As it did during election week, ABC’s “The View” saw substantial growth among Total Viewers and the key sales demographics during the week of January 20-24, 2025, which kicked off with the second inauguration of President Donald J. Trump – “The View” was preempted on Monday, January 20 due to ABC News Inauguration Day coverage.

With an average of 2.610 million viewers tuning in compared to the same week last year, the daytime talk show added +200,000 viewers week-to-week to mark its third most-watched week of the season and its best performance among Total Viewers in 11 weeks (since the week of November 4-8, 2024).

The Tuesday, January 21 episode was the show’s most-watched in 11 weeks (since November 6, 2024 – post-election day), with an average of 2.771 million viewers tuning in to find out what the co-hosts had to say following President Trump’s inauguration.

For the week, “The View” averaged 130,000 viewers among Women 18-49 and 189,000 viewers among Women 25-54. In Women 18-49, “The View” held a mere +1,000 viewer advance over “GMA3: What You Need to Know” and a +5,000 viewer advantage over “NBC News Daily.” The talk show’s advantage among Women 25-54 was slightly more significant with “GMA3” averaging just 152,000 viewers in the demo compared with “NBC News Daily” and its 151,000 viewers.

Season to date (09/02/2024-01/26/2025), “The View” is averaging 2.577 million viewers, up +124,000 viewers compared to the same weeks last year, and marking its best performance in four years (since the 2020/2021 season).

Compared to its competition among all daytime talk shows and news programs, for the fifth season in a row “The View” is the most-watched among Total Viewers and Households, pulling in a 1.77 rating in the latter category.

Broadcast from New York City and hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro, “The View” is produced by ABC News and airs weekdays at 11:00 a.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT on ABC. The show is also available to stream Live and On Demand on Hulu. Brian Teta serves as showrunner/executive producer with Sarah de la O as director.

    • Portugal qualifying was the only shocker. I'm really happy for Iceland. IMO, the automatic finalists – Spain, Switzerland and Italy – had the best performances. I love the studio version of Azerbaijan, but on stage, it was a disaster.

    • Randy (Doug's friend who works for Joey) -- Joey told Randy weeks ago that Joey's plan was to get Doug into so much debt that Doug would be forced to get Vanessa's real estate holding turned over to Joey, to use for money-laundering.  That's been the plan all along, which the viewers knew.  The only thing new is that Joey finally told Doug this. I think Joey is written badly.  I also think Jon Lindstrom is doing "Now I am going to act menacing".   But I don't really feel the menace.  It's too overdramatic and it doesn't feel like a real person.  Jon is a fine actor on GH, so I don't know what's happening here -- the entire BTG mobster premise is badly designed/written.  I don't know if Guza pushed for a mobster storyline?  Or did Jon?  (Jon wrote a novel about Hollywood mobsters). It just doesn't fit.  It feels (to me) like this storyline for Jon was just shoved onto the canvas but it doesn't fit all all. Monday's scene of Mona coming into the "casino" to check up on where Leslie supposedly lost money in the slot machines -- and Randy explaining to Mona that there are no slot machines, there is nothing but the card room.  I had to laugh because they had characters comment that it's just a card room and not a casino -- the show is now acknowledging that there's nothing there.  If they are going to do this, then have it make sense for Fairmont Crest residents to visit a high-end glamourous casino, and not a random room with one table. So what money is Joey laundering? A while back, Joey told Vanessa that he knows about her sexual philandering because owns the escort service that she'd been using. But I don't care...  I'd just prefer that the entire mobster storyline go away.
    • I caught up this past weekend. The show is better written, but I have been bored with the show. I did notice it ranked in the top 5 again this week, so that's a good sign.
    • I can't take this show seriously. I truly miss WJB writing this show. Bradley didn't inherit his dad's talent.
    • Maybe if there had been a good close up or two
