Totally never knew this little tidbit about how the show came up with the name for Spike's baby, who we all know as Emma. ... In 1987 Degrassi Junior High won an International Emmy in the Children and Young People category for the episode "It's Late", where Christine "Spike" Nelson gets pregnant at the party believing she is ready to have sex with the new kid, Shane. Spike's baby was named Emma, to commemorate the award, and Emma wound up being the inspiration for the spin-off series, Degrassi: The Next Generation.

So, could it be Jacqui that Rhys will be getting with? From new spoiler(s), it looks like that may be the case. Other than Heidi, I am just not feeling the Costello family at all. I pray the O'Connor's are a better effort.

I wasn't aware of Phil's slap, so when it happened, my jaw was on the floor. But again, I don't like Steve McFadden. He swirls around too much. It's bothersome.

Speaking of Mitchells. I am going to have a very tough time watching Phil in a lead story. I really don't find him to be a good actor at all.

Well, that was one funeral you probably wouldn't see on any other soap. It was nice to see Laurel and especially Brenda say something in honour of Shadrach and the end with Zach was a very nice touch.

It is a shame this isn't a soap opera theme.

Today's opening had me fearing I accidentally downloaded an episode from last year or something. It was a nice touch, though. What does Gilly do for a living?

Ste had a baby kidnapping plot? LoL I bet the only reason they cast him as Riley is because he looks so identical to Max, and has a six pack. Sadly, he still isn't even that attractive. Where have all the hot blokes gone? The alien kid seems like a better actor than Seth Costello, who, though he is cute, is very bland. But hey, I guess that makes it easier to believe he's Jem's brother. If this Jasmine girl can't act, I will call the Costello's a major fail. I am really disliking all these exits and how they are written. It almost seems like check off system is being used. 1) Archie, check. 2) Newt, check ... Who's next? Oh, okay, um .... check!

The show has been pretty good this week. Of course, and maybe this is because of the drivel I've watched on the US soaps, all the episodes since I've started to watch have pleased me in one way or another. That Cain/Ryan scene was one of those things I didn't even think about as I was watching. That was a great way to tie the two stories together. It's so rare for Cain to have any sort of friend, so his relationship with Ryan is very intriguing to me. And Katie ... man, that bitch just stayed and stayed AND STAYED! This may be weird, but I also found it odd that she still refers to herself as a Sugden. How long ago did they divorce? If they squander more potential for Victoria to actually do something, I will be thoroughly pissed. Why does the show hate this character? As for Charnock, he can get a bit annoying at times, but when it comes to bringing the drama, he delivers. I thought he was great when I watched Tricia's death and the fight with Zak brought some good heartache into the episode. With all the hot men, why the hell doesn't this show do a calender? Hell, at least write in some sort of bachelor auction thingy.
