ARTICLE: Kristin Matthews Exits ‘The Talk’ Ahead of Season 14; ‘The Late Late Show’ EP Rob Crabbe Named Showrunner
Although “The Talk” has not been formally renewed for a 14th season by CBS, the network announced last week that executive producer Kristin Matthews is departing the daytime talk show and will be replaced by Rob Crabbe, who most recently served as the executive producer of “The Late Late Show with James Corden.” Part of the original staff for “The Talk” when it launched in October 2010, starting out as a coordinating producer, before coming the show’s co-executive producer starting with Season 3. She was later elevated to executive producer and showrunner in September 2020 alongside Heather Gray, who sadly passed away in 2022 of an “unforgiving disease.” The two replaced John Redmann, who had been the show’s executive producer since its 2010 launch. During her tenure, Matthews earned two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Talk Show Entertainment in 2016 and 2018, respectively. Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Sheryl Underwood, Jerry O’Connell, Natalie Morales (“The Talk”) Photo by Sonja Flemming/CBS “After 13 years, the time was right for me to make a change and I won’t be returning next season,” said Matthews in a statement released to Deadline. “I helped launch ‘The Talk’ in 2010 and I am so proud of all that we have accomplished with the show over the past 13 seasons. We have worked together to achieve so much success, laughter, ratings, Emmys, love and tears — everything you can experience producing over 2,500 episodes. I’m truly grateful to the incredible team I’ve had the opportunity to lead as well as all the outstanding staff, crew and hosts I’ve worked with during my time on the show.” “Kristin Matthews’ significant contributions have been pivotal to the success of ‘The Talk’ since the show launched 13 seasons ago. She has been a trusted leader, collaborator and creative talent who has helped make the show an award-winning series on CBS’ top rated daytime lineup. We’ll be forever grateful to her,” said Amy Reisenbach, President, CBS Entertainment and David Stapf, President, CBS Studios, in a joint statement released to Deadline. “The Late Late Show with James Corden” (Key Art) Courtesy of CBS Crabbe, who executive produced “The Late Late Show” during its entire eight-year run with host James Corden, is segueing into daytime talk for the first time and keeps the in-demand producer within the CBS family for the foreseeable future. During his time at the late-night talk show, which ended its run in April, Crabbe received numerous Primetime Emmy nominations and helped create the popular “Carpool Karaoke” segment that later became a spinoff series for Apple TV+, among other projects. “I’ve loved my experience working with CBS these past 8 years, and am thrilled and honored that George [Cheeks, President and CEO, CBS and Chief Content Officer, News and Sports, Paramount+], Amy and David have trusted me with their signature daytime talk show,” said Crabbe. “I’m excited by the opportunity to help bring some joy and thoughtful conversation to viewers with these five incredibly talented hosts.” “Rob Crabbe is a highly respected, award-winning executive producer, and a valued member of the CBS family,” said Reisenbach and Stapf, again in a joint statement. “His ability to produce culturally relevant content and engaging conversations that extend beyond the television screen makes him the perfect person to lead ‘The Talk.’ We’re thrilled to continue our relationship with Rob as the showrunner of a key program on CBS’ #1 daytime lineup.” Since May, “The Talk” has been airing reruns due to the ongoing WGA strike, which has impacted television and film production across the United States, particularly in New York and Los Angeles. Reportedly the show’s staff includes striking writers and that likely put a dent in the show’s production plans. “The Talk” is hosted by Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Jerry O’Connell, Natalie Morales and Sheryl Underwood. There are no reports of any on-camera changes for Season 14. In March, “The Talk” scored its largest overall audience in more than a year during the week of March 20-24, 2023, spearheaded by a week of show’s featuring cast members from “The Young and the Restless” which is celebrating 50 years on television. ARTICLE: Haley Pullos Formally Charged with Two Felonies and a Misdemeanor Following Near-Fatal Crash
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has officially charged “General Hospital” actress Haley Pullos with two felonies and one misdemeanor stemming from her April 29, 2023 arrest, a result of a near-fatal DUI car crash. According to TMZ, charges against Pullos include one felony count of DUI causing injury, one felony count of driving with a .08 BAC (blood alcohol concentration) or higher, and one misdemeanor count of hit-and-run. Pullos pleaded not guilty to the charges and a preliminary hearing has been set for later this month. Just before 1:30 a.m. PDT on Saturday, April 29, Pullos allegedly drove her vehicle the wrong way on the 134 freeway before colliding head-on with a 23-year-old male driver of a Kia who suffered major injuries and rushed to an area hospital. Pullos herself required help from the Pasadena Fire Department who used the jaws of life to extract her from the wrecked 2019 Ford she was driving. Last month, it was announced that a man named Courtney Wilder is suing Pullos, alleging it’s her fault he went to the hospital after he tried to swerve his vehicle to avoid hers. Pullos was allegedly driving the wrong way on a Pasadena freeway offramp when she collided with another vehicle that was going 60 mph. Pullos was said to have been unable to exit her vehicle and required help from firefighters before being transported by ambulance to the hospital. Allegedly, while evaluating her injuries during transport, Pullos struck a firefighter and shouted, “This is a $400 f***ing shirt!” In his lawsuit, Wilder notes that Pullos cared more about an “overpriced shirt” than the “safety and well-being of the crash victims.” Pictures from the accident were shared online by the Pasadena Fire Department, which noted, “Pasadena Fire units responded to a traffic collision requiring rescue at the 134 Freeway/Orange Grove exit early this morning. Arriving units found two vehicles involved, with one person trapped, after a reported head-on collision. Fire personnel extricated one person from a vehicle and provided patient care and hospital transport for the occupants of both vehicles.” In its post, PFD reminded drivers to “stay within the speed limit, avoid drinking and driving and never be distracted by passengers, phones, etc.” In May, The Daily Mail reported Pullos had entered a Malibu Detox and residential treatment facility that boasts several alcohol and drug addiction treatments for patients. Pullos took an immediate leave of absence from “General Hospital” as a result of her ongoing legal troubles, albeit none of which became public until May 17, 2023, when TMZ broke the news of her alleged involvement in the crash. Newcomer Holiday Mia Kriegel ( “Bull,” “Animal Kingdom”) took over the role of Molly Lansing-Davis, at least on a temporary basis, beginning with the Thursday, May 25 episode of the daytime drama series. TVLine recently reported that Kriegel’s time on the show has been extended at least through the summer. On Monday, June 26, “The Price is Right” aired its final episode taped at the historic Bob Barker Studio 33 in Television City. Along with host Drew Carey and announcer George Gray, all six of the show’s models appeared, including Rachel Reynolds, Manuela Arbeláez, Amber Lancaster, Alexis Gaube, James O’Halloran and Devin Goda. Bob Barker Studio, or Studio 33, was dedicated to the show’s original host, Bob Barker, on March 11, 1998, in honor of the show’s 5000th episode. The studio was also the home to such classic shows as “The Carol Burnett Show,” “The Jack Benny Program,” “The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour” and many more. Due to construction/renovations scheduled to take place at TVC under new owner Hackman Capital Partners over the next few years, “The Price is Right” vacated its longtime studio home and will tape at Haven Studios for the foreseeable future. The new studio is centrally located in Los Angeles, adjacent to Glendale. Rachel Reynolds, George Gray, Amber Lancaster, Manuela Arbelaez, Devin Goda, Alexis Gaube and James O’Halloran (“The Price is Right”) Photo by Sonja Flemming/CBS “In light of Hackman Capital Partners’ plans to undergo a major renovation at Television City, the time has come to move television’s longest-running game show, The Price Is Right, into a new home,” said Suzanne Lopez, COO of Fremantle, owner of “The Price is Right” in announcing the show’s move to the new studio earlier this year. “While we bid a fond farewell to this cultural landmark, we are excited to say that we will be moving into a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility at Haven Studios. We can’t wait to have our fans ‘Come On Down’ to this new facility when we begin production on the next season this summer.” For a sneak peek at the new studio, visit haventv.com. ARTICLE: Eileen Davidson’s Twitter Account Hacked
UPDATED: Less than a week after the Twitter account belonging to “General Hospital” star Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) was hacked comes word that another soap star’s Twitter account was also hacked. This time, it’s Eileen Davidson who plays Ashley Abbott on “The Young and the Restless.” Unlike Grahn’s hacked account (now back in her control), which depicted racist, anti-government and pro-Trump rhetoric, Davidson’s hacked account displayed tweets promoting the sale of electronics, as noted in a tweet by the official Twitter account for “The Young and the Restless,” which alerted fans of the matter. “PSA! Eileen Davidson’s Twitter has been hacked. We are working to resolve issue. In the meantime, the account is NOT her own and she is not moonlighting selling Electronics!!” read a tweet by the @YRInsider handle on Saturday, June 24 at 5:50 p.m. EDT, the earliest known reporting of the hacking. The hack seemingly took place on Friday, June 23, based on screenshots taken by Soap Opera Network of at least two known tweets posted to Davidson’s account. “Hello Twitter family ! I have a special promotion going on ! I have 10 2023 MacBook Pro’s on sale for $600 each ! On top of that I will be signing every MacBook that is sold , also free shipping is included ! All proceeds will be going to charity ! My DMs are opened ! Thank you,” read the first tweet, which clearly tried to fool fans of the actress into taking part in a scam. A follow-up tweet said, “Only 4 more MacBooks left $600 each , we are at the final leg ! I appreciate everyone’s who bought a MacBook ! Remember if you buy 2 at a time I’ll let it go for $500 each.” At press time, Davidson’s Twitter account was in private mode and tweets could only be seen by those who were already followers prior to the mode change. Additionally, the two tweets posted by the hacker have since been deleted, with the most current tweet published on June 15, wherein Davidson herself said, “Thank you for all the incredible birthday wishes! I’m so grateful. It’s been a lovely lovely day!” Davidson’s birthday is June 15. While Grahn eventually regained access to her Twitter account @NancyLeeGrahn) the same day of the hack, it’s unknown whether the tweets made by the Davidson hacker being deleted indicate the actress is back in control of her account. Also, despite having a blue check mark next to her name, which once removed any doubt about the validity of a verified Twitter user account pre-Musk era, it’s unclear whether the mark was there prior to the hack or only after the hack. A tweet published on Davidson’s account (still in private mode) at 10:02 p.m. EDT on June 26 said, “Sorry to say I was hacked last week. I’m so sorry if you sent money to these a**holes.” This post will be updated once it’s confirmed Davidson does in fact have her account back in her control. ARTICLE: ‘Magnum P.I.’ Canceled — No Season 6 for NBC Drama
Despite a move to NBC for the show’s fifth season, “Magnum P.I.” has been canceled and will not be back for a sixth season, Deadline reports. According to the outlet, the network opted against ordering additional episodes of the series beyond the 20-episode fifth season it picked up last year. Upon the show’s launch as a midseason replacement, NBC aired only the first ten episodes while deciding to hold the remaining ten for the 2023-2024 season due to many factors, one of which can be attributed to the ongoing WGA strike. Cast options on the Jay Hernandez-led series are said to be expiring on June 30, which is why a decision on the fate of the series had to be made immediately. “NBC had three scenarios, to pick up a sixth season, to extend the options on the cast or to release the actors and end the series,” said Deadline in its reporting. “Networks have been very conservative with pickups amid the writers strike as it’s unclear when scripted series could go into production, so an early renewal appeared unlikely.” A modern take on the classic series of the same name, “Magnum P.I.” centers on Thomas Magnum (Hernandez), a decorated former Navy SEAL who, upon returning home from Afghanistan, repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator. A charming rogue, an American hero and a die-hard Detroit Tigers fan, Magnum lives in a guest cottage on Robin’s Nest, the luxurious estate where he works as a security consultant to supplement his P.I. business. Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks (“Magnum P.I.”) Photo by Zack Dougan/NBC A co-production between CBS Studios and Universal Television, “Magnum P.I.” was canceled by CBS after four seasons. At the time, then CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl said of the cancellation, “You have some tough decisions to make and you have lots of factors — and I’m not going to rule [the licensing fee] out as one of them. It was a great team to work with, and one of the tougher decisions we had to make.” Seeing as its co-producers couldn’t make it financially feasible to continue the series, fans shouldn’t expect a last-minute reprieve from a streamer like Netflix, especially when you consider current season episodes stream on Peacock while the first four seasons were at one time available on Paramount+. Ratings for Season 5 episodes of “Magnum P.I.” were reportedly on par with some of the shows already renewed by NBC for next season. In addition to Hernandez, the series starred Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill, Amy Hill, and Tim Kang. Eric Guggenheim, John Davis, Justin Lin, John Fox, Barbie Kligman, David Wolkove and Gene Hong executive produced the series. CBS Studios produces in association with Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. Check out the Season 5 trailer below. ARTICLE: Sal Stowers Back to ‘Days of our Lives’
On the Monday, June 19 episode of “Days of our Lives,” Eli (Lamon Archey) returned to Salem and immediately surrounded himself with family, including Paulina (Jackée Harry), who is reeling with wonder about her missing husband, Abe (James Reynolds). Eli also spent time with his grandmother Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and her husband Doug (Bill Hayes), while also sharing updates on his wife Lani, who he revealed would be eligible for parole in about six months. “She’ll be eligible for parole in six months, so hopefully, she’ll be home by Christmas,” he told the couple. Well, it turns out, she’ll be home even sooner than that. Independence Day is an annual holiday celebrated in the United States, and Lani Price will also gain her independence when Sal Stowers reprises the role beginning Tuesday, July 4. Although with this being “Days of our Lives,” one can only wonder if this is the true Lani being released, or just a fake wearing a mask pretending to be her, considering who she ends up interacting with upon her return to Salem. Either way, the timing of Lani’s release makes perfect sense since not only will she be able to celebrate her release while surrounded by family and friends, but she’ll also be able to enjoy her and Eli’s anniversary. Lamon Archey, Sal Stowers (“Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem”) Photo by Evans Vestal Ward/Peacock In 2020, Eli and Lani became the first ever Black couple to be married onscreen on “Days of our Lives” – the show had been on the air for 54 years at the time. ARTICLE: Kristina Wagner Reveals Her Mother, Carolyn, Passed Away on Father’s Day
Our hearts go out to “General Hospital” star Kristina Wagner (Felicia Scorpio), who announced earlier this week that her beloved mother, Carolyn, has passed away. She died on Father’s Day (Sunday, June 18, 2023) at the age of 89. In a post on Twitter, Wagner said, “My mother passed away on Father’s Day this year to be with her husband, my Dad. Weren’t Carolyn and Leonard a charming couple? Reunited at last.” She used the hashtags “Together Forever,” “Radiant Joy” and “True Love.” She also included the “Couple with Heart” and “Glowing Star” emojis. Last June, Wagner and her ex-husband, Jack (ex-Frisco Jones, “General Hospital”), mourned the loss of their son, Harrison. They even established a scholarship fund to honor his memory. On the anniversary of his death, Kristina shared a video of Harrison from a prior hiking on the Araby Trail. She said in the Instagram post, “We shot this video on Araby Trail and here I am posting it on the first anniversary of Harrison’s death.” She added, “His words are comforting to me. It’s brutally painful to loose my boy. I still believe in open mindedness, happiness, and love and I still have hope for wishes come true. Thank you Harrison.” Note: The post Kristina Wagner Reveals Her Mother, Carolyn, Passed Away on Father’s Day appeared first on the Soap Opera Network website. Read More

YR Promo: Summer/Kyle/Audra
Not condoning what Summer did, but if you can jump into bed with another woman like Kyle does with Audra, do you truly love your wife? I don't know what message the soaps try to give when they show spouses cheating so easily and freely, but it's not a good one. It tells me that marriage is a joke and telling the world how much you love each other is a lie. What a waste of time marriage is. Explains why it's in decline in several countries, especially the U.S., along with birthrates. Again, not worth it.

Days: June 2023 Discussion Thread
Where did this Dena Higley stuff come from? I'm not talking about her, and what I'm talking about hasn't been discussed before. So, it's 0% related to anything discussed in this thread or externally. I said something similar to Albert and Mike, the CFO taking over as "PR" on Monday. In my email, I commented on the PR move and the messy way Peacock has handled things with the sudden move to streaming only, based on the lack of discussion online about the show since the move and how certain popular DAYS destinations are dead or dying, or awaiting their "burial space." Two snippets I wrote: "It tells me your show is barely hanging itself together and that you’re just riding the most recent renewal until everything collapses." "I don’t know what else to think but that the show is veering towards its end."

ARTICLE: ‘The Price is Right’ Says Goodbye to Bob Barker Studio 33 at Television City in Season 51 Finale
On Monday, June 26, “The Price is Right” wraps its 51st season, and it also marks the final time viewers will hear the famous phrase, “Come on Down!” in an episode taped at the historic Bob Barker Studio 33 in Television City, located in Hollywood. To commemorate the landmark episode, lucky contestants will play classic “Price is Right” games, including the “Grand Game,” which this time only is offering up to $33,000 (usually played for $10,000), and fan-favorite, “The Money Game.” Plus, one fortunate contestant gets a chance to play the very first game ever played on “The Price is Right” in 1972. Along with host Drew Carey and announcer George Gray, all six of the show’s models appear, including Rachel Reynolds, Manuela Arbeláez, Amber Lancaster, Alexis Gaube, James O’Halloran and Devin Goda. Manuela Arbelaez, Rachel Reynolds, Devin Goda, Amber Lancaster, Alexis Gaube and Jams O’Halloran (“The Price is Right”) Photo by Sonja Flemming/CBS Bob Barker Studio, or Studio 33, was dedicated to the show’s original host, Bob Barker, on March 11, 1998. The studio was the home to such classic shows as “The Carol Burnett Show,” “The Jack Benny Program,” “The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour” and many more. Beginning in September, Season 52 sees the show spinning the “Big Wheel” east, moving into a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility at Haven Studios in Glendale, CA. The reason for the move is the result of massive construction/renovations scheduled to take place at TVC over the next few years, which will also soon impact the likes of “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless,” along with several other popular primetime and cable television shows that have taped at Television City for years. ARTICLE: Primetime Broadcast Ratings: NBA Finals (Game 5), ‘America’s Got Talent,’ ’20/20′ and ‘FBI’ Reruns on Top
During the week of June 12-18, 2023, the six broadcast networks aired just 29 programs combined in primetime featuring original content, led by ABC’s airing of Game 5 of the NBA Finals (13.084 million) — Nuggets beat the Heat (94-89) to win the series. In second place, “America’s Got Talent” (5.963 million) topped the list among regularly scheduled programs. It was followed by ABC’s NBA Countdown (Pre-Game), which ranked third for the week with 4.364 million viewers. Rounding out the Top 5 were repeats of “60 Minutes” (4.347 million) and original recipe “FBI” (3.370 million). ABC’s “20/20” (3.289 million) managed to rank sixth. “The Wonder Years,” the only original scripted series to premiere so far this summer, managed to attract 2.094 million viewers, ranking 42nd for the week out of 110 shows. A slew of CW shows once again lost to ION programming, which primarily consists of rebroadcasts of popular procedural dramas like “Blue Bloods,” “Chicago Fire” and “Law & Order: SVU.” Among Adults 18-49, “WWE Smackdown” (2.430 million) topped the weekly chart among regularly scheduled programming with a 0.7 rating. It was followed by the aforementioned “America’s Got Talent,” which pulled in a 0.6 rating in the all-important sales demographic. Two airings of “US Open Golf” on NBC tied for fifth place with a 0.4 rating, along with a rerun of CBS’ “The Neighborhood” (3.270 million) and multiple repeat airings of ABC’s “Celebrity Family Feud.” What follows is a look at how the primetime broadcast shows performed during the week of June 12-18, 2023 in Total Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-49 Viewers. ARTICLE: ‘The Young and the Restless’ Alum Doug Davidson Remembers Former Co-Star, the Late Brett Hadley
Since news on the passing of beloved actor Brett Hadley (ex-Carl Williams, “The Young and the Restless”) came to light, many of his former co-stars have commented on their time working with him, including Beth Maitland (Traci), Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren) and Lauralee Bell (Christine), among others. We can also add Hadley’s former onscreen son, Doug Davidson (ex-Paul Williams), to the list. Brett Hadley Courtesy of CBS via Everett Collection In a series of posts on Twitter, Davidson talked about Hadley, saying in one post, “He was amazing.” In another, he said, “Will miss him greatly.” He also stated, “He was quite a guy. So much fun to work with.” He later commented, “It’s always so sad, but he lived a long full life. God bless him.” Davidson also shared a black and white photo of himself and Hadley from their days working together. In the caption, he said, “God Bless you, Brett.” Check out the picture below. Hadley died on Wednesday, June 14 of sepsis at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, his friend of 30 years, Darcy Lee, told The Hollywood Reporter. Doug Davidson, Leslie Beavis, Brett Hadley in a scene from “The Young and the Restless” that aired January 7, 1999 Photo by John Paschal/JPI Studios From 1980-1990, and again from 1998-1999, Hadley portrayed detective Carl Williams on “The Young and the Restless.” In an unrelated post, Davidson received a message from a fan who said they miss seeing him on the show. In response to the comment, the actor said, “Thanks, but I had wonderful memories there, the show I know with Bill Bell was incredible for me. Only good vibes.” In 2021, Davidson said of his continued absence from the show, “It’s the state of television. I find it remarkable that after 42.5 years I haven’t heard from the network at all. No thank you for your service, a phone call. Many gifts from the first 25 years…not a peep from this group,” He added, “I don’t think it’s personal. New era. Still grateful.” Winning the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2013 for his portrayal of Paul Williams, Genoa City’s chief of police, Davidson joined “The Young and the Restless” in May 1978 and remains listed as the show’s longest-running “current” cast member. ARTICLE: ‘Days of our Lives’ Star Kyle Lowder Joins TV Affiliate KTVN in Reno, Nevada as Morning News Co-Anchor
Congratulations are in order for “Days of our Lives” actor Kyle Lowder (Rex Brady), who just announced he has joined KTVN, a CBS affiliate based in Reno, Nevada, as their new morning co-anchor. “The ink is dry and it’s official. I couldn’t be happier to announce the next chapter/adventure in my life, both personally and professionally,” Lowder said in a post on Instagram, which included a picture of himself signing the contract. “Starting in July I will be joining news leader and CBS affiliate @ktvn_reno as their new morning co-anchor. Truly grateful and thrilled to be a part of the beautiful Reno-Tahoe community. Details forthcoming, stay tuned…” KTVN and its morning show, “2 News This Morning,” features live reports and up-to-the-minute coverage of the latest news, weather and sports from around Northern Nevada, Tahoe and Eastern Sierra regions, and around the world. The Tahoe area also happens to be where Lowder’s ex-wife, Arianne Zucker, resides with their daughter when she’s not taping episodes for “Days of our Lives,” where she appears as Nicole Walker, in Los Angeles, reports Soaps In Depth. In recent weeks, Lowder had been teasing a big change in his life, sharing photos of himself taking in the beautiful snowy mountain views in at least two shots posted to Instagram. In another post, he highlighted his first day in L.A. in the year 2000 and his final day in the area in 2023, saying, “Leaving LA. Movin to the mountains, and a really big lake;) 23 years, what a ride. Been up, down, and everywhere in between. Grateful for it all. But as I always say, it’s not ‘goodbye’, just ‘until next next time.’” With his move to become a morning news co-anchor, don’t expect Lowder to be popping in as much on “Days of our Lives” going forward, but as Lowder pointed out, that’s not to say “‘goodbye’, just ‘until next time.’” Check out Lowder’s posts from his new home below.
