Lauralee Bell, Soapy

The fourth episode of “Soapy Hosted by Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart” is set to release on Tuesday, July 29, featuring an interview with “The Young and the Restless” star Lauralee Bell (Christine Blair), who, in a newly released clip, discusses how she was able to play the vulnerable side of her character during the early part of her tenure in daytime.

When asked by Rebecca Budig (Taylor Hayes, “The Bold and the Beautiful”) about playing emotional scenes and being comfortable doing so, Bell shared a story of the time the show’s executive producer at the time, Wesley Kenney, demonstrated a physical technique he expected from the actress for the scenes she was about to portray, particularly as she was a teenager at the time.

“He’s like, ‘And you have to go like this and like this, and like this, and I was looking at him like, ‘I don’t like, really? Are you sure?’ And it did have to be exaggerated for that,” recalled Bell of the experience in answering Budig’s question. “You could just tell I was, I was so scared.”

When Greg Rikaart (Leo Stark, “Days of our Lives”) pointed out how difficult it must have been to be vulnerable as a teenager, Bell noted, “Thank God for no social media at that time.”
