If Star leaves before Rosie comes on, it would be so anti-climactic.

I was watching this show on CNN this weekend, and it mentioned that Rosie wrote a poem about Star Jones on her blog. Here it is:

"Star View"

29 March 2006

there is drama at the view

regis went on yesterday

and said

hey there is an elephant in the living room

no one likes to pretend

as if it were real

there comes a point

where u become complicit

star jones had weight loss surgery

she had part of her stomach bypassed

that is how she lost 1/2 herself

she refuses to say this

which is her right

but we do not have to pretend

we do not know

any fatty will tell u

it is nearly impossible to go

from where she was

to where she is

without medical intervention

dats da fact jack

and it is ok

talk to ur doctor

decide for yourself

if this is the option for u

by all means do it

it is hard to be fat

u get tired

ur knees hurt

people stare at u

think u less then

u feel less then

when i see one of r own

fly away from planet plus

i wave with misty eyes

proud astonished worried

we have a high recidivism rate

we us r tribe

sis and bros we

large

so star shrinks b4 our eyes

we know the truth

but nod as she talks about

pilates and will power

i am sure star jones

beneathe the beyonce bravado

is a scared lil girl

who grew her body big

strong and safe

there is no delete button

in real life

george bush

talking about the success

in iraq

with star like showmanship

he thinking we still believe

what we know is not true

we dont buy it

peace to star jones

every wave hits the shore

:o It's kind of funny, but it sounds like a 6-year-old wrote this crap! Rosie, it's called SPELL CHECK! WTF!

Rosie's blog is...well, interesting! :o

Star has so many enemies. My favourite feud is between her and Conan O'Brien. I remember he did a Star joke when Barbara and Joy were on...he doesn't care! All he has to say is, "Star Jones is in the news today..." and the audience is on the floor laughing b/c they know that he doesn't care b/c she probably hates his guts.

I can appreciate that you think I'm overreacting, Pine Charles, and understand why you might think that. And who knows, perhaps I am, but to answer your questions, 1) Because I'm her audience, I get to care how she writes her blog and 2) In a way, yes, she is forcing others outside her personal friend circle to read her blog due to her celebrity. I might add that I also felt it was my duty to call her out on the ridiculous format because she's deceiving people who aren't educated enough to know the difference in good poetry and bad poetry (or in her case, faux poetry, which looks like a poem, reads like a poem but ain't a poem!) As the U.S. Supreme Court affords anyone the right to offer fair comment on a public personality, I will choose to exercise that right whenever I see someone quoting her blog and calls it a poem. Honestly, it's not a poem. It doesn't mean I want her head for this faux pas (that would be overreacting), but I am currently lobbying for a change to her format, if not a public apology for discrediting legitimate poets everywhere.

    • I don't expect Lois to be the same person she was 25 years ago, but she's definitely lost a lot of what made Lois unique.  It's clear the show doesn't know how to write for her, and the sole purpose of Lois is to hide this Gio secret.  It's a shame she doesn't interact with more of the canvas.  It's a waste of Rena's talents. I like Brook Kerr most of the time.  She can be hit or miss.  I totally get what you are saying about her line readings too.  I honestly think the character really suffers being stuck in the Curtis pairing.  She's much better than Tanisha Harper's Jordan lol.
    • Friday and yesterday's episode is what daytime television should be. The other shows airing could take a page from yesterday's show.  I loved the rage, hurt and anger Nicole unleashed on Ted.  Daphnee should be up for an Emmy nom for these scenes.  It broke my heart to see how Dana had locked Eva out.  I do feel sorry for Eva.    I am still bumfuzzled as to why Leslie/Dana went to the DuPree's and asked them to accept Kat UNLESS Eva is really Kat's twin (and really Nicole and Ted's daughter that maybe they though they lost or an embryo Dana/Leslie stole??) I loved how Anita and Vernon both shot her down.    Ohhh and let me just say Friday and yesterday was the MOST fire I have seen Martin have since the show started.  Maybe Brandon Clayborn is coming into his own with the role finally.
    • You've been seeing him all along. You just didn't know it was him, I guess.

    • Where to for Dana? She's pissed off the Duprees (most of the cast), alienated her daughter and will she be welcomed by the Have Nots at the diner? Maybe she can befriend Ashley and Derek and liven up their story.
    • Melissa Ordway announced she was moved to recurring back in November but is still credited with the contract cast members.
    • I think of Evan as a smarmy bast*rd. Maybe you'll like that description. You certainly have him pegged correctly since he is just a soldier following "Admiral" Iris's marching orders.
    • So far the only interest I've seen from Evan to Amanda has been listening to Iris's orders to go and seduce her.  So far he hasn't been successful... but who knows. Amanda is unbearable at times. Entitled, spoiled... idiotic. Iris... so blatantly manipulating her and Amanda takes the bait. But I guess... when she gets in trouble... she'll have a chance to learn. That's what makes these shows so interesting.    Oh, no, don't worry. You haven't ruined a thing. Evan has not been on my radar that much... he was not one of the characters I was caring particularly... so nothing much has been changed for me. I don't think he has the stuff to ruin Rachel's life. He's just a pretty guy that can follow orders. Iris on the other hand... is dangerous.

P.S Maybe Evan will surprise me. Who knows.
    • The show has gone back to 10/10 entertainment! I'm glad that I was right in feeling that what were experiencing were growing pains. I'm sure they are not over yet, but I'll know that we always comeback to quality drama. I think it's going to be a hell of ride (in a good way) from this moment on. BTG has that magic that not a lot of shows have. I'll update more... when I'm done catching up.
    • So very glad to hear this. Yesterday I suddenly thought; OMG, what about spoilers, have I just  ruined things for Maxim in getting carried away with interest in Evan, who was so well-written & well-acted. BTW, your fan review of this episode was a sight for eyes that had not seen one of these for a little bit too long, LOL!!!  Mitch is also fascinating to me but in his case it's because he was all in with Janice & her nefarious plan & then he did this turnabout we've mentioned & he basically got off scot-free.
