Jason Graham, Doug McBride, Beyond the Gates

On the Thursday, September 25 episode of “Beyond the Gates,” Doug McBride was reported dead after getting into a car accident, which took place off-screen, and with that, actor Jason Graham has concluded his run on the daytime drama, and in the process marked the first character death for the series since its February launch.

In a clip posted to Instagram by Graham’s on-screen wife, Lauren Buglioli (Vanessa McBride), the actor, who was recurring on the soap, shared a few words with the cast and crew after taping his final scenes, saying, “I love you all. You guys are family for life.” Buglioli could be heard in the background, saying, “I love you, husband.”

“One of the best I’ve ever had the honor to play with. Thank you,” commented co-star Jon Lindstrom, whose character, Joey Armstrong, played a key role in Doug’s death, according to the current storyline playing out. Vanessa was having an affair with Joey, news of which Doug only recently learned. Additionally, Doug was a notorious gambler and frequented Joey’s casino, owing more than he could afford.

“We love you,” stated Arielle Prepetit (Naomi Hamilton Hawthorne), while Karla Mosley (Dani Dupree) said, “Love this so much.”

Before landing in Fairmont Crest, Graham made his daytime soap opera debut in 1999 when he appeared in an episode of “All My Children” as a bartender. He went on to appear in primetime, including “Heroes,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Melissa & Joey,” “Being Mary Jane,” “The Walking Dead,” and more recently “Tyler Perry’s Sistas” and “All American: Homecoming.”
