A poster on Bluesky has reminded me that this was that awful story where Jen was engaged to Lawrence. Further she thinks that Jack was going for one of the SNL wild & crazy guys. And then she adds how much she misses Vern. And, don't we all?!! For the DAYS virgins among us, Vern was the newspaper editor & also father to Brian & to Tanner, Vern Scofield. Vern was a good friend to Jack, at a time when Jack didn't have many friends.

I just had an epiphany.

The most drag moment in soap history is the introduction of Lucy Coe on GH.

Miss Coe was the Medical School Librarian.  She was a mousy blond who was called to the stand by the defense of Kevin O'Connor.  She wore her hair in a bun, a blouse buttoned up to the neck, and a modest skirt with flats.  She testified that Kevin was studying at the time of the murder, for which he was on trial, thus clearing him of the charges against him.

When we next saw Ms Coe, she arrived home, let down her hair, stripped down to lingerie, threw on a pair of heels, and sprayed some perfume.  Soon, there was a knock on the door, and it was Kevin.

Now, that's drag!

Does Jack ever dress in drag during that early '00s period where he was trying to get Jennifer back...or does he just fake being gay around then?

Not full on drag, but I totally forgot that Edmund, Adrian, Ryan and Jack all did wedding gown drag during Mateo's bachelor party on AMC.  Here is the clip:

RIP Joe Marinelli

I loved him on Santa Barbara, as himself & also in drag, most famously a character called Bunny Tagliatti but this is not that character. It is marred by having Brian Frons playing God.

i've heard of his character but never saw much video of him floating around!

Okay, here he is again but this is Bunny straight not in drag.

In reading about him on 'We Love Soaps' I was reminded of how the character started cross-dressing.

And while SANTA BARBARA's Bunny -- a heterosexual gangster played by Joe Marinelli who initially donned women's clothing to hide from the mob and discovered he liked wearing dresses and panty hose -- may be daytime's first bona fide cross-dresser, other shows make comical use of drag disguises.

Anyone interested in drag, drag on soaps or comedy in soaps, you will find more of interest in this 'We Love Soaps' essay.  Among other things it calls out Agnes Nixon writing AW, Opal on AMC, Calliope on DAYS. It mentions AW's Cass but not by name.
