I actually like Carly plotting revenge against Brennan. But I continue to dread Valentin being added to it more regularly. Her playing cat and mouse there is an evolved version of Carly. Normally she impulsively would have blown it all up by now. It’s still deeply stupid of her to play games with the head spy, but she can only grow so much.

Laura’s freaking out doesn’t bother me because she has always been prone to panic. And even when she had a calmer head through Frank Smith round one and the Ice Princess, her ordeal with the Cassadines took its toll. In those episodes in 1983 she plays Laura as haunted deeply by what she endured. It’s one of the reasons the Nikolas story worked in 1996. And really, the last time she was in the body finding business, Luke would have taken care of it for her.

Joss in bed, again, really makes the lack of sex and relationships being shown elsewhere even more glaring. Carly doesn’t count, it’s a scam.

And I get where Britt was coming from about letting Jason help her if he fully commits. But you are also speaking to a man that is a mob enforcer, has a child he is the sole parent of, and family obligations from his mother’s recent death. I know they want me to feel sympathy for her but it’s just another bratty example of her immature behavior.

I did think Sidwell killing Dalton in front of Britt was an excellent way to up the stakes for her though. I like that it’s not only Sonny, Laura, and Jason that know besides Sidwell and Poppy guy. She and Jason both know but can’t talk about it. That’s pretty classic soap angst with a twist, and it does work for me.

I thought the scenes between Britt and Jason were well done, so I'll give KT props for that at least. I agree it felt like she was asking too much of him. It's unrealistic to think Jason, of all people, would be 100% committed to anyone at this point and he actually shouldn't have to be when he's just offering help? Britt also has family that would be happy to help her, so it's not as if she's all alone in the world.

The whole Dalton murder and Britt/Sidwell connection is fine I suppose, but it feels like the show just scrapped Emma's only story. All the months she spent trying to get in good with Dalton yet she never cracked the case and now he's dead.

I agree with this. Which is a shame because she’s much more engaging to me than Joss ever was.

She is. It's like Emma's entire plot got lost and she basically gets no resolution except that Gio and Rocco are getting yelled at lol.

I really like Cynthia Watros's new haircut. Very flattering.

I think the show was good today and has been good all week, but I am somehow bored and I am not sure why.

I feel the same for the most part, and I think it’s because they kind of trained me with the pace they had adapted, especially with the Michael/Willow/Drew stuff. And things slowed down tremendously with Britt/Nathan’s return and the Ronnie story. We came out of that in rebuilding the other stories mode, not hitting the ground running again. I like what is happening, but it’s paced and playing more like it did when Chris and Dan were at the helm the last time.

Yes! That's a big problem.

I also go back and forth with the issue that a lot of characters I care about are being dragged into plots I don't care about if that makes sense?

That’s been a problem on GH for a minute too. It’s one thing when a couple of stories aren’t working. But if most of your favorites are in stories that don’t appeal to you, habit is the only thing that keeps you watching. That’s what broke my viewing habits during Guza/JFP at least three times during their tenure. Ever since then, it’s been easier for me to just check out if I’m not enjoying anything onscreen.

You can tell almost right away whenever a character is in a storyline that, for whatever reason, is not clicking. It's almost as if you can feel the writers struggling just to get them to the next plot point, because the characters are being asked to do something that they simply wouldn't do.

Diane being a dummy with a wig in the office would be the greatest contribution the character has ever made.

LOL

Very much this. So far, how Carly had been playing it had me fascinated...in spite of the Val angle...because I was just saying how much it's been a minute since Carly has schemed or plotted revenge. And LW has been playing it to the hilt that I want to see what she does. But then it felt like the writers pushed it to the background briefly which I found odd.

You two sound like what I mentioned last week that after a bit of slow down with the Britt/Nathan returns trying (and failing) to overshadow the Monica/Ronnie story, the pacing went back to what I called shifting. Where the writers would shift to other stories, but somehow was able to still keep a good amount of momentum going. Kinda like how it was before the returns happened, it was really nicely paced AND entertaining to watch at the same time. A building toward something vibe if that makes sense.

I loved how it seems like a big giant umbrella across a lot...and I do mean A LOT...of the canvas because so much of what has been going on (I am a week and a half behind mind you) connects to several other stories at the same time which I'm surprised these writers are pulling off. And...I actually like it.

Then again, I can’t really see them as a couple but I wouldn’t mind something else happening between them 😂😂😂
