitcom. I wonder if the show would have lasted (probably not) if it had stuck to its original premise. I love 70s family drama (Family and Eight is Enough need to be on TV somewhere right now!), but I really think KL had no choice but to glam up and get soapy.
  9. Getting to the end of season one... I'm liking this season better than the stuff I watched of season two, definitely. Everything's stuffed into each episode, but I like the plot lines better. It would have been cool to see some stuff like Laura's rape, Sid's first wife returning, Lucy's visit, etc, stretched out over two or three episodes instead of just being self-contained. But still, good stuff. I didn't like how predictable the story with Sid's first wife was, though. It would have been more interesting if she wasn't trying to get Sid back, especially considering it'd been decades since they saw each other. It made her look kind of sad to still be pining away after him. Yet Karen's eagerness to get to know her kinda rang false for me. Ginger's stalker(!!!) story was kinda weird. The Wally Cox-ish guy at the school was just...weird, and I guess he was supposed to be there as a red herring, but he was such a poor little fool, it was obvious he wasn't the one. I loved the back story with Priscilla Pointer, though, that was great. It was an interesting topic to touch on, and combining empty nest syndrome with abortion was pretty good. As far as the characters, maybe I was a bit too hard on Ginger on Carl's status update. I like her and Kenny, basically, and I like the idea of them, the role they're supposed to be play, but Ginger's such a Mary Sue!! I remember some later (season 4-ish) episodes with her bitching out Ciji, so I hope that Ginger pops up more soon. And then I know she gets better in season two as well. Kenny, on the other hand, is just pure cheese.

  11. See? Attention whores come in all shapes and sizes.

  13. That picture of Sally makes me piss myself with laughter. I don't really see the resemblance...I mean Gaga's hat looks like a cornette, but it's not one.
  14. Thanks to Sister Act, I grew up thinking that song was really a gospel hymn. I had no idea that it was originally just an early 60s pop song
  15. 16. And if the convo went like this: INTERVIEWER: So...the egg? What does it mean? GAGA: I just felt like it. INTERVIEWER: ... GAGA: I mean, whatever, right? I'd love it. But it "means" something, so blah.
  17. Nonsense. Sylph loves Hidden Palms. But back to Gaga. She needs to be more like P!nk in that "Bae, I reeeeally don't give a [!@#$%^&*]!!" way.
  18. Yeah, like I said, the acting is bad, but I love it just the way it is. I wouldn't want them to be better or for the dialogue to be any different because it all still manages to suck me in very well and it's just part of the show's charm. The dialogue on the current show ("Degrassi: The Next Generation: The Next Generation") is its very own brand of bad. They're trying to be all Gossip Girl-style provocative, but then they also throw in the awkward statistics and slogans (anything dealing with Riley, especially the "Still Fighting It" arc), so it's just...weird. Sometimes they get it right, but most of the time it's just...ugh. But that's the whole show right now. I miss S3-S5 so much. I think I'll have a gander at some of KDS episodes, just for the experience. I was kinda weirded out seeing Caitlin so young on DJH, I guess I'll be even more creeped out at seeing her in a more kiddie setting!! I'm looking forward to more of the junior high years, though, and hopefully finding the high school stuff as well.
  19. I didn't realize that there are some KDS episodes on YouTube. Do you think I should go back and watch those before moving on to the second season of DJH? I have to say, the acting on DJH is just...ATROCIOUS. The acting and the dialogue. I love the show, don't get me wrong, because little bitty things like writing and acting have never gotten in the way of me being entertained, but it's just so PSA-ish! It feels like Linda and co. basically thought "We want this show to attack the serious issues! So we're going to use facts! Lots of facts! And the characters will recite those facts! And we're going to use as many issues as possible! This week, smoking! This week, pregnancy! This week, lesbians! This week, stealing! Back to back to back!!" Melanie is one of my favorites, too, just because she sounds so deluded and spaced out half the time. "Iiiif you ask meeee, Yick, yoooouuu should be sports rep, and nottttt Stephanieeee." And dude, YES! That guy does sound/look like DJH Rick. Crazy!
  20. Same here. I can like the music while also thinking the artist is douchey. Yes, Kanye, I mean you.
  21. Sometimes I remember that video like it was just released yesterday, including the girl who grabs her own crotch. I've been loving Hold It Against Me. The chorus is way catchy and hummable.
  22. I'm almost finished S1 of Degrassi Junior High (yes, I know, I'm taking my sweeeet time). Spike annoyed the hell out of me in her big pregnancy episode. They're doing with Spike/Shane the same thing they would do with Jenna/KC on DTNG. The girl finds out she's pregnant, lets it marinate in her mind for a while, gets somewhat used to the idea, then drops it all on the guy and expects him to be at the same level of acceptance as she is. I didn't like that. Rick is so weird. The way he stormed off with his fugly hair, pimply face, and airtight jeans in the anti-factory episode was hilarious. If I had to pick favorite characters, I'd have to say Wheels (except for the random bitching out of his bio-dad), Joey, Caitlin, Lucy, and Yick. On the DTNG side of things, how was tonight's premiere?
