Should have known better. I thought the Thursday cliffhanger was a turning point for the inept Headwriting team of Cwikly/Ford after a year of writing scenes. Turns out it was fake. It figures. Days is truly in the worst shape that it has ever been. No real stories. Ken Corday needs to pitch his 63rd plan to save Days to Peacock. And I get that they are almost a year ahead in taping. Shudder at what’s to come.

Been really enjoying Days of Our Lives lately. Is it perfect? No. But it's definitely improved. Have not enjoyed watching this much since prior to the fiftieth anniversary in 2015.

I totally agree with you. DAYS was awful for months but I was completely invested this entire week. It was actually exciting and there was story movement. Noel Maxam's experience is definitely on display.

It really is; it's amazing what happens when an EP comes in who has an actual vision and clear intent/care for the soap they're producing. It shows.

-- I wish I could pinpoint where they went wrong with the Sophia story, but they did. I agree with those who say they made her TOO crazy for TOO long.

I'd say the first place was when Sophia, who wanted to be with Tate, was still determined to give up "his" baby for adoption, instead of using it to try to steal him away from Holly.

Dropping the baby off at the firehouse, without a really good reason or motivation didn't help either.

Making her full on psycho was the final nail in the coffin, IMO

Today was a slow one.

But I did like the way that the news of Sophia trying to kill Johnny spread across Salem. Every character in today's episode was involved in the aftermath somehow and I like that. It makes Salem feel like a big community. I just think that the writers needed to add more to a lot of scenes today, in order to further grab people's attention.

And it was nice to see Javi tell Leo off at the beginning, even though Al's acting was once again... 😂😂😂

He really didn't come off like a guy that had inhaled noxious gases lol maybe he could've used a little more direction. But I hope that Javi actually does have a bf in Texas, and that he isn't just making it up to get Leo off his back. There are many more story opportunities for Javi if the bf does turn out to be real, or if he finds another bf in Salem.

Johnny and Chanel were sweet today and their little family bonding moment with Trey was nice. I still think that Chanel having cancer isn't the right storyline for them though.

As for EJ/Kristen, and Rafe/Cat too for that matter, I probably would've liked all their scenes and their storylines a lot more if they had involved any characters other than them. The biggest problem is just them lol

But I am somewhat interested in seeing what happens now for Kristen.

The recast is where they went wrong with Sophia. I rag on the Rachel Boyd regularly, but she really couldn't handle the material. At some point Days should have either recast again or figured out something that RB could handle. Honestly, though, I am not sure acting in general is her forte lol.

The show also seemed to be writing this Sophia story as they went along. I don't ever think there was a strong idea for the middle and end of this story. Sophia kept doing things that were shocking in the moment but didn't make sense as an overall arc for the character.

IMO, the show should have gotten rid of Sophia when she had the breakdown.
