Yeah, I'm not too big on the "Aaaahhhhhhnnnnneighbuhrrrrrrssss" themes that they've had. This one seems like a backtrack to the earlier 2000s. I prefer the 1999ish theme from the eps Oxygen showed back in the day.

That's what I was worried about. Everything does slowly build and build, and I feel like I wouldn't be doing the show justice if I skipped. I guess I'll just see it through. I'm really enjoying it, it's just that I barely have time to watch it

OK, I am TERRIBLY behind in my watching of the show. Like, I understand they're now in September? I'm still in February. For those who have been watching steadily, should I just skip ahead? If so, where should I skip ahead to (September, or maybe some point during the summer?)? Or should I just watch some highlights from throughout the gap? Or should I just keep watching where I am? I'm looking through this thread, and it seems like I'll miss a lot of stuff if I skip through, but I also feel like it'll take me forever to catch up.

I know who Gary Glitter is because I was in band in high school, and yes, Rock & Roll Part 2/The Hey Song was definitely a huge part of repertoire. Even then, he was nothing more than a name in the top right corner of the music! To be fair, I don't think anyone here called for TCS to be pulled off the air or for BC's shows to be cancelled. Not many are disputing the decisions made by TPTB in these cases, though, and that's our right. If anyone here actually gave a f!ck about Gary Glitter, then I'm sure it would be the same story. The only difference is that Gary Glitter is irrelevant as f!ck and is already on his way to jail, so what exactly can be taken from him at this point? His song is the icon, not him. On the other hand, Bill Cosby is an entire brand all by himself, with or without TCS. I really can't deal with this sloppy ass troll trying to throw slangs at anyone, though.

I think he looks good, just that particular photo shoot I guess was supposed to have a certain look to it. I don't understand why everyone assumed he left because Luke was going to come out. It was easy for me to accept that he wanted to focus on finishing high school and playing music.

I always thought it was odd that ADW was such a big hit because that success really isn't talked about much today. There are other shows that fall into that category, too.

Please tell me that is NOT Bo Hopkins!! My god!! I actually thought he was somewhat attractive. I liked him a lot in the Charlie's Angels pilot movie. I think all of the women look good. PB's forehead is out of this world, but she looks good. KK looks great for someone who stayed out of the limelight. The men...well damn. Be glad Nader isn't there.

I'm on season 5 as well. I finished 4 about two months ago and was totally ready for 5, but I can't find it amongst all of my DVDs. I'm starting to think I never bought it.

Yeah, I'm with you on these. If they want to do profiles on popular things, they should just package it as a different series. The thing about Unsung was always that it was about people that "we" knew but only had fleeting encounters with household name status. I love me some Fred, but you can buy a Redd Foxx shirt at Hot Topic. His song has been sung.

I feel like certain people behind the scenes at EE want to embrace a reputation of darkness and violence, and while that grittiness has been a huge part of the show's success and appeal, without the warmth and comedy to balance that, it just makes for a huge depressing mess. The show's been gutted so much in the last few years, I'm not sure if it'll even feel like EastEnders if I tuned in now.

The show had such a solid set of young male actors circa 2010. Jay, Tamwar, Darren, and Peter were all entertaining characters, and I guess Tam is still on the show? They took a huge blow when Charlie Hawkins left and to a lesser extent when Thomas Law left, but they've done very little to rebuild since then, and that's annoying. That creepy Ben recast was horrible. What were the general feelings on the newer Peter? I'm glad Fatboybus still around but I agree with whoever said that his best storyline was with Mercy years ago.

Thank you so much for posting those! I haven't watched a whole episode in years, so I'm interested to see how Jay's changed. He was a dirty little sh!t just a few years ago, but JB has always been a good actor. They've been pretty consistent with the general look of the Ben character over the years. Charlie Jones should be proud of himself wherever he is. He basically set the standard.

This actually sounds very fascinating, and if I believed EE was doing it on purpose, I'd totally tune in for it.

A beautiful tribute, Carl. I fell out of watching the 70s episodes a few months ago because of work, but I think I'll get back into it. Deirdre and Ray were a highlight of those years.

I've never been particularly fond of Deirdre, but damn, this is a massive blow to the show's legacy. It really makes me sad.
