Members Scotty
Friday, June 23, 2006 Comedy Central Revives 'Futurama' By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC) LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Comedy Central is giving "Futurama" a second life as the cable channel has inked a deal with 20th Century Fox Television to produce at least 13 new episodes of the 1999-2003 animated series. Said installments will air along with the show's off-network run on Comedy Central, set to begin sometime in 2008. Said deal, signed back in October of 2005, is valued at an impressive $400,000 per episode, nearly triple the estimated $10 million Cartoon Network paid for the show back in 2002. It's not clear how much Comedy Central will pay for the new episodes. Series regulars Billy West, Katey Sagal and John DiMaggio and creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen are all expected to return for the new installments.
Members poohbear19
I love Futurama... so disappointed when it was cancelled on Fox, I watch it on Adult Swim when ever I get a chance. So glad new episode will be around soon.
Members Scotty
Me too...but I hate that Futurama will leave Cartoon Network's Adult Swim to go to Comedy Central in 2008. I wonder what will take its place?
