Members sungrey
Wow. NBC, I repeat: If you're pissed at Days because Corday supposedly had enough of Reilly, DO NOT TAKE IT OUT ON THE SHOW. You're only going to wreck the damn thing more than it's been wrecked already. Now for the plus and minus. The minus is there was so much more story to tell, especially with Steve and Kayla back in Salem. Hello! Brothers?? You had a lot of potential there. Not to mention Matt's a superb actor who can run circles around some of the cast members. The plus? With Missy Reeves leaving, this is a great exit for Jack/Jennifer off the canvas. They can live happily ever after. Ya, it sucks big time how it was handled, but I gotta believe they went back and forth on this one and realized the "best option" (not my words, theirs) was to reunite J/J and send them both off the show. They can always return for special things like holidays, etc.
Members Jane1978
I´m sure this is the end of J/J´s and M/M´s association with DAYS. But I wouldn´t be at all surprised if Matt is hired by another soap and Missy eventually joins that show as well. IMO, this is really bad business decision from Corday. Not just because he is losing third most popular fanbase of the show and youngest supercouple. But the bad media coverage of it and other DAYS actor departures are going totally overshadow any positive changes DAYS will do behind the screen. I don´t understand how the show wants to convince any non watching fan that they are really changing, when their first move very clearly confirms everything is still the same. Of course, I´m sure people like Chelsea, Patrick, Max, Mimi, EJ are perfectly save no matter how little people actually cares about them.
Members DaysGal
I really do feel bad for this fanbase. You've been dealt utter crap for years. Even though Missy was leaving, I was looking forward to seeing Jack make a go of it as a single father. There was much, much more to be written for Jack, especially now that Stephen Nichols is back. But to have a quality actor let go again, I'm not to sure I want to stick around with this show. It appears that the younger set will get to stick around. Sorry, I haven't bonded with them and won't tune in just to watch them.
Members GBB
This is ridiculous and pisses me off to now end. That they would keep "actors" like Fath and Cook and Peck over someone like Matt Ashford, who can ACT and has such amazing chemistry with everyone, especially Steve. There is so much more of their dynamic to tell and I was so looking forward to the adventures of the Johnson brothers. Dammit. Would writing letters do no good at this point?? Members Roman
This is some BUUUUUULLLLLLLL-[!@#$%^&*]! It was probably the pay cut he most likely asked Matt to take, and Matt probably said "Screw this. This is the last straw." But, and excuse my language: WHO CARES WHAT THE [!@#$%^&*] REASON WAS!!! THIS MAN HAS BEEN TREATED LIKE ELEPHANT [!@#$%^&*] THE LAST TWO TIMES HE'S BEEN ON THIS DAMN SHOW!! A former HW who disliked the man so much that he kept killing him off, and a EP and owner who apparently feels showing teens and 20-something actors who have absolutly NO obvious talent whatsoever is more important than keeping actors who can do the [!@#$%^&*] job! I wonder now how many people will revolt and leave Days outright becuase of this. This has really fucked up my morning.
Members darraholic
sigh. Jack had so much possibilities without Jennifer. I was really hoping for a Jack & Billie romance.
Members Roman
And this also. If Joe is returning, KC probably feels he needs to trim salaries. The story also says that they big names have been asked to take a pay cut.
Members Queen_Nubia
This is awful news. But considering their budget was cut again, I am not surprised. However, I hope we can see the four last great supercouples on screen together before J&J leave.
Members gqaresoulmates
This sucks. Matt's a great actor and could have surived without Missy. I for one haven't even felt Jack/Jen as a couple over the last year because of the writing. Jack and Patch are great together. Sucks, we won't even get to see that play out much more. I would have been happy with a Jack/Billy pairing. I always enjoyed them together. Wonder if they will actually kill Jack off and then Jen will be devastated and want to move away? I don't think we'll see them riding off into the sunset. I can see them actually killing Jack off.
Members ksale
Hmm, I don't know. I saw a summary of the article and it implied that J/J leave together. It also said that Billy Warlock is safe. I think it's pretty cruel to keep doing this to the same actor repeatedly. Corday must have a special hatred for Matthew Ashford to keep treating him like a human yo-yo. That said, Jack is a great character with so many faults that a good writer like Hogan Sheffer could've had a field day. I'm not high on a Jack/Billie pairing as I think Billie is dead weight and should be written off, but a new love interest wouldn't be out of the question. I would have rather seen Greta return and be paired with Jack.
Members King
I am not surprised at all. I'm not sure why anyone is. But the plus side is that J&J ride off into the sunset together.
Members sungrey
I think it is a bad move on Days' part, but it's one of those "damned if you do or don't" moves. Some people wouldn't have liked Jack with anyone but Jennifer. Some people would've liked Jack to move on into other stories, especially the Patch/Kayla business. That's what frustrates me most. I'm glad J/J get the happy ending they deserve after all the [!@#$%^&*] they've been handed the last three years (and this [!@#$%^&*] on top of that... lol), but I lament all the untold story that was waiting for Ashford. Members Andre
At least Milstein is writing them out, at least that is what I'm assuming, since she's writing as we speak. She is apparantly very romantic and "epic," so it should be a very worthy goodbye. So sad.
Members irish secra
Honestly, King, I could personally care a rat's ass if J&J are written off together. TPTB did so much damage to their love story over the last couple of years that I would have been happy to accept Jenn leaving town with Frankie (or alone) and Jack starting life over as a single dad. I just wanted to see Matt on our screens as Jack and finally see him handed a story. MA has chemistry with a doorknob and could have made a Jack/Billie or Jack/Sami pairing work. I can honestly say, with the return of Steve and Kayla and the fact that Hogie loves to write complex characters, I am stunned by the show's decision to fire him. There was so much story to tell and Steve/Jack were dynamite. Methinks Hogie can't be happy with the prospect of losing such a complex character from the canvas.
