I caught the tail-end of it, but is Patrick going to be exposed to HIV via cutting himself in the OR while working on a patient with AIDS?

As good of a storyline as this will/could be for Patrick and the Scrubs coupling, I thought that if one was exposed to HIV/AIDS, that there is some sort of immediate detoxing(via intensive drug therapy) that could be done that may/may not work to remove the virus from your system, as told in "Laramie Project" by the officer who touched Matthew Sheppard while he was bleeding(because there was speculation of whether or not he had HIV). Is this a myth?

Also, will this be an option that Patrick pursues? I just haven't read or heard anything about this story until now.

Has anyone heard anything else about this storyline?

If someone is exposed to AIDS/HIV and starts an AZT treatment ASAP it can greatly reduce the risk of contracting the virus. However AZT takes a severe toll on your body.
