It’s bizarre that Joss, although no longer an active WSB agent, is investigating what happened to Emma’s grandmother on her own. Make the frenemies team up begrudgingly.

BTW, I guess Vaughn really did disappeared. I thought we'd see him again at some point to at least end that story, but it doesn't look like it lol.

It flopped just like the whole larger storyline for her. Joss got a lot less airtime late last year/early this one, or so it seemed. That's when I first began to wonder if Eden was long for the show. It's also when they began ramping up Gio/Emma and accepting the popular fan response to it. Now Joss is back in story (with no romance), but Gio and Emma are also getting a bit more.

What Gio and Emma need is to be heavy and active in important story of their own, and right now they're not. It's fluff - good for fans who like them, but not integral. That I think is down to FV's vaunted taping schedule as well as his priorities and preferences. I don't see any sign that he is angling to try Joss with Gio, or we'd see many more hints of it onscreen. I think they're winging it at best with Joss at this point, having acknowledged the reality of her latest failed romance and story. But I think they're still struggling to mix in FV's interests with what the audience wants (more Gio and Emma).

There's no reason the two kids shouldn't be hunting down the truth about Anna or something. All the stuff they've given BB with or about Finola is gold. Or give them something entirely new of their own.

I agree. I don't think Eden will be on this show much longer with all her flopped pairings and stories. Knowing Frank, he will keep her forever, but I could also see her finishing out this arc and being heavily backburned or out. At the same time, I also don't think Frank is stupid enough to try Gio/Joss. There would be no benefit in that. It will make Joss even more hated and hurt Gio's character.

I have no idea why Gio/Emma aren't at all involved with the Anna plot with or without Joss. If it's the taping schedule that's a real flaw in his system. Like I said before, even Emma or Gio stumbling upon the truth about BLQ and Jordan's hit and run could cause them angst or getting involved with Kai/Trina in the Drew mess would be an easy place to slot them in. I don't see it being high effort to do either of those things if Frank doesn't prioritize giving them their own story.

Yeah, I think a year ago he might've tried. Not now. He knows Gio/Emma have caught fire and he knows Eden's latest story has failed, for her at least (he's still seemingly all in on Sidwell and Cassius, etc.). Obviously I agree with you about threading them into major story. The scenes Braedyn had with Finola last were intense and heartbreaking, and should've been the start of Emma making it her mission in life to find out the truth. And I do think his taping schedule is often a real chink in the armor at this show that consistently mismanages the pace and focus, and prioritizes first the stories and actors he prefers.

Speaking of taping schedule, it’s becoming clearer and clearer that Ezra basically exists so that Genie could block-shoot many weeks’ worth of scenes with only him (and occasionally Lulu) and then bounce.
