The crew wears masks and shields but I’ve seen very little of the women in masks. Also a few restaurant get togethers that they’ve documented. Two of which featured a black woman that people think may be testing to be a housewife. In light of OC going in a cast trip, I wonder if Dallas will still go on one, but just go to Katy’s house in Mexico. Either that or renting a house somewhere state side and taking a private jet. I just assumed they wouldn’t have any trips at all, but if OC is doing it I’m sure others will as well. In other news, Sheree has COVID-19. Lastly, Peacock has announced that their Housewives spin off is called “Housewives Mash Up.” Filming is on hold due to Covid, but it sounds like a Real Housewives All Stars type of show from the name.

@Vizion This is well known in the soap world, they just no longer care. I had mentioned earlier in this thread how a CBS report had leaked when Shemar left showing that the show lost 1-2 million viewers based on his exit. Once they realized that they introduced lots of new black characters and brought back Dru and Lily. Of course when they did this they also gave them story. Things like this Is why I support VR so much and get so frustrated. It’s not just us liking these characters, these characters are HUGELY popular and this audience has been so loyal they deserve better. Mishael Morgan was the first black actress they struck gold with since VR left. The chemistry with Bryton was first class, but they still let her go. That’s insane considering the popularity. I also maintain Loren Lott was on her way to that level of success had they given her a chance. Soaps are dying and they’d rather die than simply give their audience, which is largely black, representation. That is insane.

Wrong. When Maria Arena Bell tried to bring her back, they wanted her to stop posting about diversity in order for it to happen. She refused so the return was canceled. She’s never been willing to return without real change.

When she first came on they did attempt that but it was embarrassingly bad. Her outfits were also over the top, but you could tell they were in over their heads. They couldn’t dress that girls figure, couldn’t do her makeup. It was just a damn mess. I liked her better when she returned for Neil’s funeral.

I have enjoyed this season, but the cast needs a touch up for the following season to work. They need to cast a friend of Garcelle and I would dump Erika and Teddi. I would say Kyle, but that’s not gonna happen. I’d finally bring back Camille and keep Sutton. That would be a great cast.

I wish they would just release the doc for streaming since with COVID they can’t do an in person thing. Maybe it’ll be on Peacock. I really wanna see what they came up with.

So no Garcelle or Denise on the after show? Sounds boring and one sided so I'll pass on that.

Kathryn is my favorite type of housewife. A total unknown, a kind person but someone who isn’t afraid to express her opinions. She also had a great husband and just fit. She was gorgeous and felt like money without trying. I hate she didn’t get another year. I have no clue what Erika’s story will be next season when she can’t fake tour or release music.

I’m finally knee deep into the final season. First I’ll say that Ann Marcus is a genius. I still wonder what her original script for Back to the Cul De Sac was like because she had such a strong understanding of these characters. In season 13 the change when she joined was instant. She refocused these characters and started telling stories that respected their history. The show now had the momentum they wanted the first half when it was more plot driven. With season 14 the only thing I didn’t like was Val’s exit. Without Lucy I feel you shouldn’t have considered killing her off. Either have Val leave to go visit Lucy OR bring Lucy back (in Vanessa’s place?) so Gary can have her to help him grieve. Without her the story feels incomplete and Gary is on an island by himself. Beyond that, this season is so tightly paced and the refreshed look is fresh and the show still looks expensive. We know due to budget they were limited with how many episodes each actor got, but you never feel it watching the show. Adding supporting characters like Nick, Mary and Vanessa helps and like any good newbie, they all are there to support the main cast. I also feel that Anne having money and marrying Greg is a great pay off after her years of scheming and ending up on the streets. Her character has shown tremendous growth and this is the type of payoff you deserve when a show ends. Claudia is also more interesting as an assertive businesswoman with a boy toy. Putting her in charge of Sumner Group gave her the agency she needed To truly be interesting. I feel Knots, Falcon Crest and Dynasty all had good final seasons, but Knots was a step above the rest. If money wasn’t a factor it’s obvious this show could’ve continued for YEARS! It’s always nice when a show ends on their own terms and that’s what they did.

New York is full of bizarre decisions. Looking back at season 4, that would be considered a blockbuster season in terms of modern housewives, but we deemed Too dark. Jill and Countess Luann would’ve gotten HUGE raises for the same behavior now. Dorinda has always been very dark and hateful but somehow gets a pass. This is the first season she truly is being taken to task by fans and the other wives.

This was interesting! Luann tried to get Jill for the second half of the season since Tinsley had left. Jill was leaving for the winter so she could only film the Halloween party and Birkshires, but Dorinda put a stop to that! I wonder if Dorinda worried that Jill would end up filming the rest of the season and maybe she felt threatened for her spot next year. It’s a shame it didn’t work out though. It would’ve been nice to see Jill for 2-3 episodes straight.

Dorinda was in her house and Ramona was in the house she rented in Florida so both has the space to produce something better. It seems as if they didn’t have mice which is the issue. I just don’t understand how they allowed such a raggedy product. Like y’all said, youtubers do a better job. Literally all you need is a damn camera and a mic. I remember at one point Samsung did a promo where Watch What Happens Live was filmed with one of their phones. You couldn’t even tell the difference so the phones aren’t the problem, it’s the mics.

I wonder if the others will come off as bad as the NY ones, but they do have an awful production company so this doesn’t totally surprise me. I also agree that Elyse should’ve gotten an Apple. It seems like she’s stepping it up and honestly she’s one of the only things I find interesting about the show. I’m surprised she didn’t make their Mexico trip considering she’s always around.

Omg Camille destroyed Brandi! Remind me how she wasn’t invited back after carrying last season? Truly baffling.

Potomac has such a beautiful intro and the tag lines are good once again! I’m excited for another good season. They always seem to get better so I’m excited! On the flip side, I’m *still* trying to make Dallas work. I binged 3 episodes of season 3 getting me to episode 8 and this season is zzzzz for me. I’m excited to get to season four in hopes that Kary’s addition brings something fresh because I’m so sick of the current bunch. We’re midway into the season and Kameron is crying about Brandi chasing her with a dildo in season two?! Girl bye! I hope the two newbies are enough to save their 5th season. In other news, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City filmed their cast photo/intro yesterday. There are 5 rumored wives with a sixth who will be a Friend. I hope in the end they go with 6 wives because the Friend is black and it would look good for them to have two non-white housewives in today’s climate. Especially since the early complaints about Salt Lake were that it will likely be all white. Also, the black potential housewife Mary is rumored to be at the center of drama. She’s married to her grandmothers husband who is the Pastor for a mega church.

I wonder if the new timelines are due to the break. Maybe RHOBH will get the same. Also, after hosting Critics Choice Awards, Nene also has a new reality competition show on E! So does Heather Dubrow.

Two underrated recasts for me come from Ryan’s Hope, which was Recast Central. The first is Mary Carney as Mary Ryan. Of course Claire Labine wanted To kill off Mary when Kate Mulgrew left, which is completely understandable. Ultimately the show forced a recast and Mary Carney was perfect. A good actress and similar but she made the role her own. They quickly fired her and the only justifiable reason is that they were still upset about Mulgrew leaving. We had to suffer through two more recasts before they finally killed her off. The other is Ann Gillespie as Siobhan Ryan. I liked most of the Siobhan’s so I didn’t mind her leaving, but I also don’t understand why she left. I thought she was great in the role.

I’m completely disgusted by Y&R’s Best Show Emmy won last night. They submitted the Kristoff St. John memorial episodes, which were excellent and featured a mostly black cast leading story. These actors are good enough for Emmy bait, but not good enough to lead story? After Kristoff’s memorial they all went off screen or to the back burner. They should’ve submitted episodes with the mostly white cast who actually got screentime.

@Cat Yes the first season aired Saturday’s at noon and got good ratings which lead to them moving to primetime. For season 3 they even brought Janet, Chyka and Jackie over time do promo. They did Watch What Happens Live and Today show. That’s why I’m so shocked they just gave up on it. Literally they just had one season left to go lol.

While technically true, I still don’t understand why they didn’t air the fourth season on Bravo. Season one did well enough to be moved to primetime and seasons 2 and 3 typically got around 500,000 viewers airing in a Friday with no promo. For an import that’s pretty good. Hell that’s what Dallas gets lol.

She was in New York for business when she was in discussions to join the show. It didn’t work out and she went to the UK. I believe she mentioned talking to them about Ladies of London, but she ended up moving to Spain. I did love her feud with Luann though lol.

July 8th! Rumor has it 5 women are testing for RHOA, one being Monique. If she got on she’d be the first Academy Award winner lol. I can’t imagine how that would be.

Just to bring this back, you have a black actor speaking up but notice this was largely ignored. I don’t think any of his white cast members retweeted this. Lamon Archey at least has white cast members willing to openly support him, but overall this is the problem with black actors speaking out. The press ignores it and so so their costars so they’re left on an island by themselves. Especially in light of the overall Black Lives Matter movement I wish these casts would rally around their black cast members. Like Lamon said, yes you have 3 black characters (in supporting roles), but you need more to tell a story. GH gives their black characters good screentime, but the characters are all talk to’s. Maya was one of the most successful new characters on B&B and now her entire family is gone. Y&R is not even worth mentioning, but my point stands. NONE of these soaps can say they’re proud of their black storylines and all need to do better.

Nobody on New York would be intimidated by Tamra and therefore it wouldn’t work. They would tear her a new one. She wouldn’t be able to take it lol. Only franchise she MIGHT survive is Beverly Hills.
